The aim of this study was to determine the effect of molasses and nitrogen application on papaya stem ensilages on the dry matter, organic matter and ash content of the resulting silage. The study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design with 4 treatments: (1) without the addition of molasses and nitrogen treatment (P0), (2) the addition of 0% molasses and 2% nitrogen (P1), (3) the addition of 5% molasses and 0% nitrogen (P2), and (4) addition of 5% molasses and 2% nitrogen (P3), each treatment was repeated 5 (five) times. Data were analyzed using Duncan's variance and multiple-distance analysis. The results showed that the use of molasses and nitrogen significantly affected the dry matter, organic matter and ash content of the resulting silage. The application of 5% molasses and 0% nitrogen in papaya stem ensilage resulted in a dry matter content of 16.84%, organic matter 90.97% as the highest value among the treatments given, and the lowest ash content of 8.34%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the application of molasses to a level of 5% without the addition of nitrogen elements can be carried out on papaya stem ensilases.

West Java is the province with the largest population in Indonesia. The impact of highly population is on the high of demand for food, one of them is meat. This required an increase of livestock population to meet these need. However, this is limited by the lack of land for forage and the increasing price of feedstuff, so it is necessary to search alternative feedstuff. Palm oil sludge is one of the plantation wastes that can be used as feedstuff for ruminants. Procurement of palm sludge waste from outside of Java can be done because West Java is a province with low of palm oil production. The results of the study shown that the business opportunity for procuring palm sludge sludge in West Java was very possible based on the assumption of utilization palm sludge waste for ruminant animals (beef cattle, sheep, goats) and the low production of palm oil in West Java.

The a study aimed to examine the potential of turiang rice and gamal wafers as a source of ruminant feed in the form of wafers. This research was carried out from May 2020 to September 2020. The location of this research was carried out in Experimental Land, Faculty of Agriculture, and Laboratory of Forage Crops, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Padjadjaran. This study examines the effect of the balance of turiang rice with gamal on the physical quality of turiang wafers with RAL, namely the level (P1 = 0% Gamal: 100% turiang rice, P2 = 5% Gamal: 95% turiang rice, P3 = 10% Gamal: 90% turiang and P4 = 15% Field grass: 85% turiang). Turiang rice and Gamal legumes are dried in the sun for 2-3 days. After that, the dried rice Turiang was chopped using a manual machine with a size ranging from 2-3 cm. Then, chopped turiang rice and Gamal are milled. The two feed ingredients are mixed with other ingredients such as water, rice bran. After mixing well, the printing was carried out with a size of 13.5 x 13.5 x 3.5 cm using a mould and then dried with the help of an oven and sunlight. Then the turiang wafers were removed and cooled, then a part of the turiang wafers was tested for physical properties. The experimental results showed that the balance of 15% Gamal and 85% turiang gave a good physical assessment of turiang wafers (moisture content). In the parameters of absorption, density and specific gravity of the four treatments gave almost the same value (P> 0.05).

This research was conducted to determine the effect of giving chitosan irradiation on the immunity status of laying hens. The study was conducted in December 2019 to January 2020 at the laying chicken farm in Sukarapih Village, Sukasari District, Sumedang Regency, West Java. Blood sample testing was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Physiology and Biochemistry of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency, West Java. The study used an experimental method with orthogonal polynomial test. There were 50 layers layer layer chicken as research objects with 5 types of treatment, namely P0 = without giving chitosan, P1 = given chitosan 150 ppm, P2 = given chitosan 200 ppm, P3 = given chitosan 250 ppm and P4 = given chitosan 300 ppm. The parameters observed in this study were white blood cells / leukocytes (lymphocytes and neutrophils) and blood proteins (total protein, albumin and globulin) laying hens. The results showed that the administration of chitosan irradiation had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the number of leukocyte, lymphocyte and neutrophil cells. Likewise with the effect of chitosan irradiation on blood protein levels (total protein, albumin and globulin), which were generally significantly different (P <0.05). But there is an inconsistency of the influence of chitosan on each parameter of blood protein, both total protein, albumin and globulin.

The results showed that the collaboration of adding turmeric powder and vitamin C in the ration (treatment R3) was able to increase the intake of the highest vitamin C content of Arabic chicken eggs, namely 45.64% / mg or showed an increase of 29.84% higher than the control, and the addition of turmeric in the ration is also indicated to reduce the content of free fatty acids in eggs.","PeriodicalId":119655,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Nutrisi Ternak Tropis dan Ilmu Pakan","volume":"56 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125040696","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
