ABSTRAKUlat jerman merupakan larva dari kumbang Zophobas morio yang saat ini banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia. Ulat jerman banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan untuk beberapa hewan peliharaan seperti burung kicau, sugar glider, dan berbagai macam reptile. Percobaan ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3600 ekor ulat jerman terdiri dari 3 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan, sehingga di dapat 18 unit percobaan dan setiap unit percobaan terdiri atas 200 ekor ulat Jerman. Perlakuan tersebut di antaranya P1 = dedak, P2 = pollard, dan P3 = onggok. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis ragam dan perbedaan antara perlakuan dengan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan. Berdasarkan analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa pemberian media nutrisi berbeda nyata terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi ransum dan daya hidup ulat Jerman. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil bahwa pollard merupakan media nutrisi terbaik bagi pertumbuhan ulat Jerman.Kata kunci : Ulat Jerman, media nutrisi, dedak, pollard, onggok, bobot badan, konsumsi efisiensi pakan

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian berbagai imbangan rumput Gajah Taiwan (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Taiwan) dan konsentrat terhadap kecernaan serat kasar dan bahan ekstrak tanpa nitrogen (BETN) pada domba Garut jantan dewasa. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode ekperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, perlakuan dirancang sebagai berikut : (1) imbangan 80% rumput vs 20% konsentrat (P1), (2) imbangan 60% rumput vs 40% konsentrat (P2), (3) imbangan 40% rumput vs 60% konsentrat (P3), tiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 6 (enam) kali. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam dan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa imbangan rumput Gajah Taiwan (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Taiwan) dan konsentrat memberikan pengaruh berbeda tidak nyata terhadap kecernaan serat kasar dan BETN dan imbangan 40% rumput vs 60% konsentrat menghasilkan angka kecernaan serat kasar dan BETN berturut-turut sebesar 57,81% dan 73,40%. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian aditif EM-4 pada ensilase campuran kulit kopi arabika dan onggok terhadap kandungan bahan kering dan bahan organik silase yang dihasilkan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan, yaitu : P1 = pemberian probiotik EM-4 0%, P2 = pemberian probiotik EM-4 0,3%, P3 = pemberian probiotik EM-4 0,6%, dan P4 = pemberian probiotik EM-4 0,9% dan tiap perlakuan diulang 5 (lima) kali. Data yang diperoleh diuji menggunakan analisis ragam dan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan probiotik EM-4 sampai taraf 0,9% memberikan pengaruh terhadap kandungan bahan kering dan bahan organik dari silase yang dihasilkan. Pemberian aditif probiotik EM-4 pada taraf 0,6% sampai 0,9% menghasilkan kandungan bahan kering dan bahan organik tertinggi berturut sebesar 35,40% dan 30,06%. Kata Kunci: silase, kulit kopi arabika, probiotik EM-4, bahan kering, dan bahan organik.

Poultry is one of the main foods consumed in Indonesia, especially broilers. With the increasing demand for chicken meat, then the availability of feed ingredients must be fulfilled. An alternative option to cover the shortage of broiler feed ingredients is utilizing agricultural waste, namely cassava peel. Cassava peel is a waste product from processing cassava, tapioca, tape, and other cassava-based foods. The potential availability of cassava peels in Indonesia is very abundant. Constraints found in cassava peels are low nutrient content and cyanide (HCN) toxins. However, it can be overcome by fermentation technology. The results of several studies show that fermented cassava peel products at a usage rate of 10% can be used in broilers.

Tanaman Corchorus aestuans merupakan tanaman pakan dan memiliki kandungan anti-inflamasi yang berfungsi sebagai obat alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh giberelin terhadap waktu berkecambah dan jumlah kecambah pada tanaman Corchorus aestuans menggunakan metode kultur jaringan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-April 2022. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan yaitu P0 = kontrol (tanpa pemberian giberelin), P1 = 100 ppm, P2 = 200 ppm, P3 = 300 ppm, P4 = 400 ppm. Setiap perlakuan diulang 4 kali yang menghasilkan 20 unit percobaan. Data hasil penelitian diolah menggunakan analisis sidik ragam dan menggunakan uji lanjut jarak berganda Duncan sebagai uji lanjut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian giberelin (GA3) berpengaruh nyata pada waktu berkecambah dengan waktu tercepat mulai terbentuk kecambah 8 HST pada perlakuan 300 ppm, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah kecambah.

