Introduction. The brain responds to metabolic disorders with a limited array of symptoms and signs. The brain has enormous needs in terms of substrate and blood flow. Aim. This paper presents a case report reporting episode of stroke. Description of the case. The incidence of cerebral vascular episodes in the form of strokes, transient episodes of cerebral ischemia is reported. Conclusion. The chemical constituency of the brain are generally quite different from those of other tissues. Stroke is a clinical syndrome characterized by sudden focal or generalized brain dysfunction.

Introduction. Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are considered to be among the most stressful events of human body considering their onset, symptoms and the ultimate consequences. Aim. This study was conducted to provide a concise overview of cricket-related musculoskeletal pain of the upper limb and lower limb region in male adolescent cricketers. Material and methods. Data was collected from three clubs in Dhaka city, and the participant’s age group was 10-19 years. Data was collected through oral conversations with participants and physical testing. This process was continued over six months, which repeated monthly between same subjects. Results. 97 cricketers experienced musculoskeletal pain, where maximum reported upper limb musculoskeletal pain was 33.3% shoulder, 21.6% elbow, 27.5% wrist, and 17.6% hand pain. In contrast, 46 candidates were found in the lower limb musculoskeletal pain category containing 19.6%, 30.4%, 30.4% and 19.6% hip joint, knee joint, ankle joint and foot joint musculoskeletal pain, respectively. BMI had no significant effect on the typical upper and lower limb musculoskeletal pain. Batsmen playing for 4 sessions or more per week are the main victims of upper limb musculoskeletal pain. In contrast, bowlers and all-rounders were the main victims of lower limb musculoskeletal pain under similar workloads. Conclusion. This study reflects an up-to-date overview of regional upper limb and lower limb musculoskeletal pain where the risk of lower limb injury is most common among all types of players.

Introduction. Physical activity is known to be an important factor influencing health throughout human life. This issue has become crucial for public health due to the aging of the population in both developed and developing countries. Aim. is to present a literature review on the forms of physical activity undertaken by the elderly, as well as on issues related to physical activity and the population aging. Material and methods. The study was prepared on the basis of a review of Polish and foreign literature. The following databases and data sources were used: EBSCO, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar. An additional source of data were the websites of the Central Statistical Office. Strictly defined key phrases were used during the collection of literature. The work has been divided into thematic subsections on the aging of the society, the impact of physical activity on health and the main topic, i.e. forms of physical activity selected by the elderly. Analysis of the literature. The number of elderly people in Polish society has increased by almost 3.7 million over three decades. Therefore, an important topic is prophylaxis aimed at increasing the number of days in good health, largely covering the broadly understood activation of the elderly. The available data indicate that only 12% of elderly people undertake physical activity once a week. The most common form of spending free time actively is walking (as many as 73% of people in this population declare this form of physical activity in one of the presented studies). Conclusion. Organized forms of physical activity are undertaken much less frequently by the analyzed age group mainly due to financial limitations and limited availability of sports infrastructure.

Introduction. Xerostomia is one of the most common and disturbing adverse effects of systemic diseases and their therapies. This complication markedly increases the risk for dental caries, difficulties with chewing, swallowing and sleep disorders with a significant impact on the patient’s quality of life. Sjögren’s syndrome (SS) is a systemic autoimmune disease that primarily affects the exocrine glands, resulting in dryness of the mouth due to lymphocytic infiltration of the salivary glands. Aim. The aim of this paper is to present the current recommendations in diagnosing and treating SS-related xerostomia. Material and methods. Analysis of literature Results. For the assessment of SS-related xerostomia, only an unstimulated salivary flow with rates of 0.1 mL/min is included in the current SS classification criteria. Saxon test, sialography, ultrasonography of salivary glands play supporting function. Treatment of SS -related xerostomia includes an application of secretagogues and the implementation of specific dental prophylaxis measures. Adjuvant therapies include herbal remedies, photobiomodulation, and acupuncture. Conclusion. Treatment of SS requires multidisciplinary care. There is no fully effective treatment of xerostomia that provides immediate and long-lasting results.

Introduction. A teratoma is a tumor developed of several different types of tissue, like hair, muscle, teeth or bone. Aim. Mature benign cystic teratomas are very rare in the salivary glands and just few cases were reported. Description of the case. A 13 years old female was presented to our dental clinic of Princes Basma Hospital in Irbid in north of Jordan, with a painless, insidious progressive swelling in left parotid region without any significant family and personal history. Parents were cancer phobic and nervous from the condition of their daughter, they were very confused. There was no pain or any history of trauma. It was present just inferior to left ear cartilage. The mass was of size 3x3cm, non-tender, fixed, soft to firm in consistency, having smooth surface. Conclusion. Teratoma in parotid region is an extremely rare entity. Lack of any pathognomonic feature, it is hard to diagnose preoperatively. Lumpectomy is advisable to remove the mass because the risk of damaging facial nerve in young patients and recurrence is rare. A definitive diagnosis is achieved after the histopathological study. Teratoma should be kept in account while evaluating a case of a soft tissue mass of parotid gland as a differential diagnosis.

Objective:To investigate the effect of combined medical and nursing visits on improving the compliance of functional exercise after arthroplasty.Methods:40 cases of joint replacement in January-December 2016 were treated as control group and 40 cases of joint replacement in January-December 2017 as experimental group. In the control group, separate ward-round mode was adopted, and in the experimental group, combined ward-roundmode was adopted. The compliance and patient sasfstction of 2 groups of functional exercise were compared. Results: The compliance of the two groups was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the satisfaction of the patients was significantly higher than that of the control group. The difference was statistically significant (P <0.05)Conclusion: It is worth popularizing in clinical practice that the joint replacement patients can improve the compliance of the patient's functional exercise and improve the patient's satisfaction.

Objective: In the field of Web search and general field, a large number of large-scale knowledge map libraries have been formed, but theconstruction of knowledge maps in the fields of medicine and traditional Chinese medicine is still in its infancy, although there are large-scalemedical ontology libraries. However, there are still few studies on the construction of specialized medicine, especially the TCM knowledgemap library, which greatly hinders the information application and sharing of TCM concept knowledge. Methods: For the map construction of the main conceptual entities such as symptoms, syndromes, diseases and traditional Chinese medicinein the field of traditional Chinese medicine, the corresponding schema pattern (Schema) was designed to determine the basic categories, category attributes and semantic relations of the map. The Protege Ontology Editor adds constraints to the entities in the TCM knowledgemap and their relationships, and uses Protege to graphically display some of the knowledge in the knowledge map. Finally, based on theformed knowledge map, the open-source toolkit Jena and the inference rules based on the logic of TCM diagnosis and treatment are used tocarry out the model analysis and application of knowledge reasoning based on knowledge map. Conclusion: Knowledge graph is carried out in the era of big data. The important data resources of knowledge management and applicationhave become the key technical basis for search engine semantic retrieval and knowledge-based reasoning and decision-making in variousfields. By integrating various data sources, this paper studies the construction of TCM health knowledge maps with symptoms, syndromes, diseases and medicines as the main entities. The analysis results show that it has certain feasibility and application value.
