Enhancing employability through hospital placements for Biomedical Science students 通过安排生物医学学生到医院实习,提高他们的就业能力

Collaboration between Universities and hospitals has provided the National Health Service (NHS) with many excellent Biomedical Scientists through the placement year scheme. Here, we document the number of students joining the placement scheme and the number and type of hospital departments offering student placements over a 10-year period. Prior to 2012, students were able to join fully-funded placements through the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE). Since then, there has been a fluctuation in numbers completing a placement year at the University of Essex, but the employability of these graduates remains consistently higher than our 3-year graduates. We demonstrate the positive impact of completing a placement year in an NHS hospital laboratory for students, and the contribution to university metrics in good degrees and graduate outcomes as well as the provision of much needed, qualified biomedical science staff to hospitals.

Comparative differential study of comorbid symptomatic groups associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis 与自闭症谱系障碍诊断相关的共病症状组的比较差异研究

Individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) make up a diagnosis characterized by a multifunctional neurocognitive disorder, based on a limited structure to perform nodal-synaptic interrelationships between the contents of learning. Likewise, this disorder may be associated with a set of comorbid symptom groups, which, regarding their intensity, may border with ASD main diagnosis and lead to basic errors that affect subsequent social- educational treatment. This study analyses most recurrent associated comorbid groups, as well as, if the presence of symptomatic comorbid groups is differential regarding group shape: normotypical and ASD groups. A total of 390 children participated in this study, 128 belonged to normotypical group and 262 did it to experimental group, subdivided into three levels of ASD. Results found through multivariate- test indicate that the whole dimension significantly affects group way intersection, age and sex (sig: .00). The post-hoc test analysis indicates this influence was      differential regarding to the group type for the following dimensions: cognition, behaviour, psychoaffectivity, language and psychomotor disorder, while relative differences were not observed in specific- clinical dimension, where only epilepsy showed a differential result: no differences were found in general- clinic dimension.Lay abstract ASD´ diagnosis and treatment shows, to date, many weak points that need to be improved. Previous studies have shown how important is the psycho-educational component regarding ASD treatment, therefore it is necessary to understand the specific characteristics of the nuclear ASD diagnosis, in order to work out a specific therapy according to every single case. In the current study, we examined and analysed ASD patients as well as participants showing comorbid symptoms such as epilepsy, in order to show how these comorbidities can reach a very high level, leading to a confused and wrong ASD nuclear diagnosis. Therefore, it is essential to gain more insight into the specific diagnosis process, defining the ASD symptoms very precisely in order to develop more accurate and specific educational programs. This study contributes to the improvement in ASD diagnosis, providing a large number of participants in order to study the relation between several comorbid symptoms and its reliability as ASD indicative factors or not.

Application of methodology 5s in an industrial assembly company in the City of Manaus, AM 方法5在美国马瑙斯市一家工业装配公司的应用

The 5S Program is used to promote quality management in any business environment that seeks growth in its niche, minimizing process losses, costs and waste, increasing production and product quality. Thus, this article aims to demonstrate the improvements implemented with the application of the 5S Program in the machining sector in an assembly company Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM) that focuses on a pull production system. The research is of an applied nature, consisting of a bibliographical survey and a case study in the assembly company from July to October 2022. In the application of the tolerated meanings, the organization of items that were being used, as well as those that admitted were unused, disposal of worn-out materials that could no longer be used, accommodation of tools and equipment in their proper places, so that everyone could have access. The sense of cleanliness was applied to the use of cleaning kits allocated in supports oriented to the five production lines of the machining sector. The sense of standardization determined the cleaning of the machines in three stages, in a total time of 6 minutes, the sense of self-discipline, requires verification with more time, to identify whether the principles become a company culture. The benefits identified from the implementation of 5S are the elimination of waste, optimization of time and space, teamwork, improvements in health, reduction of accidents etc.

Stolen dreams: Youth in poor communities on the Coast of Paraná – Brazil 被偷走的梦想:巴西帕拉纳岛海岸贫困社区的年轻人

Brazil is going through a period of instability in the economic and social areas, resulting from a model of governmental management that cares little, especially for the new generations. In this context, a descriptive exploratory study was carried out with 173 young people about the problems faced in building the future. The study revealed that the average age was 19.24 years old and the average income was USD 270 for a family with an average of 4.6 people, without their own residence. 40% of these families did not have formal employment. 36.5% of young people felt deeply discouraged about the future, and among the reasons revealed by them there were the absence of a minimum income (39.9%), difficulty in accessing free public education (28%), low job offer that can reconcile with studies (22%), not considering themselves capable of overcoming difficulties (18%) and fear of failure (14%). According to the perception of all respondents, public policies to encourage minorities and access to education and work have been dilapidated in recent years and that has been the main cause that prevents the future desired by new generations.

Incidence of cognitive processing dimension for the diagnostic reliability of level-1 autism spectrum disorder 认知加工维度对一级自闭症谱系障碍诊断信度的影响

Diagnostic processes of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) just based over the observation of target- behaviors, regarding to interaction and social communication (social) and restrictive behavior (behavior), seem be most effective for level 2-3 ASD specific diagnosis; however, level 1 ASD diagnosis may be many errors, since the scores sum are within limits corresponding the other specific personality or social communication disorders (American Psychiatric Association (APA), 2013). For this reason, it´s needs complement the analysis of variables that make up the perceptual- cognitive dimension of information processing to specify the diagnosis validity and avoid initial errors that can create important prejudices along educational processes. This study delimits the differential analysis of 3 dimensions on total of 38 participants with level 1 ASD. Indeed, results indicate that, although the constant of diagnostic predictive analysis found through the linear regression analysis shows significant data for diagnosis synthesis, it´s owing to critical influence of cognitive processing dimension: .00, while other 2 dimensions analyzed individually show non-significant influence, being critical significant level for social dimension: .12 and behavior dimension: .35. Therefore, it´s need design diagnostic scales that include the basic principles of perceptual-cognitive processing functioning to avoid errors in autism diagnosis.

