Fresh Aloe vera plant leaves were brought from botanical garden and sample was indentied and brought to the laboratory in the Department of Zoology, Patkar-Varde College, Goregaon (W), Mumbai. 50 grams of leaves were then grounded with 50ml of distilled water in sterilized pestle and mortar. The yield will be calculated based on weight of the extract compared to the weight of the pulp of the leaves. Forty eight (48) Sprague- dawley rats (average weight 150 - 250 g) of either sex were used for the experiment. The drugs ETH and PAS drug and Aloe vera juice were given to respective groups daily for 28 days. At the end of study various biochemical parameters were analyzed from serum such as, Bilirubin, ACP, ALP, SGOT (AST), SGPT (ALT), HDL Cholesterol, Total Cholesterol, and TGL.
