Oxidative stress results from an imbalance of free radicals and antioxidants in the body. Antioxidants are needed to prevent oxidative stress. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables, which are high in antioxidants, should help avoid oxidative stress. One source of antioxidants is apples (Malus domestica) from the Rosaceae family because they have some bioactive compounds such as catechin, chlorogenic acid, quercetin, and phloridzin. Recently, many studies have used nanotechnology to formulate plant extracts. Due to their size and distinctive physicochemical properties, nanoparticles in plant extracts have various benefits. Analyzing apple extract nanoparticles’ antioxidant capacity was the goal of this work. The synthesized nanoparticles of apples were made by using chitosan, glacial acetic acid, propylene glycol, ethanol, DMSO, and Na-TPP. A dynamic light scattering particle size analyser was used to measure the zeta potential and particle size. Antioxidant activity was measured by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging, Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) scavenging activities, and Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) assay using colorimetric methods. At a concentration of 100 g/ml, the most DPPH was scavenged (80.35%). Apple extract nanoparticles have strong DPPH scavenging activity with IC50 = 12.16 ± 2.98 µg/ml and H2O2 scavenging activity with IC50 = 81.96 ± 7.23 µg/ml. The highest H2O2 scavenging activity was at 200 µg/ml concentration (84.47%) and the highest FRAP activity was at a concentration of 50 µg/ml (444.29%). The concentration is directly proportional to the antioxidant activity of apple extract nanoparticles. Based on this study, apple extract nanoparticle has strong antioxidant activity.

A Critical Review on the Role of Camel Milk in Multiple Health Outcomes 骆驼奶在多种健康结果中的作用综述

Camel milk has been demonstrated to be effective in treating a broad range of illnesses. Camel’s milk is regarded to have therapeutic properties because of its unique composition. Some people consider camel milk to be a precious commodity. White camel milk is made by combining fat and water. Several clinical studies have shown that camel’s milk is effective in treating a broad variety of diseases, including chronic ones. Most of the medicinal advantages of camel milk are included in this study. Camel Milk ingredients and qualities are similar to those found in mother’s milk, making it superior than cow’s milk. Insulin-like and protective proteins are found in abundance, along with lactose, which is the primary carbohydrate. It has anti-tumor qualities, and the robust immune system components assist combat disorders, including diabetes, autism, and diarrhea. It has been used by Nomads and Bedouins (Arabian tribals) for millennia because of these properties. The main objective of this review article is to demonstrate its various pharmacological roles. Camel’s milk is regarded as a vast medicinal property, as it contains a unique composition of bioactive moieties like lactose, proteins (Lactoferrin, Lactoperoxidase, Insulin, Casein), vitamins (A, B1, B2, C, D, E), minerals (Calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc and copper) carbohydrates etc. Most of the medicinal advantages of camel milk are covered in this paper, like its role in the management of autism, Crohn’s disease, allergic conditions, Hepatitis B and C, as antiviral and antibacterial agent. Hence, this study was planned to collect the updated latest information regarding use of camel’s milk, which will be very beneficial in the field of medicines and managing various ailments for the benefit of mankind.

Thymol as a Potent Anti-Schizophrenic Agent in Swiss Albino Mice 百里香酚对瑞士白化小鼠抗精神分裂症的有效作用

In ancient medical systems, the plant Thymus vulgaris L. was used widely for various medicinal purposes. The leaf portion of Thymus vulgaris L. along with its isolated active phytoconstituent thymol was studied in the management of anti-schizophrenic activity in Swiss albino mice. The present work deals with the in vivo antischizophrenic activity study of thymol by inhibition of apomorphine climbing mice and methamphetamine-induced stereotypical behaviour in mice models. Thymol was isolated from Thymus vulgaris L leaves and confirmed by TLC and FTIR spectroscopy. Experimental works included Actophotometer, mice treated with Thymus vulgaris leaves extract TVLE (50mg/kg and 100mg/kg) and its bioactive moiety thymol (5mg/kg) along with aripiprazole (1mg/kg). Investigations of the anti-schizophrenic activity of TVLE (50mg/kg and 100mg/kg) and thymol (5mg/kg) showed a significant (**p<0.01) results in both models of methamphetamine-induced stereotypy and apomorphine climbing time in experimental mice. Based on the experimental findings TVLE and thymol were shown to be very much effective as anti-schizophrenic activity. The results explained the role of thymol acting like a dopaminergic blocker or by causing a decrease in the brain’s dopamine supply to improve the schizophrenic-like behaviour in Swiss albino mice.

