The concept of translation has been considered as a social, philosophical and cultural phenomenon in the last few decades. Russian and foreign researchers treat the translation as “crossroads of cultures”, sciences and human morality, thus expressing its role in the process of intercultural communication. Translation is not a cultural phenomenon, but it “is culture” itself. The communication effect of translation is directly dependent on its main (communicative) function. On the other hand, translation has an aesthetic function of presenting and protecting nation’s culture in the text. The text of the translation, being a tool in the process of cross-cultural communication, at the same time turns out to be an element belonging to two systems simultaneously – the original culture and the culture of the recipient. The system of language and the system of culture reflect their functions in different ways. The aesthetic and semantic value of a literary work, its uniqueness and openness to interpretation as a fact of culture contradicts its communicative aim is to be understood by the recipient. Therefore, the article represents the views of researchers on the problem of translation as a unique phenomenon of cross-cultural communication, on such concepts as the adequacy and equivalence of translation. The purpose of translation is to create a text that can completely replace the original in the process of cross-language communication. As an example, the analysis of realia translation from P. P. Yershov's fairy tale "Konek-Gorbunok” (Humpbacked Horse) in German and English versions is introduced. Keywordstranslation; translation method; theory of translation; culture; adequacy; equivalence; intercultural communication; translation text; original text; recipient; communicative effect; transmitted information

—The folklore of any nation is a complex system of oral works which interacts with other systems of spiritual life, such as literature, social and political life of society, etc. Folklore texts can be incorporated into the life of people naturally or introduced into the global information space through written texts (literature, media, scientific collections of folklore texts) and stage performance. The purpose of the study is to characterize the role of the heroic song about the Kurtatins in the song repertoire and Ossetian folklore; to identify basic translation principles and strategies used by the famous Ossetian educator Gagudz Guriev. The textological search was conducted in the Scientific Archive of the North Ossetian Institute of Humanitarian and Social Research n. a. V.I. Abaev. Versions of the song texts were found. Any text of Ossetian folklore is a part of Indo-European plots, tales and archetypes. A heroic song is a genre of Ossetian folklore which transfers information and signifies the importance of events, glorifies heroes. As for the folklore text as a part of the culture, currently the song about the Kurtatins is not performed by folklore amateur or professional groups. The article aims to find out whether this song exists in the folklore environment. The study can be used to compile the index of the Folklore Fund of the Scientific Archive of the North Ossetian Institute of Humanitarian and Social Research n.a. V.I. Abaev and for other research and humanitarian purposes.

Nowadays the juvenile justice system in the Republic of Tajikistan is in initiation stage. Nevertheless, there are a number of public authorities, focusing on the regulation of legal relations, where one of the parties is a juvenile. The relevance of the research is reasoned by the fact that for professional self-realization of graduates of technical qualifications of university training, a high-level knowledge of modern Russian literary language, as well as a business style of communication, both in oral and in written form, becomes an urgent need. The methodology highlighted an aspect that implies the need to ensure conditions for the interrelation of logical and figurative thinking in order to enrich the logical chain of reasoning through interactive learning activities. To improve the effectiveness of interdisciplinary relations, the introduction of an integrated discipline “Engineering Philology” is proposed. The purpose of its components is described, the role of the subject “literature” in the cycle of philological disciplines is considered in detail, the features of teaching humanities as non-core subjects are highlighted. On the basis of theoretical research and personal experience of teaching the discipline of “Russian language and the basics of creative writing” the authors gave recommendations in order to enhance the role of this discipline in the formation of professional competencies of bachelors of technical directions. The experiment showed the relation between the development of the main educational program and the success of studying the discipline of “Russian language and the basics of creative writing”. It is concluded that engineering philology is aimed at the formation of those competencies that are not included in special disciplines and which are necessary for the future specialist as a professional and as a representative of technical

Peculiarities of pledging of securities as a method to ensure fulfillment of loan liabilities, its advantages and disadvantages as collateral form the most complicated aspect, both theoretically and practically. The complications with this type of collateral are related to a lack of special provisions in the current legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan, reflecting specific features of pledge relationships using securities. While the current civil legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan recognizes securities as a valid collateral, most regulations covering pledge relations are constructed in such a way that they reflect features of using tangible goods as collateral. Fragmented and unfinished nature of legal regulation of the relationships arising from pledge of securities gives rise to hard-to-solve problems in banking practice that are related to concluding the securities pledge contract, determining commencement of lien in the securities pledge, execution of rights covered by the pledged securities, forfeiture of the pledged securities. The purpose of this study was to identify differences in the aptitude of sprinters, stayers, and mixters for work in the Arctic. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was used. The study enrolled 618 people who were considering work in the Arctic with different degrees of probability. The respondents were divided into three groups: sprinters, stayers, and mixters. It was found that stayers had the following social and psychological characteristics which have a positive effect on their aptitude for work in the Arctic: friendliness, sociability, calmness, tranquillity, steadiness, perseverance, decisiveness, and strength. Moreover, they are self-possessed persons and less concerned with the climate and other unfavourable factors of the Arctic region. In this regard they more often (in comparison with other types) admit the possibility of work in the Arctic. Although mixters are thought to be intermediate types, it is not always so. In some cases they have the positive personal traits of stayers, while in other cases they bear more resemblance to sprinters, which is not always compatible with the manifestation of positive psychological characteristics. Therefore, mixters, similarly to sprinters, are less suitable for work in the Arctic than stayers. So, if we know the weaknesses and strengths of each type and peculiarities of their adaptation to different conditions, it will be possible to improve the appeal of the Arctic Region for young talents who would use then their professional knowledge and skills to develop the Arctic. Keywords—sprinters; stayers; mixters; arctic; adaptation
