Cervical epidermoid cysts and uncommon benign cystic lesions were identied in a 50-year-old woman. The patient presented with heavy menstrual bleeding and lower abdominal pain, and after initial treatment with endometrial biopsy and hemostatic uterine curettage, a total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy was performed. The gross examination of the specimen revealed a hypertrophied cervix with a cyst lled with grey-white substance, as well as a polypoidal mass in the fundus and intramural broids. Histopathological examination conrmed the diagnosis of a cervical epidermoid cyst as an incidental nding. Squamous metaplasia was conned to the cervical mucosa. The precise etiology remains unclear, but post-parturient implantation of vestigial embryonic tissue might be a contributing factor as there is no other associated etiology in this case. This case report emphasizes the importance of considering epidermoid cysts in the differential diagnosis of cervical masses and highlights the need for further research to better understand the formation and management of these rare cysts.

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) has been a silent pandemic. Newer antibiotics are required to treat drug-resistant pathogens. Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are promising next-generation antibiotics that are naturally produced in all living organisms. They are crucial components of the natural resistance framework of an organism. Small cationic peptides of 10-60 amino acid lengths have been successfully used as antibiotics. Marine ecosystems have an immense diversity of organisms and microorganisms that interact with each other, and thus have unique defense mechanisms. Marine cone snails are an untapped source of small, cationic AMPs. These snails secrete various proteinaceous venoms to deal with predators and preys. These cone snail venoms remain unexplored for their potential as antimicrobial peptides. The structural analysis of the venomous protein, Turritoxin PaIAa, from cone snails showed a high content of amino acids commonly found in AMPs. However, it did not exhibit any antibacterial activity. This protein was further investigated by overlap fractionation to identify hidden antimicrobial and cell-penetrating peptides. The unique peptide stretches obtained from PaIAa were evaluated against the toppriority ESKAPE pathogens. All peptides were active against A. baumannii. All peptides had cell-penetrating properties. These AMP candidates also showed promising physical, physicochemical, and pharmacokinetic properties. The AMP candidates identied in this study can be further evaluated by in vitro and in vivo testing.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized by decits in social interaction, impaired communication abilities, restricted and repetitive behaviors and reduced interest and engagement in social activities, all of which impact their developmental and play skills. The purpose of this study was to observe the play skills and developmental trajectory, as well as to explore their correlation, among children diagnosed with mild to moderate ASD. The play abilities of twenty preschool children, with ages ranging from 2 to 6 years, who have been diagnosed with mild to moderate Autism Spectrum Disorder, were assessed using the Knox Preschool Play scale. The assessment of developmental trajectory was conducted utilizing the Ages & Stages Questionnaire-III (ASQIII). The relationship between them was examined through the application of the Pearson correlation test. The play skills affected to moderate level scores ranging from -0.47 to 0.75 out of maximum score 2 and the developmental domains such as communication, ne motor skills, problem solving abilities & personal social development showed moderate to severe involvement scoring between 8.75 to 28.36 out of maximum score of 60 in each domain. Space and Material Management displayed a moderate level of impairment. There is a notable impairment in both participation and pretense/symbolic play. The impact on the development of personal social skills and problem-solving abilities was notable when compared to children with typical development. This suggests a deviation from the usual trajectory of overall development and play capabilities. Researchers have noted a moderate positive correlation between material management and the development of both ne motor skills and problem-solving ability. Participation has been observed to exhibit a similar correlation with ne motor skills. The signicance of executive functions, planning, and ne motor development in the development of play skills is emphasized by these ndings, suggesting the necessity of Occupational Therapy intervention for child development.

We present a case report of a fatal mesenteric injury resulting from a crushed wine bottle following a near hanging incident. The deceased, a 23 -year-old male, was found hanging from a rope in his residence after consuming a considerable amount of alcohol. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the individual had fallen from the hanging position, leading to the wine bottle he was holding being crushed against his abdomen. The blunt force trauma from the shattered bottle caused extensive mesenteric injury, resulting in hemorrhagic shock and subsequent death. This case underscores the potential for severe and unexpected complications in cases of alcohol-related self-harm, highlighting the importance of thorough forensic examination and consideration of unusual mechanisms of injury.

In these years with the raise in cesarean section rates, the frequency of PAS cases has risen. It has accounted for 33–50% of all emergency peripartum or obstetric hysterectomies. PAS is an obstetric emergency associated with a high maternal morbidity and mortality rate, presenting unique challenges in its diagnosis and management. We present a 24-year-old third gravida with previous 2 LSCS, who presented with PV bleeding, being unaware of pregnancy. This 22week pregnancy with previous 2 LSCS with placenta previa with active PV bleed, was managed surgically with obstetric hysterectomy as per intraoperative evidence and unstable vitals with severe hemorrhagic shock. Post operative recovery and follow-up was uneventful.

Swedana (sudation) therapy is a process which has a dual role in panchkarma as well as pradhan karma in relevance to panchkarma and the treatment of various vata-kaphaja and medopradoshaja vikara. Swedana helps to relief stiffness heaviness and coldness of the body and makes the body to perspire. It removes toxins from the body through hair follicles present all over the skin .The perspiration brought about by the swedana is more than the normal. Swedana is preventive, supportive as well as therapeutic. Acharya charak has mentioned the root of origin of swedavaha srotas (channels) lies in Meda (fat, lipids, Adipose tissue) and lomakoop (minute pores of the skin located around base of hair follicles). Sweda is considered to be excreta (Mala) of meda dhatu. The root of origin of medovaha srotas (channels) are Vrikka (kidney) and vapvahana(peritoneal membrane). The Vrikka (kidney) is originated from prasada bhag of Rakta (Blood) and meda. In Chronic kidney disease (CKD), the hemodynamics of the kidney is hampered which leads to accumulation of toxins and unltered excretory wastes. So with the help of swedana the hemodynamics of kidney and the body is improved which facilitates the expulsion of accumulated toxins through activation of sweat glands to produce more sweat. It causes apana vata anulomana which further facilitates micturition. In this article you will come to know the relevance of swedana in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients.