Effects of Various Herbal leaves Extract and Their Phytoconstituents in the Cure of Diabetic Nephropathy by ‘Streptozotocin-induced in Rats’ Model - A Review 不同草药叶提取物及其植物成分对链脲佐菌素诱导大鼠糖尿病肾病的治疗作用综述

The purpose of this study was to collect data for future clinical investigations and research on the safe and efficient use of various herbal medicines to treat hyperglycemia. One of the primary contributing reasons to the onset and progression of diabetic nephropathy is hyperglycemia, and many modern treatments are made from plants since they frequently have fewer side effects than the conventional medications that are now available. The medicinal plants include Sesbania sesban, Elaeis guineensis, Tecoma stans, Aloe barbadensis miller, Zingiber officinale Roscoe, Olea europaea, Anogeissus acuminata, Juglans regia L., Fragaria ananassa, Ginkgo biloba, Laurus nobilis L., Dryopteris dilatata, Moringa oleifera, Punica granatum L., Lycium chinense, Rumex nervous alkaloids and flavonoids are the primary phytoconstituents that aid in the therapy or cure of diabetic nephropathy. The therapeutic effects of medicinal plant leaf extract may be due to the wide range of bioactive compounds present, including various phytoconstituents such as alkaloids and flavonoids, glycosides, steroids, terpenoids, and phenolics. Alkaloids and flavonoids are the primary phytoconstituents that aid in the therapy or cure of diabetic nephropathy.

An Ayurvedic Intervention for Subconjunctival Hemorrhage (SCH) Resulting in Early Alleviation of Disease — A Case Report 阿育吠陀治疗结膜下出血(SCH)导致疾病早期缓解- 1例报告

Introduction: Subconjunctival Hemorrhage (SCH) is a common condition of the eye that has distinct characteristic features, such as the acute appearance of a sharply circumscribed redness of bleeding underneath the conjunctiva in the absence of discharge, and inflammation in the affected areas, which is painless. We are now disclosing a case of subconjunctival bleeding caused by local minor trauma and eye rubbing. This case was unique as the healing time, which was usually 1 to 2 weeks, was reduced to 5 days after the intervention of ayurvedic formulations. Case Presentation: A 60-year-old man who had redness in his left eye for one day came to the OPD setting. Redness and inflammation were present, as shown by direct clinical questioning. Later, a clinical examination confirmed both symptoms. A subconjunctival hemorrhage was confirmed by the way the eye appeared. Conclusion: Subconjunctival hemorrhage may exhibit signs of other conditions that pose a risk to the eyes. To make a distinction between those causes and localized subconjunctival hemorrhage, a clinical assessment was necessary.

We are now disclosing a case of subconjunctival bleeding caused by local minor trauma and eye rubbing. This case was unique as the healing time, which was usually 1 to 2 weeks, was reduced to 5 days after the intervention of ayurvedic formulations. Case Presentation: A 60-year-old man who had redness in his left eye for one day came to the OPD setting. Redness and inflammation were present, as shown by direct clinical questioning. Later, a clinical examination confirmed both symptoms. A subconjunctival hemorrhage was confirmed by the way the eye appeared. Conclusion: Subconjunctival hemorrhage may exhibit signs of other conditions that pose a risk to the eyes. Hepatoprotective Efficacy of Phytochemically Screened <i>Nyctanthes arbor-tristis</i> 植物化学筛选&lt;i&gt;紫荆&lt;/i&gt;

The Oleaceae plant Nyctanthes arbor-tristis Linnaeus is used in Ayurveda medicine as a laxative, diuretic, and for the treatment of a variety of painful conditions including sciatica, arthritis, and fever. This study aimed to determine whether or not extracts of Nyctanthes arbor-tristis leaves, either in alcohol or water, might prevent liver damage caused by carbon tetrachloride in rats. Administration of alcoholic and aqueous extracts of the leaves of Nyctanthes arbor-tristis protects the liver against the toxicity of carbon tetrachloride by lowering the high levels of serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase, serum glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase, and serum bilirubin (total and direct). Both the alcoholic and aqueous extracts demonstrated hepatoprotective efficacy at a dosage of 500 mg/kg body weight by significantly reducing the high levels of biochemical markers. Liver histopathology studies corroborated the extracts’ potential to restore damaged hepatocytes.

