The authors have designed a neuro-fuzzy controller to improve some problems that occur when the nonlinear system is controlled by a fuzzy logic controller. Their model obtains fast-time response, maximized learning effect and shortened settling time. To prove the capability of the neuro-fuzzy controller designed in this paper, this neuro-fuzzy model is applied to a DC servomotor. As a result, this controller does not produce overshoot, which occurs in the PID controller, and also does not produce the steady state error of FLC. Also, it shortens the settling time by about 10%. In addition, the authors are aware that their model has only about 60% of the value of current peak of the PID controller.

This paper mainly introduces the principles and constructions of two new available electronic current transducers; one is based on the Rogowski coil and the other is the low power current transducer (LPCT). Meanwhile authors compare the phase displacement of output voltage, the frequency range, the applicable fields and the sensitivity to temperature field and etc. between these two kinds of electronic current transducers.

This paper analyses a new point dispersal method that uses a direct interpolation function to build the relationship among internal dispersal points. For the boundary condition that is rather a problem faced by all point dispersal methods we use a basic electromagnetic integral equation. This method exerts the advantage of convenient pre-processing of the point dispersal method to solve the boundary value problem of an electromagnetic field. In this paper, its application on a power transformer is given to verify the proposed method.

The three-dimensional electric field inside a 3-phase common enclosure SF/sub 6/ GIS was calculated by the finite element method. From the calculating results the electric field distribution on the surface of the porcelain pole type insulator and disc type insulator were derived. To be associated with the calculating results an experimental research was taken and the breakdown voltage was measured.

In this paper, the method of measuring AC magnetization characteristics of magnetic steel sheets with a single sheet tester (SST) is studied. With the help of a computer, the AC magnetization characteristics can be measured automatically under the condition of ensuring the waveform of flux density B to be sinusoidal.

A technical diagnostic type expert system is essentially a computer software system combining artificial intelligence technique with equipment fault diagnosis technique. It uses special knowledge and a method provided by experts which simulates the inference process of experts to solve some complicated and important problems. In this paper, we introduce the expert system for fault diagnosis of a DC motor and also describe the method for enhancing diagnosis hit-rate.

A hierarchical solution procedure of finite element methods using the multi-resolution property of wavelets is proposed. The characteristics of the proposed procedure is that (1) an approximation with a coarse mesh is determined firstly, and (2) then the approximation is refined hierarchically without any requirement for remeshing. Therefore, the proposed method seems more attractive for problems involving greedy gradients in only a small sub-region such as thin skin effect study of iron materials in high frequency fields. Numerical example is designed to demonstrate the hierarchical nature of the proposed method.

This paper describes a full digital system to control a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) used in electric vehicle (EV) driving by TMS320C240 DSP. In view of the operation characteristic of EV, a fuzzy-PI control strategy is presented based on the field orientated control (FOC) and space vector technique in order to utilize reluctance torque of PMSM effectively. Due to the compensation for torque changes resulting from d-axis current in real-time, the system maintains high efficiency in all range of speed. The combination of fewer components and the improved control strategy enables the system to fulfil enhanced operation performance of EV.

In order to attain global optimal or quasioptimum solution for power transformers design, some interrelated key techniques such as encoding scheme, genetic operators, constrained condition, fitness function for the simple genetic algorithm (SGA) are further reformed and researched. An improved genetic algorithm (IGA) is developed in this paper and applied to the optimum design of S9 power transformers for the first time. In addition, a multi-objective algorithm based on IGA is applied successfully in the double objective optimum design of S9 power transformers, by using the theory of variable weight coefficients for the multi-objective optimization. All the achievements in the paper are verified by a representative mathematical example and a practical S9-1000/10 kV power transformer. All the optimization results are satisfactory and show that IGA has powerful ability of global searching, excellent solution precision and has a bright application prospect in the fields of power transformers design.
