The objective of this work is to develop an IoT bottle of mineral water. The system will periodically check your water level, when it is empty, it will automatically fill it from another common carboy that is at ground level, thus avoiding the repetitive effort of changing carboys. This system was implemented to serve the elderly, people with special needs and the general public, through a low-cost microcontroller, NodeMCU ESP8266, using a horizontal float-type water level sensor, a mini diaphragm water pump and a relay. In addition, the platform allows the monitoring and control of metrics through an MQTT application for Android.

An LQR-based Control design and gain tuning strategies proposals for a multi-agent system are presented in this article, the agents are connected in an undirected graph. Controller gains tuning are adjusted by selecting the Q and R weighting matrices of the Linear Quadratic Regulator. Agreement (consensus) is one of the fundamental problems in multi-agent control, where a set of agents must agree on a joint state value. In the proposed design, first considering that the behavior of the agreement protocol is undirected and static, the main objective is to highlight the complexity of the relationship between the convergence properties of this protocol and the structure of adjacent interconnections. The effects on the formation due to static geometry are analyzed from the resulting data according to the proximity between the agents, where behavior and stability are analyzed based on the desired formation geometry through the construction of the Laplacian matrix.

In this work, a Fuzzy logic model was developed using the Fuzzy Logic Toolbox™ of the MATLAB® software, for monitoring the corrosivity potential in oil pipelines whose corrosion mechanism is predominantly by microbiological action. With the use of operational parameters, the model presents itself as an alternative to conventional monitoring methods, allowing to infer the corrosion rate in the pipeline, and therefore, the corrosivity potential. The model was applied to an oil pipeline and its results were compared with conventional monitoring methods. The analysis of the results concluded that the model can be used as a monitoring method for pipelines with those predominant corrosion mechanisms, helping to manage the integrity of oil pipelines.

This work aims to create and validate a Bilingual Video Material (BVM), supported by the concepts of Environmental Education (EE), Green Chemistry (GC) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in an inclusive class of the high school level in Brazil, thus enabling the inclusion of the deaf in a more accessible way, based on the cultural artifacts of the Deaf Community. Therefore, through a qualitative and participatory research, it was possible to verify the efficiency in the adoption of the bilingual teaching methodology. This didactic strategy proved to be a great ally of accessibility (in Portuguese and in Brazilian Sign Language - LIBRAS) for the inclusion of deaf people, especially when based on the contextualization with EE, GC and SDGs in an interdisciplinary approach.

The city of Manaus has numerous waterways in its urban perimeter, and, despite this, there is a shortage of measures aimed at protecting water resources that has generated occupations very close to the riverbeds. This work aims to characterize a watershed in an urban area of Manaus and map the areas subject to flooding around the Franceses Stream. The methodology applied involved obtaining topographic and thematic information such as morphology, geographical location, elevations, extent, area, level curves (water dividers) of the basin, obtained through georeferenced satellite images in a GIS environment.In addition, monthly satellite precipitation via the CHIRPS product was used for the calculations. The physical characteristics of the basin were determined using equations employed in hydrology. The results indicated that the Franceses Stream basin is not subject to major flooding, presenting the following characteristics: compactness coefficient Kc = 5.71; form factor Kf = 0.36; circularity index Ic = 0.03; drainage density Dd = 0.94km-1. It was also found that, despite the intense occupation, there is preserved vegetation within the basin. It was concluded that the precipitation estimated by CHIRPS is efficient because it has a larger coverage, and that knowing the characteristics of watersheds in urban environments is of great importance to subsidize intervention measures and planning policies that ensure the protection of water resources and minimize inconvenience to the population. It was also found that the use of GIS is an important tool for analyzing information in hydrological studies, and that it needs to become an increasingly applied tool in urban management, so that the knowledge obtained can be used to obtain better environmental and social conditions.

The machine control has always been a task, carried out exclusively by people who do not work directly on the production lines, so people directly involved in production do not need to worry about the materials needed for their work, and with this model there was difficulty when product supply. Therefore, the objective of this research was to identify benefits and results in the application of the Kanban system in a marine engine maintenance company, in the warehouse sector, added to the selection of literature that conceptualized the mechanism of the system; the identification of the process, from the organization of maintenance parts, as a way to facilitate the maintenance of marine engines. The company studied, founded in 2014, headquartered in the city of Manaus/AM, specializes in marine engine maintenance, with machinery as its main sector. The company has vacancies ranging from 11 to 50 employees annually, according to demands and times of the year. The methodology addressed is of a mixed nature, being part bibliographical in order to select works for the basis and better understanding of the subject, and part case study, since the maritime maintenance company will be the focus of this article. The kanban system determines the quantity of supply so that bottlenecks do not occur with regard to the company's production. Regarding the updating of the table, every day you should check which are the stocks with the highest degree of demand, indicated by the color red, being possible and necessary to pass on to the replacement sector, the missing products. the control system was installed by means of plates that indicated the quantity of parts they had and with that, it could be predicted which parts were priorities in reallocation in the stock, replacing mainly products and fundamental parts for the continuity of the maintenance. After applying this process, it was possible to easily identify the needs and speed up the notes of the company's technical staff with the supply sector (purchases), as well as to avoid the constant lack of “priority” parts in the maintenance process. The performance of the kanban production system applied to the marine engine company was concluded, since the nameplates of the missing parts became much more visible, optimizing the replacement process of pending parts. This production technique presented in the study is of great importance in today's world, as it focuses on the quality of the production process and the quality of finished products offered to the market, making the company that has this system solidify and can remain competitive.

