Aims and objectives: To compare the results of ne needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) and Tru-cut biopsy in order to detect pathology in clinically suspicious palpable breast lumps in outpatient setting. Furthermore, to evaluate the diagnostic usefulness of further histopathological details obtained with tru-cut biopsy, and its effect on preoperative planning of surgical treatment. A total of 50 women who presented to surgery OPD from January 2023 to December 2023 with Material and methods: clinically suspicious palpable breast lump at tertiary care medical college hospital in central Rajasthan, India were included in this prospective study. After detailed history and physical examination, both FNAC and tru-cut biopsy were performed in an outpatient setting. The sensitivity of Results: F.N.A.C. was 95%, specicity was 100% and diagnostic accuracy was 96% while sensitivity of Trucut biopsy was 100%, specicity was 100% and diagnostic accuracy was 100%. Tru-cut biopsy is more accurate than FNAC. Tru-cut biopsy was abl Conclusion: e to give histological diagnosis and results correlated 100% with nal histopathology report, with further information about tumour type, grade, lymph vascular invasion, and receptors status. It also permitted the eventual use of preoperative adjuvant therapy.

Background: Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) is the most frequent leukocytoclastic systemic small-vessel vasculitis in children. HSP can present with a wide variety of clinical symptoms, from proteinuria and microscopic hematuria without any symptoms to variable degrees of acute kidney injury (AKI) and fast progressing glomerulonephritis with a high risk of long-term renal impairment. The kind and extent of organ involvement determines therapy options in more severe situations. A 12 year old Case Summary: female admitted to New Civil Hospital Surat with chief complaints of rash since 8 days. Also associated with joint and abdominal pain. Patient also gave history of cough, cold, sorethroat. Investigations done, Dermatologist opinion was taken for skin biopsy, skin biopsy showed leukocytoclastic vasculitis with IgA deposits. Patient Started on prednisolone 1mg/kg/day, Patient showed improvement with prednisolone within one week and was discharged sucessfully. It is crucial to dene the differential diagnosis w Discussion: ith other bullous diseases in childhood. Prognosis of HSP is good if there is no renal involvement. Henoch-Schönlein purpura is a Conclusion: frequent paediatric vasculitis that is multi-systemic. Although the prognosis is often quite good, some individuals may experience long-term effects, usually in the kidneys.

Tuberculosis is a major health concern in India with extra- pulmonary presentation being 66.6% in pregnancy . Spinal TB or Pott's Spine in pregnancy is a rare entity which can lead to paraplegia and adverse feto-maternal outcomes. Our patient presented at 34+4 weeks POG with bilateral lower limb weakness and backache since 28weeks period of gestation. Paraparesis being an uncommon complaint in pregnancy, has varied etiology which involves spinal cord. Common causes include traumatic fracture injury, spinal cord compression due to tumor, metastasis, spinal TB, Pyogenic abscess and Transverse myelitis, Polio, Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and Syringomyelia being the less common. The history, neurological examination and imaging helps in narrowing the diagnosis. In Pott's Spine, lower thoracic and upper lumbar region are affected the most. WHO recommends 6 months of therapy with intensive phase of 2 months and continuation phase of 4 months which can be prolonged to 12 – 18 months based on symptoms and imaging. Pott's Spine with neurological decits or those who show progressive decit even on ATT needs surgery. MRI is ideal in such a condition and prognosis is good with early decompression surgery with ATT.

Cancer is the leading cause of death in the world; and cancer treatments are becoming more expensive and there are not resources available in any institution or government for their cure. In 2020, there were 19.3 million new cases and around 10 million deaths and 28.4 million cases are expected by 2024. The most common types of cancer are breast, lung, colon and rectum and prostate; approximately 30% are due to tobacco use, alcohol consumption, low fruit and vegetable intake, and lack of physical activity; as well as infections caused by hepatitis viruses or human papillomaviruses. Cancer in children and adolescents is one of the leading causes of death in the worldwide. Each year, more than 400,000 children are diagnosed globally. In children, leukemias are more common, then brain tumors, and then lymphomas. This makes it a public health problem in Mexico and the worldwide. Amino acids stimulate cell growth and development cellular. Polyamines are the integrated part of the cellular and genetic metabolism and help in transcription, translocation, signaling and post-translational modications. Polyamines binding to RNA leads to structural changes which stimulate and increase the protein synthesis along the amino acids may inuence the conditions of various diseases. Several diseases can be controlled to a higher extend via maintaining the metabolism of amino acids and polyamines. On the other hand, a controlled diet is a way to maintain the level of amino acids and polyamines in the body. Present review highlights to etiology of cancer, also discusses functions and metabolism of polyamines in human and also highlights the nutritional role of amino acids and polyamines in the prevention and control of various diseases.

