The paper presents a model of the emission load in the vicinity of a monitored road in relation to the real traffic input data. It describes a simple method of the emission load estimating. In Addition to the modeling method itself, the paper describes particular methodologies of the real data conversion and processing. Discussed are traffic intensities of the heavy trucks over 12 tons of weight. The model uses as its input real traffic data files from intelligent traffic systems (ITS) localized by the monitored roads. More specifically, data from selected highway toll gates were used in this work. At the end, particular and final, results are presented in graphs as examples.

In control systems, the model dynamics of linear systems is the principal and most important phase of a project, but when working with dynamic of non-linear systems obtain the model becomes a very complex task can be used techniques of system identification. This article show the use of one technique for identification and modeling of dynamic linear systems and nonlinear systems using dynamics neural networks type multilayer perceptron, obtaining approximate results in the identification of non-linear system.

The basic Learning Modalities and the most effective teaching approaches are discussed in this report. The application of the semantic web and the ontologies in structuring and searching data in the e-learning process is analyzed. A model of a web-based system for structuring multimedia scenarios according to the different students' learning modalities is suggested.

Diesel engine vehicle has made great air pollution to atmosphere. Post processor is applied to reduce particulate matters (PM) and Nitrogen Oxide compound (NOx) in the air. However, the post processors should require an appropriate monitor to track their performance in real time for an overall effect evaluation. This paper presents a monitor system using microprocessor design for data acquisition and real time reporting on Internet via wireless communication. The proposed monitor system includes the on-board unit hardware for post processor data acquisition, control station at garage, and surveillance center at Environment Protection Administration (EPA). Verification using trash vehicles and city buses in Kaohsiung City is demonstrated. Significant pollution reduction is observed from a long term operational statistics data.

In this paper, the possibility for describing (measuring) the organization of transport systems is presented. This evaluation of organization is motivated by the need to describe the behaviour of traffic systems in general but with respect to particular elements. As the basis for the proposed method the position and speed of each particle is used. The method recognizes two main components of the organization description -- global and local one.

We propose a system for organizing the creation and the interaction in multimedia environments that permit the collaboration among artists and audience. This system approaches security issues in multimedia content performing authorization and watermarking mechanisms. Authorization mechanism controls artist and audience operations in multimedia files based on a set of actions imposed on real-life scenarios. Digital watermarking mechanism handles copyright-protection and authentication issues that appear in multimedia systems applying a semantically secure watermark. The main contribution of such a watermark relies on the fact that it gives to the users the enhanced capability their ownership of the multimedia file not to be accomplished simply by detecting the bit pattern that comprises the watermark itself, but by showing that the legal owner knows a hard to compute property of the watermark. The strength of our system considers multimedia content not as an atomic digital entity, but as a part of a project with a specific workflow that applies watermarking techniques in all its parts.

This paper studies the possibility of classifying coffee beans by using their features of color, shape and size. The process of acquiring the images were done in controlled lighting conditions. Based on segmented images, color, shape and size provide information about the physical alteration in green coffee beans, during the growing and drying process that affect the flavor and taste of the drink by Developing a computer program to sort coffee beans by types In the case of color images are analyzed in RGB space, which were preprocessor in order to reduce noise and separate from the background and enhance its features. The location was used for an algorithm for identifying and setting contours ellipse, an algorithm Mahalanobis distance classifier, an algorithm called Flood of growth, for the segmentation of those defective grains. The emergence of methods that take advantage of technological advances is an option whose benefits encourage the study of new possibilities. The classification of coffee beans throughout the analysis of images is a very promising because it is a minimally invasive method and the exposure of the grains are not visible to look deteriorates significantly. Many farmers sort their coffee beans by hand but only a few thousand dollars invested in a automatic sorting optical machine such us Sortex or Xeltron. In this paper we develop algorithms based on image processing techniques for the classification of defective beans

Today, the restricted data type domains of the relational model affect Information Systems design. We claim another approach where the Information System designers would be able to portray directly the real world in a database model that provides more powerful and composite data types, as those of the real world. However, more powerful databases models need the introduction of data query and manipulation languages that reflect the features of the new composite data types. We introduce such a language and also reveal a direct consequence, which is the introduction of higher database design levels.

In this work we demonstrate a particular use of ontologies based on the European specifications DATEXII. These specifications are designed and developed as a traffic and travel data exchange mechanism by a European task force to set up and standardise the interface between traffic control and information centres. It is the reference for applications that are developed and implemented in Europe. This language describes concepts and structures of data related to traffic, but the description is just syntactic, not semantic. Therefore the objective to be reached in this part of the research has been to develop a semantic description in order to carry out some applications like syndication and a Maps representation of DatexII data.