The year 2020 was marked by the beginning of the intense journey against Covid-19, which brought strong impacts to Brazilian education. In view of this, the educational system began to adapt to the “new normal” and, with this, problems arose in adapting to virtual education, especially in the scope of School Inclusion (SI) of the deaf public, since social distancing requires significant attention in the use of aspects of communication and online technologies. These difficulties were more prominent, especially in the discipline of Chemistry, which is not detached from experimentation. Thus, the research demonstrates the need for better approaches to SI in Emergency Remote Education (ERE), especially in Chemistry contextualized to Environmental Education (EE). This work aims to adopt Active Methodologies (AM) and it is justified in offering activities aimed at the interassociations between Chemistry and EE, through the Case Study (CS) method. These actions addressed the principles of Green Chemistry (GC) and the 6th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) on drinking water and sanitation. The development of the work occurred remotely in an inclusive class. The results of the research demonstrated the importance of using inclusive methodologies that favor the construction of effective knowledge and enable the exchange of knowledge in a bilingual and accessible environment. Thus, the adaptation or development of new didactic methodologies can change the reality of Brazilian education.

Chronic wounds are a big challenge in contemporary society, as they lead to a decrease in life-quality, amputations and even death. Infections and biofilm formation might occur with chronic wounds, due to the higher susceptibility to antibiotic multi-resistant bacteria. In this situation, novel wound dressing biomaterials are needed for treatment. Thus, the aim of this research was to evaluate a possible BNC interaction with tucumã oil/butter-derived fatty acids, as this system could be a promising biomaterial for wound treating. The interaction between cellobiose (BNC basic unit) and four fatty acids was evaluated by ab initio simulations and density functional theory (DFT), through SIESTA code. Molecular docking was also used to investigate the effect of a possible releasing of the studied fatty acids to the quorum-sensing proteins of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (gram-negative bacterium) and Staphylococcus aureus (gram-positive bacterium). According to ab initio simulations, the interaction between cellobiose and fatty acids derived from tucumã oil/butter was suggested due to physical adsorption (energy around 0.17-1.33 eV) of the lipidic structures into cellobiose. A great binding affinity (∆G ranging from 4.2-8.2 kcal.mol-1) was observed for both protonated and deprotonated fatty acids against P. aeruginosa (LasI, LasA and Rhlr) and S. aureus (ArgA and ArgC) quorum-sensing proteins, indicating that these bioactive compounds might act as potential antimicrobial and/or antibiofilm agents in the proposed system. Hence, from a theoretical viewpoint, the proposed system could be a promising raw biomaterial in the production of chronic wound dressings.

With the development of the times, fluid simulation technology has been used in university courses. As many university courses are too theoretical and difficult to understand, in order to achieve better learning results, the author believes that visualizing abstract concepts with simulation tools can help promote the course and enable students to achieve ideal learning results. This course introduces CFD, a fluid simulation tool. Through learning this course, students can more deeply understand the principles of fluid mechanics and enhance their understanding and application ability of theoretical knowledge through simulation practice.

Food retailing industry has expanded commensurate to the growing requirements of a bulging world population. Initially, most retailers depended on external suppliers for most of their stock. The suppliers controlled the branding and pricing elements. This has since evolved with retailers having exponentially grown, endowing them with the ability to support their own brands.In addition to the inherent additional capability, changing business dynamics have meant that retailers have introduced additional aspects to their in-store brands. These brands which have been developed in-house have grown in scale and reach but still limited to branded stores. Food retailing has spawned lateral branded stores with respect to their food characteristics.The study has focused on evaluating the myriad factors that have sufficiently influenced consumer psychographics when choosing private store brands instead of commercial name brands. This was achieved by analyzing; general marketing strategies, effective branding, pricing and associated discounting, and general attractiveness of store brands.The condensed objective was dissected into related sub-objectives including; the marketing strategies that have been pursued by food retailers in promoting their own brands, factors that influence preference for store brands in relation to pricing, discounts, psychographic dynamics, existence of promotion thresholds and their overall influence on purchasing habits.Research was undertaken using qualitative methods by surveying the emerging trends that have supported the growth of store brands. Price comparisons were made from empirical data collected from several outlets while the survey was conducted on consumer responses to pricing and discounting. The resultant data was evaluated and represented in tables and charts to support the primary objective of the research.

Initially, most retailers depended on external suppliers for most of their stock. The suppliers controlled the branding and pricing elements. This has since evolved with retailers having exponentially grown, endowing them with the ability to support their own brands.In addition to the inherent additional capability, changing business dynamics have meant that retailers have introduced additional aspects to their in-store brands. These brands which have been developed in-house have grown in scale and reach but still limited to branded stores. Food retailing has spawned lateral branded stores with respect to their food characteristics.The study has focused on evaluating the myriad factors that have sufficiently influenced consumer psychographics when choosing private store brands instead of commercial name brands. This was achieved by analyzing; general marketing strategies, effective branding, pricing and associated discounting, and general attractiveness of store brands.The condensed objective was dissected into related sub-objectives including; the marketing strategies that have been pursued by food retailers in promoting their own brands, factors that influence preference for store brands in relation to pricing, discounts, psychographic dynamics, existence of promotion thresholds and their overall influence on purchasing habits.Research was undertaken using qualitative methods by surveying the emerging trends that have supported the growth of store brands. Price comparisons were made from empirical data collected from several outlets while the survey was conducted on consumer responses to pricing and discounting. The resultant data was evaluated and represented in tables and charts to support the primary objective of the research.","PeriodicalId":13726,"journal":{"name":"International journal for innovation education and research","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90530208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