Essential oils so far have been investigated for their use in wound healing, treating respiratory disorders, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. They are now looked upon as novel therapeutic agents to treat bacterial biolms. Interactions of four key components of essential oils of Hedychium coronarium J. Koenig, an endangered, medicinal and aromatic plant with matrix proteins viz., Self-associating proteins of Escherichia coli, with Lec B protein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Sortase protein of Staphylococcus aureus were studied through molecular docking and molecular dynamics. The key components of the essential oils selected were β-carotene, caryophyllene oxide, eucalyptol and sitosterol..All the four components showed good, stable interactions with Self-Associating Protein of Escherichia coli. β-carotene, eucalyptol and sitosterol interactions with Lec B protein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were also stable with the exception of caryophyllene. In case of Staphylococcus aureus, with the exception of eucalyptol, promising results were seen with β-carotene, caryophyllene and sitosterol. The selected essential oil components showed good stable interactions with matrix proteins through in silico results thereby validating that natural remedies may be considered for treating fatal illnesses as well.

Psychological distress is known to affect a person's overall mental well-being and college students are often seen as a bundle of energy. Therefore the present investigation studiesthe emotional distress and mental help seeking attitude among college going students in south Indian city. 94 college going students aged between 18 to 25 years pursuing degree course from colleges at Chennai, Tamil Nādu, India was enrolled in this study using random sampling method. After obtaining informed consent, DASS-21 and MHSAS were selfadministered to assess the level of Depression, Anxiety, Stress, and Mental Help Seeking Behaviour (MHSB). Psychological distress in the form of mild level of Depression and moderate level of Anxiety along with MHSB was present among the college students. There is a positive correlation between Depression, Anxiety, Stress, and MHSB (significant at p<0.01). Significant difference was observed between nuclear and joint family towards MHSB (t = 2.896, p < 0.01) and Domicile and MHSB (F=4.060, p<0.05) and between economic status and MHSB (F = 3.669, p<0.05). The ndings of the current study concluded the presence of Depression and Anxiety features among college students and thus there is a need for periodic mental health assessment of college going students and subsequent addressal of their mental health issues, if there is need.

The ndings of the current study concluded the presence of Depression and Anxiety features among college students and thus there is a need\u0000for periodic mental health assessment of college going students and subsequent addressal of their mental health issues, if there is need.","PeriodicalId":13502,"journal":{"name":"Indian journal of applied research","volume":"139 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140757173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
Introduction: Gallbladder carcinoma (CA) is the most common primary biliary carcinoma and fth most common malignancy of the gastrointestinal tract. Incidence of gall bladder carcinoma is highest in Asian countries and this had increased recently due to improved detection rates. Approximately 90% of Gall Bladder cancers have accompanying cholelithiasis. Adenocarcinoma is the most common histologic type, accounting for 98% of all gallbladder tumors with almost a third of cases presenting with distant metastasis. 1.To study various features of CT in GB masses. 2.To detect the sensitivity, spe Objectives: cicity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of CT in diagnosing gall bladder masses by comparing with ndings ne-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) and histopathological examination. Materials and Method: Total 50 patients are included in this study who have presented to Surgery OPD, Agartala government medical college and GBP hospital with symptoms related to GB masses. All the patients subsequently undergo MDCT and subsequently CT guided FNAC for cytological correlation and followed up to post operative histopathological examination Results: In our study, age of the GB mass patients was ranged from 30 to 90 years. Maximum number of patients were in the age group between 51 and 60 years, about 29%, and age group between 61 and 70 years, about 27%. Minimum number of patients were in the group between -30-40 years and 81–90 years. The average age of the patients presented was 58 years. Of 50 patients of the GB masses, 65% were detected in females and 35% were detected in males. Female predominance is seen. Conclusion: The overall mean age of the patients presented was 58 year, and the overall female-to-male ratio was 1.9:1. The most common presenting symptom was jaundice which was seen in 87% of cases. In our study, overall detection of GB carcinoma CT could detect 93% of cases same as FNAC detection of GB carcinoma.
