Organo -phosphorus compounds have been imported to India since 1952 but we got awareness of the nature of these compounds when the Kerala food poisoning tragedy occurred in 1958. Organophosphorus compounds with effective control and eradication of the pets and insects affecting the plants and crops became a boon to agriculturist and horticulturists and they revolutionized agriculture and horticulture. In our country where agriculture is the main occupation of majority of the people in rural area, the organo-phosphorous pesticides have contributed their own share in bringing the green revolution The agriculturists who use these pesticides, commonly do not follow all the precautions during spraying and become victims of the accidental acute poisoning and sometimes of chronic poisoning. Population is also at risk of chronic poisoning from those agents by ingestion of vegetables etc which contain significant amount of these compounds when they are brought to the market. The number of people who consume these pesticides for suicidal purpose is in increasingly rapidly. Aim and Objects: To study the clinical features of the organo-phosphorus poisoning in patients coming to emergency ward.

Nanoparticles are defined as particles with size in the range of 1 to 100 nm at least in one of the three dimensions. Because of this very small size scale, they possess an immense surface area per unit volume, a high proportion of atom in the surface and near surface layers, and the ability to exhibit quantum effect. Nanotechnology represents one of the most capable technologies of the 21 century. Solid lipid nanoparticles introduced in 1991 represent an alternative carrier system to traditional colloidal carriers such as emulsion, liposomes and polymeric micro and nanoparticles Nanotechnology is widely used in various cosmetic and dermatological products like lipsticks, soap, antiwrinkle cream, perfumes, toothpaste etc. Nanoparticles serve as the fundamental building block for various nanotechnology applications. Nanotechnology is one of the most capable techniques which are safe and effective for targeted drug delivery system. Nanoparticulate delivery system have been developed for good therapeutic effect with low toxicity Nanotechnology is concerned with development and utilization of structures and devices with development and utilization of structures and devices with organizational features at the intermediate scale between individual molecules and about 100 nm where nanoparticles occur as compared to bulk materials. The overall objective is to disseminate knowledge of the physical, chemical and biological phenomenon and processes in structures that have at least one length scale ranging from molecular to approximately 100nm (or submicron in some situations) and exhibit novel properties because of size. Use of carrier system in nanotechnology has added advantage of improved skin penetration, depot effect with sustained release drug action. As compared to conventional drug delivery system is more prominent and exhaustive. Nanotechnology has completely novel characteristic and application over others. Nanotechnology is a key technology leading to product innovation. Nanotechnologies use materials on an incredibly small scale so that they take on new properties compared to their larger form .The technology has the potential to transform many of the everyday consumer products that we use and wide range of product are already on the market. The focus of the article is on the specific properties, phenomenon and processes that are realized because of the nano size. Experimental and theoretical tool of investigation at nanoscale as well as synthesis, processing and utilization of particles and related nanostructure are integral part of this publication

Over the past few decades, the photovoltaic industry has grown rapidly following the improvements in the efficiency and the demand for alternative energy resources. Commercial silicon photovoltaic with a power conversion efficiency of more than 20% plays a dominate role, but the high manufacturing cost is still a major issue for large-scale implementation. Many efforts have been made to reduce the cost of photovoltaic devices. There are huge demands for developing new electrode materials with lower cost and comparable performance. To date Graphene and Graphenederived materials have created an immense research interests due to its extraordinary physical and chemical properties, which delineated Graphene as an outstanding material for future electronics, optics, and energy-harvesting devices. This paper analyzes some of these properties of graphene & investigates whether graphene or graphene based materials can be a potential replacement for conventional materials used in solar cells or not. Graphene is a single atom thick two-dimensional material thus exhibit ~97.7% transmittance during the entire visible light spectrum. Graphene has unusual electronic transfer properties which follows the characteristic of 2D Dirac fermions, quantum hall effects. Electro catalytic actions of grapheme play a key role enhancing the efficiency of electro chemical solar cell like dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSCs), where the liquid/solid interface acts as a pathway for transfer electrons.

Elevated YKL – 40 levels are seen in patients with type 2 diabetes.Interleukin-6 is one of the most studied inflammatory markers in periodontal disease. Aim was to estimate and compare GCF levels of YKL-40 and Interleukin-6 in healthy, chronic periodontitis and type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with chronic periodontitis.82 patients were enrolled into the study and divided into three experimental groups healthy group, chronic periodontitis group and chronic periodontitis with type 2 diabetes mellitus group. Gingivalcrevicular fluid samples were collected and YKL-40 and Interleukin-6 were analysed by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. The total amount of YKL-40 and IL-6 in GCF were higher in patients with periodontal tissue breakdown. Within the limits of this study it can be concluded that YKL-40 in GCF may reflect the inflammation of periodontitis and can be a useful marker for inflammation in periodontal diseases and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
