The spread of the corona virus in various parts of the world has led to policy changes in various sectors of life, including the education sector. In order to inhibit the spread of the corona virus and in an effort to break the chain of spread of viruses that have not yet found a vaccine, governments in various countries affected by the covid-19 virus have made policies to carry out online learning. Likewise in Indonesia, the Indonesian government has officially enforced rules for implementing online learning since March 16, 2020. In practice, however, there are various drawbacks perceived by teachers and students in addition to online learning opportunities. Therefore, this study has aimed to determine the opportunities and drawbacks perceived by teachers and students in the implementation of online learning in East Baturaja district during the covid-19 pandemic. The research was conducted in SMPN 32 OKU, East Baturaja district, OKU Regency. The participants were 7th grade students and English teachers who were selected by purposive sampling method. Interviews according to health protocols with 4 questions and observations were made in data collection. The result show that teachers and students perceived that online learning offered flexibility, offered latest news, offered rich and unrestricted tools, facilitated reading, and helped to become more active for less active students, and was fast and easier. However, considering the advantages for learners as online learning is integrated into teaching and learning, there are certain drawbacks that demand immediate attention.

This thesis is concerned with the inquiry on the correlations among self-confidence, learning motivation, and speaking ability of the eleventh grade students of State Vocational High School 1 of Talang Ubi PALI. The problem of this study is to investigate the correlations among self-confidence, learning motivation, and speaking ability. The total number of the population was 226 students. The sample for this study was 34 students taken through purposive sampling technique. Data were collected by adopting questionnaire for self-confidence and learning motivation, and a test for speaking ability. Data were analyzed by using r-Product Moment and Multiple Regression. The data analysis shows that r_yx1x2 = 0.516 with r^2= 0,267 and p-value is 0.008. This value is lower than 0.05. This is significant. So, Ha was accepted while Ho was rejected. Conclusions suggest that there are significant correlations among self-confidence, learning motivation, and speaking ability of the eleventh grade students of State Vocational High School 1 of Talang Ubi PALI.

Improving the quality of education at SMPN 1 Betung is carried out through the implementation of an internal quality assurance system. The research objective was to describe the implementation of the internal quality assurance system at SMP Negeri 1 Model in Betung, Banyuasin Regency. The descriptive qualitative research method is the type of field study. The research subjects were the principal, deputy principal, administrative staff, operators, and teachers of SMPN 1 Betung. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are in the form of collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. Data validity checks include credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability tests. The results showed that the implementation of the internal quality assurance system of SMP Negeri 1 Model in Betung, Banyuasin Regency was carried out in accordance with the instructions for the SPMI Dikdasmen Kemendikbud developed by the government through the model school program and pengimbasan. The implementation stage, namely preparation consisting of training, preparation, and socialization. SPMI implementation includes mapping, fulfillment of plans, implementation, monev, and setting new standards, mentoring, monitoring, monitoring and evaluation.

The principal is a leader in educational institutions that regulates and manages educational activities in schools. Therefore, school principals play an important role in improving the quality of education, especially improving teacher performance to be more enthusiastic and professional in teaching and developing themselves who are in charge of delivering lessons to students. This study aims to identify the role of principal supervision as an effort to improve teacher professionalism in teaching at public high school (SMA Negeri) 10 OKU. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 10 OKU. The research was carried out for 3 (three) months, starting from September 2020 to November 2020. The research method used was a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques used include: (1) Interview or Interview; (2) Observation; (3) Documentation. Based on the research results, it was concluded that the principal had a role in the supervision carried out as an effort to improve teacher professionalism in teaching. It is known: (1) The role of principal supervision is evidenced by the teacher in planning lesson plans which are made reported and approved by the principal and according to the curriculum; (2) The role of principal supervision is proven by the teacher in carrying out the learning process in accordance with the learning device guidelines and using teaching aids; (3) The role of principal supervision is evidenced by the teacher evaluating the learning outcomes and reporting to the principal; (4) The role of principal supervision is evidenced by the teacher following up on the learning outcomes in accordance with the direction of the principal; (5) The role of principal supervision is evidenced by the teacher providing guidance to students.

Study aims to determine managerial influence of principals and work motivation toward teacher performance. Type of research was quantitative study using t-test and F-test. Sample was hundred of teachers. Data collection technique used questionnaire. Data analysis technique used SPSS program. Results of study (1) Principal managerial had significant influence toward teacher performance. This was evidenced by the t-count 13.998 and t-table 1.660; (2) Work motivation had significant influence toward teacher performance according to t-count 2.206 and t-table 1.660; (3) Principal managerial and work motivation had a significant influence toward teacher performance, based on the test results obtained F-count value 4.653 and F-table 3.09. This study aims to determine the effect of the leadership of the school principal and school committee on the performance of the teachers of the State Junior High Schools in Muaradua District, by using quantitative methods with this type of correlational research. The research population consisted of 107 teachers at the State Junior High School in Muaradua District. The research sample was 48 people. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique, namely sampling by determining certain criteria. Data were analyzed using correlation analysis techniques and multiple regression. The results showed that: (1) The leadership of the principal has a positive and significant effect on the performance of the teachers of the State Junior High Schools in Muaradua District; (2) The school committee has a positive and significant effect on the performance of the teachers of State Junior High Schools in Muaradua District; and (3) The leadership of the principal and the school committee jointly have a positive and significant effect on the performance of the teachers of the State Junior High Schools in Muaradua District.

This study aims to determine and describe the role of school principals in improving the quality of education in SD Negeri 4 Air Kumbang District. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection tools use documentation, interviews, observation and literature review. The data analysis technique uses descriptive qualitative analysis technique which consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion and ferification. The results of the study state that the role of the principal in an effort to improve the quality of education in SD Negeri 4 Air Kumbang District is carried out by establishing a program to improve the quality of learning by implementing a program to improve the quality of learning into the vision and mission of the school then the principal communicates the vision and mission of the school related to standards quality of learning; and improving the quality of education through interpersonal teacher competence by encouraging teachers to improve their competence and teaching ability. The principal should improve his competence so that the role can have a maximum impact in efforts to improve the quality of education.