Military Physical Preparation for The Category B/2021 Jungle Operations Course B类/2021丛林作战课程的军事物理准备

This work is an experience report about the Physical Training Program developed with officers of the Military Police of Pará (PMPA), belonging to specialized commands of the corporation. The objective was to describe the specific training for the Physical Aptitude Test developed with the lieutenants indicated to participate in the Jungle Operations Course (COS) category B. Two combatant officers (lieutenants) of PMPA, aged 30 years male, participated in the experiment. As a result, substantial gains were obtained in both physical conditioning, due mainly to the improvement in their body measurements. It was concluded that physical fitness results from regular physical activity, based on the observation that the instructors had not been practicing physical exercises frequently.

The objective was to describe the specific training for the Physical Aptitude Test developed with the lieutenants indicated to participate in the Jungle Operations Course (COS) category B. Two combatant officers (lieutenants) of PMPA, aged 30 years male, participated in the experiment. As a result, substantial gains were obtained in both physical conditioning, due mainly to the improvement in their body measurements. Teachers Experiences on Remote Learning During the Covid-19 Period 新冠肺炎疫情期间教师远程学习体会

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared Covid-19 a global pandemic in March 2020, and warned about its highly contagious nature. Throughout the first quarter of 2020 many governments closed their schools temporarily in response to COVID-19 spread where more than 1.5 billion enrolled students of all ages from all around the globe experienced interruption of education. This aimed at reducing the chances of humans infecting each other with Covid-19, especially in places humans interact closely including educational institutions. This paper explores the experiences of the teachers on remote learning during the covid-19 period in four counties in Kenya gathered through a survey conducted in February 2021, collecting data by administering both open and closed ended questionnaire. The objectives of this study were to establish:  availability of digital infrastructure for remote learning; the digital teaching and learning resources used by teachers in remote learning and teachers digital pedagogical skills necessary for remote learning. Distance education and online collaborative learning theories are discussed. A total of 116 teachers in both primary and secondary schools in Kenya responded to a questionnaire consisting of both quantitative and qualitative questions, with qualitative data analysed thematically and quantitative data with descriptive statistics. The result indicates that the teachers faced technological and pedagogical challenges teaching through remote learning. This study is intended to provide an early contribution to the understanding of teachers experiences in remote learning during the pandemic, an historical documentation, a point of reference for similar studies in the future and, hopefully, a first step towards collective reflection on possible avenues of development for our educational system build on informed policy decision making.

Organization isomorphism and the search for knowledge and its influence on innovative performance 组织同构与知识探索及其对创新绩效的影响

This research sought to analyse the occurrence of organizational isomorphism and search for knowledge among the companies participating in the Local Productive Arrangement of Confections of Taquaral - GO, observing the effects of these elements on the innovative performance of the arrangement. As a methodological path, the exploratory and descriptive nature is recognized. As for the research design, it is understood as a survey, using the scale created by Zhang & Hu (2017). The practice of imitation (organizational isomorphism) by companies was observed, taking into account the two types of knowledge: exploratory and exploitative. It was found that there are institutional practices and strategic actions by the cluster organizations that have isomorphic characteristics, both for coercive and normative nature and for mimetics, in individual and also integrated formats. A framework was developed that demonstrated how organizational isomorphism influences the search for knowledge (Exploratory and Exploitative) in which it was seen that companies are able to innovate in models and materials through imitation, but innovation of processes and new technologies is quite incipient, due to technical and financial incapacity.

Effect of teacher motivation and instructional methodologies on student outcomes in integrated science in the upper east region, Ghana 加纳上东部地区教师动机和教学方法对综合科学学生成绩的影响

This study's focus was to ascertain how teaching strategies and teacher motivation affected students' performance in integrated science in Ghana's Upper East. The researcher employed a survey design. Heads of senior high schools and teachers of integrated science constitute the study's population. Purposeful and straightforward random samplings were utilised to choose the respondents. 84 respondents made up the sample, comprising 80 integrated science teachers and 4 school heads. A structured questionnaire served as the primary tool, and the Statistical Package for Social Sciences was used to analyse the data (SPSS). The data analysis revealed that a large percentage of integrated science instructors (52.5%) thought that teacher motivation led them to perform in-depth study in order to teach effectively. Additionally, it was found that every integrated science instructor stated that skilled teachers employ effective teaching strategies to raise student achievement.

Impacts of COVID-19 pandemic on solid medical waste management in a hospital environment COVID-19大流行对医院环境中固体医疗废物管理的影响

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the increase in the generation of solid health-care waste can be understood as a factor related to the incidence of SARS-CoV-2 cases and its impacts on society. This investigation aimed to verify the consequences of the increase in solid health-care waste as well as the response practices to the handling of these materials in times of a pandemic. A documentary analysis regarding the generation of solid health-care waste was developed at the Hospital de Clínicas of the Federal University of Uberlândia located in Uberlândia/Minas Gerais, Brazil. The results showed that the increase in the generation of solid health-care waste increased significantly in the hospital. The study suggests the implementation of a continuing education program for the health professionals of the institution, in order to reinforce knowledge about the management of solid health-care waste.
