Moringa oleifera Lam. belongs to the Moringaceae family, popularly known as Sahijana, Shigru, Shobhanjana, Krishnagandha etc. The importance of Shigru in treatment has been mentioned in various classical texts for ages. Different parts of the drug, i.e., stem bark, leaves, seed, pods, root, etc., contain many chemical constituents that are significant in pharmacology. Pharmacognostical and phytochemical analyses are essential for proper identification and authentication of the drug. Materials and method: Shigru kanda twaka churna and Shigru patra churna were evaluated separately for pharmacognostical, physicochemical, and phytochemical studies. It also included a qualitative test for detecting protein, carbohydrate, ascorbic acid, sterols, and terpenes as per the Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia of India (A.P.I.). Results: The correct identity and authenticity of the drug sample were confirmed by its organoleptic study, powder microscopy, and phytochemical study, comparing them with features mentioned in A.P.I., and then certified by subject experts in Govt. Drug testing laboratory, Dist. Gwalior M.P. and Institute of Pharmacy, Vikram University Ujjain M.P. Conclusion: Based on the present study, we can conclude that both the sample drugs were authentic, pure and followed standard parameters of A.P.I.

Haemorrhoids are a prevalent anorectal condition. It is of two types: Internal and external. A thrombosed haemorrhoid is a variety of external haemorrhoids in which there is painful swelling in anal tissue caused by a clot in a small vein of the anal skin. Case presentation: A 35 year old male patient visited OPD with complaints of protrusion of mass outside the anal region, constipation and pain during defecation. Routine clinical examinations and investigations are done. Diagnosis and management: Based on clinical examination, the case was diagnosed as thrombosed haemorrhoids and suggested for Jalaukavacharana on an OPD basis. The treatment aims to relieve the pain and reduce the inflammation. Outcome: There is marked improvement in thrombosed haemorrhoids. The inflammation is reduced with relief from pain. Discussion: Satisfactory results were obtained with a decrease in the size of haemorrhoids and relief from pain. This case highlights that Jalaukavacharana is a very effective treatment for thrombosed haemorrhoids.

(Euphorbia neriifolia Linn.) is included in Upavisha as per Ayurvedic classics, and according to modern toxicology, it is classified as irritant organic vegetable poison. It is an active ingredient of many Ayurvedic formulations like Chitrakadi taila, Jatyadi varti, Snuhi kshara etc. These formulations are widely used to treat disease conditions like Shotha (Edema), Dushivisha, Aamdosha, etc. Before administering any potential drug to humans, it is essential to evaluate its safety in animals to define safe human doses through validated scientific toxicity studies. Hence, there is a need to conduct toxicity studies of Snuhi and its phytoconstituents in various extract forms to recognise its safety from the perspective of the Globally Harmonised Classification System. In this article, a special emphasis is done on gathering details on acute and subacute oral toxicity studies of Snuhi (Euphorbia neriifolia Linn.)

Traditional Ayurvedic therapy called padabhyanga involves massaging the foot with warm oil infused with herbs. It is claimed to be a component of the dinacharya (daily Ayurvedic routine) for sustaining good health. The health of the feet and foot care plays a significant role in the body's overall well-being. According to ancient Ayurvedic scriptures, “Diseases do not go near one who massages his feet before sleeping, just as snakes do not approach eagles.” Worsening lifestyle changes and excessive use of screens on computers, TVs, and mobile devices worsen ocular clarity and generate different netra roga. Abhyanga (massage) to the feet makes the feet strong (sthairya) and induces sleep (nidra). According to Charaka and Vagbhata, padabhyanga is described as dristiprasadaka and according to Sushruta chakshushya. The chakshu gets benefits and shows its specific action over the visual pathway. Here, an attempt has been made to review the information on pada abhyanga in the visual pathway.

Introduction: Autism spectrum disorders are conditions characterised by impaired social interaction communication skills and associated stereotypic, restrictive and repetitive behavioural patterns. According to a WHO report, it is estimated that worldwide, about one in 100 children has ASD. In India, according to the calculation of the Rehabilitation Council of India, the prevalence rate is 1 in 500 or 0.2%. Multimodal management approach of Ayurveda comprising herbal supplements, Ayurveda compounds, and panchakarma therapies. In Ayurvedic literature, Acharyas mention three types of chikitsa for the whole body and mind level- daivavyapashraya, yuksivyapashraya and satvavjaya chikitsa. These treatments benefit autistic children by a different mechanism of action and improve their quality of life. It concluded that Ayurveda provides safe, effective, cheap and untoward effect-free management along with enhancing the quality of life for people living with ASD and bringing back smiles on parents' faces.

Ayurveda is called the science of life. It teaches us not only to deal with disease but also how to improve and maintain health. Along with modern anatomy, terms like marma, kurcha, and asthisamghat gave precise information about sharir rachana. The knowledge about the structural part of hast and parv pradesh helps the treatment. The human body is designed for grasping, precise movements and for serving as a tactile organ. There is a big area in the brain's motor cortex for muscles. Sandhi is formed by more than one bone, ligament and other structures. They are essential for locomotion and various movements of the body. There are two hundred and ten sandhi’s in body, and they play various movements. Small sandhi is called khuda sandhi. They are fifteen in number, according to Acharya Sushruta.

Ayurveda is the science which places more emphasis on the prevention of disease and maintenance of health rather than simply treating it. This is achieved by following a strict pathya-apathya. Nowadays, the most common factors inducing hair fall include stress, major illnesses, medication use, depression, family history, autoimmune disease, hormonal imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, etc. Approximately 50% of Indians are losing hair faster than ever, and the current beauty industry has destroyed hair quality with poor-quality hair products. As hair fall is a complex problem, Ayurveda believes it’s the effect of internal imbalances. Ayurveda has shown promising results in preventing hair fall and regrowth through herbal products and lifestyle modification. It has been observed that many herbs and their extracts have proven good results in such cases. For this article, we have compiled and critically analyzed the ayurvedic concept of nidana and chikitsa mentioned in different classics for this alarming condition.

Introduction: Hypertension is a complex clinical illness with a frequency of 40.8 percent in the urban Indian population and 17.9 percent in the rural population. Multiple antihypertensives are used to treat hypertension. However, many have adverse effects and are hazardous. NIA/DG/2015/01 is a polyherbal antihypertensive ayurvedic ghan formulation, containing Arjuna (Terminalia arjuna Roxb.), Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera Linn.), Jatamansi (Nardostachys jatamansi DC.), Shankhpushpi (Convolvulus pluricaulis Choisy.), Punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa Linn.). Aim and objective: To evaluate a polyherbal antihypertensive Ayurvedic formulation [NIA/DG/2015/01] in terms of pharmacognosy, physiochemistry, phytochemistry and chromatography. Materials and methods: A polyherbal antihypertensive ayurvedic formulation [NIA/DG/2015/01] was evaluated for purity, safety, and quality using pharmaco-gnostical, physiochemical, phytochemical, and chromatographic methods. Observations and Results: The pharmaco-gnostical, physiochemical, phytochemical, and chromatographic results were within normal limits per API. Conclusion: The present sample of a polyherbal antihypertensive ayurvedic formulation [NIA/DG/2015/01] met quality standards for purity, safety and authenticity.
