Cervical cancer is the first health problems for women in Indonesia with the highest risk of death. Delay diagnosis in late-stage cancer, vulnerable state, social status, low financial status, limited resource and facilities, type of histopathology and level of education determine patients’ prognosis. Fluor Albus is not a type of disease. It is a symptom of disease in female reproductive organs which can cause cervical cancer if it is not treated. Predisposition factors of Fluor Albus are including age, marital status, parity of menstrual cycle, contraception method, history of reproductive disorder, education, and job status. This community service aims to detect characteristic of fluor albus and to treat those identified with fluor albus atearly stage. The predisposition characteristics of fluor albus were collected from anamnesis while the Fluor Albus characteristic data were collected through direct observation of portio state of the uterian cervix. The activity was conducted from July to August 2017 in 3 different areas in Medan, North Sumatra with a total of 40 samples of women in their fertile age. Based on the analysis, 15 respondents (37.5%) found to suffer from Fluor Albus. Every woman is expected to be able to have early detection of Fluor Albus or symptoms of inflammatory infection of reproductive organs in order to prevent complication caused by Fluor Albus by paying more attention to personal hygiene, early screening by Pap Smear, IVA, and IHC (Immunohistochemistry).

Percut Sei Tuan Sub-district is an agricultural production center in Deli Serdang Regency. The area of irrigated paddy field in Percut Sei Tuan Sub-district comprises of 3,610 ha and 1,616 ha of non-irrigated paddy field. The farmer association groups (tani mitra) consisting of Farmer Group "Pasar II" and Farmer Group "Mulia" are located in Tanjung Selamat Village. Much land in Tanjung Selamat Village has been converted into an industrial area; previously the paddy field area reached 600 hectares, but only 200 hectares remains now. The Farmer Groups "Pasar II" and "Mulia" consist of 30 and 76 farmers with paddy rice field area of 25 ha and 23 ha respectively, and rice productivity amounts to 6.2 tons/ha and 7 tons/ha. The problems of the farmers were the high land use conversion resulting in reduced harvested area and only a few farmers change the local location-specific organic materials into organic fertilizers independently. The purposes of this community service activity were to increase the farmers' income through the implementation of salibu technology whereby farmers can harvest 2-3 times in one planting and to increase the farmers’ understanding and knowledge about the manufacturing process of organic fertilizer and pesticide. The solutions offered were including counseling, a training and plot demonstration on salibu technology, and the production of bokashi straw. The outcome of this IbM has resulted in several things: bokashi of compressed hay with Local Microorganism from cattle intestine and Trichoderma, organic pesticide products based on Corynebacterium and Trichoderma, and farming analysis with salibu technology.

This community service activity was intended to assist entrepreneurs engaged in the production of alen-alen, a product made from cassava. There are some problems encountered in the production process, such as washing raw materials manually, work safety during the production practice, products that are not in accordance with standard hygiene and sanitation and packaging process that has not been designed properly. The entrepreneurs want to increase production but the equipment and processing machinery are very limited. To overcome this problem, several methods can be performed by the academics, such as facilitating them with appropriate tools that meet the needs in the field. A cassava washer unit and specific boiler tools to avoid hot steam when taking the material were offered. In addition, entrepreneurs were trained in hygiene and sanitation in alen-alen making, educated for packaging technology quality, raw material selection and the use of food coloring, formulating variations for alen-alen manufacture, as well as financial bookkeeping training. The implementation of these activities is expected to generate shorter production process time leading to further increase in the production, income and welfare of the entrepreneurs.