The aim of the article was to study corn production in Indonesia. Indonesia has been known to import corn to complete their need mainly poultry feed. Even though in 2020, the Ministry of Agriculture Republic Indonesia had stated that the total number of local corn production should be enough to fill the need. But the feed industries were still importing corn because the production of local corn had not met the quality standard. This was caused by several reasons, mainly due to poor handling methods of the production, such as improper dry processing and storage method. Good dry processing on corn should lower the water content by up to 14%. This could be done by creating a simple version of the dryer so that local farmers could dry the corns even in the rainy season. A good storage method was also needed to maintain the quality of corn. Corns could be stored in a silo to prevent the damage so that the stored dried corn could last longer. Local farmers could create a farming group and make a silo to store their corn production together.

The Effect of Giving Rations Containing (Pomacea ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to determine the effect of rations containing golden snail flour protected by various levels of tannins on crude fiber and energy of ration digestibility of male local sheep. This research used experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD). There were five treatments and each treatment was replicated four times. The treatments were arranged as follows P0 = Elephant Grass 60% + 40% concentrate, P1 = Elephant Grass 60% + concentrate 37.5% + snail flour 2.5% without tannins (0%), P2 = Elephant Grass 60% + concentrate 37, 5% + 2.5% snail flour with tannins (1.5%), P3 = Elephant Grass 60% + 37.5% concentrate + 2.5% snail flour with tannins (3%), P4 = Elephant Grass 60% + concentrate 37.5% + 2.5% snail flour with tannins (4.5%). The data were analyzed by orthogonal contrasts to determine response of the treatments. The results showed that giving rations containing golden snail flour which was protected up to 4,5% of tannis had no effect (P> 0.05) on crude fiber and energi ration digestibility of male local sheep.

The research aims to determine the applied effect of liquid organic fertilizer as a result of bioconversion of Hermetia illucens flies on the calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) content of Panicum maximum cv. Mombasa. This research took time on November 2019 to January 2020, at the Laboratory of Forage Plants, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Padjadjaran University. The Ca and P were analyzed at the Laboratory of the Department of Soil and Land Resources, Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural University (Institut Pertanian Bogor). The research object consisted of 24 samples of grass Panicum maximum cv. Mombasa. The method used in this study was an experimentally with completely randomized design (CRD) with six treatments and four replications. P 0 = 0 ml P 1 = 30 ml P 2 = 60 ml P 3 = 90 ml P 4 = 120 ml and P 5 = 150 ml bioconversion liquid organic fertilizer of Hermetia illucens flies. From the experimental results, it can be concluded that the application of liquid organic fertilizer from the bioconversion of Hermetia illucens flies has no significant effect to the calcium (Ca) and has significant to the phosphorus (P) content of Panicum maximum cv. Mombasa.

Silase adalah teknik pengawetan pakan melalui proses ensilase. Kualitas silase tergantung pada kecepatan proses fermentasi untuk membentuk asam laktat. Pembuatan silase membutuhkan bahan tambahan (aditif) untuk mempercepat proses ensilase. Bahan aditif yang dapat digunakan yaitu dedak fermentasi. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama fermentasi pada penggunaan dedak fermentasi terhadap kandungan lignin dan selulosa silase tebon jagung. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 03 Februari 2021–19 Maret 2021 di Cowla Farm, Dusun Gembor, Desa Cikembulan, Kecamatan Sidamulih, Kabupaten Pangandaran, dan di Laboratorium Nutrisi Ruminansia dan Kimia Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor, Sumedang. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 3 perlakuan dan 7 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas lama fermentasi 7 hari, 14 hari, dan 21 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh terhadap kandungan lignin dan selulosa silase tebon jagung. Lama fermentasi optimal yang menghasilkan kandungan lignin terendah (7,55%) dan selulosa terendah (23,07%) yaitu 21 hari.
