Homeschooling is a subject of great fascination, but little solid knowledge. Despite its importance, it has received less research attention than some other recent changes in the educational system, such as the growth of charter schools. It could be argued that home schooling may have a much larger impact on educational system, both in the short and long run. Despite the fact that some people are against the homeschooling scheme, most developing nations have introduced it and made it legal. In this study a small attempt has been made to understand the concept of homeschooling and its view in Indian perspective. Homeschooling is not commonly used in India, but it has increased in popularity in recent years. Homeschooling is often confused with online education in India. Homeschooling is not connected with e-learning or online learning. As per the RTE Act there is no scope for Homeschooling in India, so there is a need of certain amendments in the Act.

Over the last four decades a number of recording studios have been developed on small islands. The first group of these were in warm water locales, exploiting the standard appeal of the tropics as places of rest and tranquillity. More recently a number of studios have developed in cold water islands, promoting the natural environment (and sometimes less than temperate weather) as encouraging reflection and creativity. This article analyses one aspect of the latter, in the form of the Visitations artistin-residency programme run by Lost Map Records on the Scottish Isle of Eigg. Several of the musicians who have participated in residencies collected sounds from around Eigg that were embedded in original compositions. This has involved the extension of the studio space into the landscape in a process that stands in contrast to the traditional role of studios to insulate recordings from the external world. This article identifies that the first series of Visitations residences produced musical engagements with Eigg that represent the emotional geographies experienced by the musicians in relation to the landscape, providing more locally grounded projects than those produced in more traditional studios on warm water islands.

Oxidative stress plays a major role in melanocyte destruction in vitiligo, however the exact mechanism responsible for melanocyte death remains uncertain. We aimed to examine the effect of oxidative stress on melanocyte viability by MTT assay and expression of antioxidant genes (CAT, GPX1, G6PD and PRDX3), stress related genes (HSP60, HSP70, SERP1, SIRT1 and POLH) and melanocyte specific genes (MITF, TYR, TYRP1, TRPM1, EDN1, EZR and LAMP1) by real-time PCR upon exposing the normal human melanocytes (NHM), immortalized melanocytes derived from healthy human (PIG1) and from vitiligo patient (PIG3V) to cumene hydroperoxide (CHP). The transcript levels of selected genes were estimated by using real-time PCR. The NHM, PIG1 and PIG3V melanocytes showed significant decrease in viability under CHP (10-100μM) induced oxidative stress. PIG3V displayed significantly increased expression of PRDX3, HSP70, SERP1, POLH as well as decreased expression of CAT, MITF, TYR, TYRP1, TRPM1, EDN1 and LAMP1 under CHP (10 & 20μM) treatment, as compared to NHM and/or PIG1 melanocytes. These results suggest that vitiligo melanocytes are more sensitive to CHP induced oxidative stress, as compared to normal melanocytes. The present study demonstrates that vitiligo may result from an insufficient response of melanocytes to oxidative stress induced by high H2O2 levels.

High blood pressure is a condition where the systolic blood pressure is >140 mmHg and diastolic >90 mmHg. Hypertension is one of the leading causes of death in the world. The factors that cause hypertension are genetics, age, obesity, lifestyle, stress, and food consumption patterns. Continuous exposure to carbon monoxide gas at high concentrations can also cause an increase in blood pressure. This study aims to analyze the relationship of characteristics, lifestyle, and exposure of carbon monoxide with blood pressure of motorcycle repair shop mechanics at Medan City. This study is an observational study using a cross-sectional design. This research was conducted at 12 workshops in 6 sub-districts in Medan City. The sample in this study amounted to 70 mechanics. Carbon monoxide exposure data were calculated using the intake formula in the ARKL study. Mechanical blood pressure data were obtained by direct measurement twice with an interval of five minutes using a sphygmomanometer. Data analysis using bivariate test. The results showed that 54.3 percent of mechanics had high blood pressure and there was one workshop that had a CO concentration in the air that exceeded the quality standard value, namely 31,329.2 μg/Nm3. There was a significant relationship between a history of hypertension (p=0.005), smoking habits (p=0.001), physical activity (p=0.006), and sodium intake (p=0.015) with blood pressure. There was no significant relationship between exposure of carbon monoxide and systolic pressure (p=0.067) and diastolic (p=0.606). Mechanics should be able to change and control risky lifestyles by increasing physical activity, controlling cigarette consumption, reducing sodium consumption, routinely going to health services and taking hypertension drugs for mechanics who have high blood pressure.