Effect of <i>Trivrit Virechana, Yashtyadi Pratisarana</i> and <i>Panchaksheeri Vriksha Kashaya Gandoosha</i> in Periodontitis — A Case Series Trivrit Virechana的影响&lt;i&gt;和Panchaksheeri Vriksha Kashaya Gandoosha&lt;/i&gt;在牙周炎病例系列

Periodontitis is a localized inflammation of the teeth most commonly caused by a bacterial infection in the periodontal cavity. The disease is common in adults over the age of 30. The bacteria involved in periodontal disease are mainly Gram-negative anaerobes. According to Ayurveda, the specific symptoms of upakusha have similarities with periodontitis. The objective of this study was to evaluate the combined effect of virechana, pratisarana and gandusha in improving symptoms, gingival bleeding index, plaque index, and restoring normal salivary microbial profiles in patients with periodontitis. A group of 30 patients who met the inclusion criteria were recruited for the study. Each case was observed for prevalence by age, pain, gingival bleeding, halitosis, plaque index, gingival bleeding index. In the results, it was found that Trivrit virechana, Yashtyadi choorna prathisarana and Panchaksheerivriksha kashya gandusha showed significant reduction in pain, bleeding gums, halitosis, plaque index, bleeding gums and normalization of saliva pH and recovered the bacterial profile in saliva with an improvement of 100%, 100%, 98%, 100% and 100% respectively and was statistically significant with p<0.0001. So, Trivrit virechana purifies the koshta in turn keeps the oral cavity healthy and strengthen the periodontium. Yashtyadi choorna havs anti-inflammatory, antibacterial property inhibits the growth of periodontopathogen and Panchaksheerivriksha kashaya helps to normalize the pH of saliva and reduce the microbial load. Hence, Ayurveda management can be considered as a better alternative in the management of periodontitis.

A Review on Probiotic and Microbiota Modulation: A Promising Nutraceutical in the Management of Neurodegenerative and Psychiatric Conditions 益生菌和微生物群调节:一种治疗神经退行性疾病和精神疾病的有前途的营养品

Microbes as probiotics were found to provide the host with health benefits when given in proper doses. Researches are going on to analyze the positive relation of probiotics on digestive health including the changes in the microbial populations in the gut. The immune, nervous, and endocrine system are some of the locations outside of the gut that is affected by probiotics. The study focussed on the potential impact of the “microbiota-gut-brain axis” on CNS-related functions. The role of probiotics is highlighted in our study for the control of a number of CNS illnesses, including Alzheimer’s disease, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc. This review also provides an overview of some clinically proven commercial probiotics and clinical studies reporting the impact of probiotics augmentation in cognition and symptoms in individuals with severe neurological and psychiatric illnesses.

Development and Greenness Assessment of Analytical Quality by Design Optimised Eco-friendly UV Spectrophotometric Methods for Analysis of Two Natural Antioxidants in Pure and Formulation 设计优化紫外分光光度法分析两种天然抗氧化剂纯品和制剂的分析质量及绿色评价

Utilizing analytical quality by design and green analytical chemistry principles, the present work introduces simple, robust, and environmentally benign UV methods. Two separate spectrophotometric methods were developed for the estimation of Silybin and Curcumin, where solvent, scan speed, and sampling interval are the estimated critical parameters. The detection was carried out at absorption maxima of 288nm for Silybin and 419nm for Curcumin with ethanol. To determine the critical method variables, a risk assessment was carried out using an Ishikawa diagram. Developed spectrophotometric methods were validated according to the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Registration of Pharmaceuticals for Human Use Q2 (R1) guidelines. The proposed methods showed good predictability and robustness. The new methodologies were found to be green according to the analytical greenness metric approach and software, the green analytical procedure index, and analytical eco-scale tools in comparison to the existing methods.

A Systematic Review on the Pharmacological Prospectives of <i>Vitex negundo</i> in <i>Ayurveda</i> Drug Research 黄荆&lt;/i&gt;药理研究前景综述在& lt; i&gt; Ayurveda&lt / i&gt;药物研究

In Ayurveda, there are many formulations containing Vitex negundo which is indicated in specific pathogenic and non-pathogenic condition. Hence this review attempted to explore the data of research at a glimpse. Peer reviewed and published data from PubMed had been selected for the same. The PubMed database (2009 to 2019) were searched using the keyword ‘Vitex negundo’, ‘Ayurveda’ with Boolean operator ‘AND’. A total of 45 free full text articles were retrieved from 57 articles with specific inclusion criteria. All the 45 studies were categorized into in silico studies, analytical studies, in vitro studies, in vivo studies and clinical studies. Then the data such as the type and design of research, the techniques used, and sample size were categorized into tables and the results were attained through thorough reading and analysis. A descriptive method is adopted for the review and quality aspects of the data were not taken into consideration. Compounds namely, acerosin and thymol were studied in in silico as an inhibitor for mTOR and on skin diseases respectively. Analytical studies explored the presence of compounds such as estriol, angnuside, phydroxybenzoicacid etc. Pharmacological activities such as anti-bacterial, anti-cancerous, anti-tubercular were studied in vitro and in vivo. A clinical study on Nirgundi khanavati in gridrasi (sciatica) is found to be effective in reducing the pain threshold. The phytochemical research of the drug were also proven against carcinoma. There is a high scope for research for more clinical studies and standardization with advanced analytical procedures and marker compounds.
