The community service activity was carried out based on the results of a needs survey for community service implementation, which has been distributed to active students from various academic and vocational programs of Chemistry Education program in South Kalimantan. The need analysis survey results showed that students are already aware of the independent curriculum, but many of them are still unaware of the independent entrepreneurship program. In addition, students also hope for entrepreneurship training, such as keychain making training. The method used in the community service is the introduction to resin materials and training in making resin keychains. The training activities were conducted in the integrated laboratory of Universitas Islam Negeri Antasari with a total of 60 participants. The results obtained from this community service are that students acquire new skills in making resin keychains, which can be used as products for entrepreneurship. The pretest showed that initially the participants' insight did not know and recognize resin and catalyst materials, and the result of the posttest showed that the participants were able to be creative by using dried flowers, leaves, and grass typical of the surrounding area to produce beautiful resin key chains.

Currently, the level of knowledge among cattle farmers in raising cattle is still low, as evidenced by the conventional nature of the farming system, resulting in low productivity. The optimal utilization of appropriate technology to improve the productivity of cattle has not been achieved. The community service activities conducted involve technology transfer to enhance innovation and creativity among farmers through the application of herbal medicine and probiotics in the provided feed. The technology is implemented using the "Learning By Doing" method to ensure that innovation can be directly conveyed and easily understood by the farmers. The application of herbal medicine and probiotics in cattle feed is carried out directly for approximately 1.5 months, with cattle being weighed every 15 days. The results of this activity indicate that the implementation of appropriate technology through the use of herbal medicine and probiotics in cattle feed among a group of cattle farmers in DLT-UNJA, Pudak Village, Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi Regency, has increased the productivity of Bali cattle with a body weight gain of 0.59 kg/head/day.

Anemia poses a significant risk for women of reproductive age and pregnant women, impacting both their health and the quality of future generations. This condition can adversely affect the growth and development of the fetus, leading to potential complications during pregnancy and childbirth. In severe cases, it may even result in maternal and newborn mortality. The purpose of this community service activity was to enhance the knowledge of women of reproductive age and pregnant women through nutritional counseling and demonstrations on making "sukahitu" cookies, which serve as an alternative for increasing blood hemoglobin levels. “Sukahitu” cookies, made from katuk (Sauropus androgynus) leaf flour and mung bean flour, were provided daily for 30 days to 35 women of reproductive age and pregnant women in Belawan II Village, Medan Belawan District. Knowledge regarding intake, anemia, and hemoglobin was measured before (pretest) and after the intervention (posttest). The results of the activity indicate that the average pretest score is 77.1%, and the posttest score is 91.4%. There is an average increase of 14.28% in knowledge about anemia. It is recommended to regularly conduct nutrition and anemia counseling for women of reproductive age and pregnant women, along with providing hemoglobin-rich foods like “sukahitu” cookies to effectively prevent anemia.

The increase in agricultural yields of food crops and horticulture in Langsat Permai Village, Bungaraya District was initiated by the construction of canal blocking in the activities of the Partner Village Service Program by DIKTI in the 2017-2019 implementation year which will continue until 2023. However, the harvest index (HI) of rice has not reached 300 due to the transplanting system, so that it takes quite a long time from the transplanting period to finally harvesting and replanting. Therefore, the rice cultivation system with the direct seed planting system can be a solution that can help farmers increase the harvest index (HI) and rice crop production. The activity partners who were the targets of the activity were farmers and members of the Langsat Permai Village youth group. Assistance is carried out by providing knowledge about rice cultivation using the direct seed planting system starting from the understanding of the direct seed planting system, its tool, the advantages and disadvantages of rice cultivation using the direct seed planting system, as well as the stages of the direct seed planting system cultivation from land preparation, seed preparation, planting to fertilization. Based on the results of the mentoring carried out, the knowledge of farmers and youth groups in Langsat Permai Village about rice cultivation using the direct seed planting system has increased compared to before the mentoring activities were carried out.

Sustainable development in animal husbandry through feed processing technology using modern machines is needed to increase the productivity of goats in Dolok Ilir I, Dolok Batu Nanggar District, Simalungun Regency. The problems faced by the service partners include maintenance management and preparation of animal feed that could be more optimal, thus reducing the productivity of goats. In addition, technology in the form of automatic equipment or machines and housing management for incentive management is also needed. Some solutions to problems are the Assisted Village Service Team conducting activities in the form of 1) Training on feed preparation and making herbal nutritional supplements for goats, 2) Provision of goat feed production machines and training in the use of chopper machines, 3) Construction of goat cages for intensive management. The service method applied is using media in the form of banners and training practices. Training practices are carried out by providing material and demonstrations on preparing feed, making herbal nutritional supplements, and operating a grass chopper machine. The results of the activities that have been carried out show an increase in farmers' knowledge and skills related to making feed preparation, making herbal nutritional supplements and operating chopper machines with an achievement rate of 95%. Science and technology in community service activities have been applied by farmers so that they can increase the sustainable development of animal husbandry in the Fostered Village. Some solutions to problems are the Assisted Village Service Team conducting activities in the form of 1) Training on feed preparation and making herbal nutritional supplements for goats, 2) Provision of goat feed production machines and training in the use of chopper machines, 3) Construction of goat cages for intensive management. The service method applied is using media in the form of banners and training practices. Training practices are carried out by providing material and demonstrations on preparing feed, making herbal nutritional supplements, and operating a grass chopper machine. The results of the activities that have been carried out show an increase in farmers' knowledge and skills related to making feed preparation, making herbal nutritional supplements and operating chopper machines with an achievement rate of 95%. Science and technology in community service activities have been applied by farmers so that they can increase the sustainable development of animal husbandry in the Fostered Village. The participation of village officials also supports the progress of livestock development in the Assisted Village of Dolok Ilir, Simalungun Regency.","PeriodicalId":17104,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Saintech Transfer","volume":"23 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139597546","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
