The purpose of this study was to describe the author's social context and socio-cultural elements in the novel About You by Tere Liye. This research was a qualitative research with sociology of literature approach. This research was to describe author's social context and socio-cultural elements in the novel About You by Tere Liye. The results of the discussion in this study were obtained story fact that related to their social values namely violence, starting a business, product marketing, malaria events (January 15 disasters), friendship, and betrayal. While the social values contained in the novel About You by Tere Liye included: patience, obedience, forgiveness, helping others, caring for others, working hard, loyalty, mutual trust between friends, help between friends, and honestly. The results of this study conclude: (1) author's social context of the novel About You by Tere Liye work consists of the theme and facts of theory, and (2) socio-cultural elements of the novel About You the moral values contained in Tere Liye's novel About You are: (a) human relationships with self that include fear, death, longing and revenge, (b) human relationships with humans.

This study aims to describe the pattern of guidance and supervision of the principal in improving the discipline and performance of teachers of SMP Negeri 24 Ogan Komering Ulu. This research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were the principal, teachers and students. The results of this study indicate that the discipline of teachers at SMP Negeri 24 Ogan Komering Ulu is in a good category, this can be seen from the majority of teachers obeying and carrying out what has become the prevailing rules and norms. Teacher performance is also in the good category as evidenced by the increasing quality of learning and the results of graduates from students who can enter public high schools, if their private schools get top ten report cards. The pattern of guidance and supervision of school principals in improving teacher discipline and performance at SMP Negeri 24 Ogan Komering Ulu is by coaching teacher performance, namely following seminars and training, supervision or supervision of performance in the form of class visits every week and once a month, disciplinary fostering of educational personnel by directly monitoring teacher attendance, providing motivation, and awarding teachers in the form of awards given at each annual event.

The main objective of this research is to define and explain, through the provision of facilities and extracurricular implementation, the enhancement of student learning achievement. The data collection tool is observation, questionnaires and documentation. Quantitative research is the type of research performed in this study. The sampling technique in this study was purposive random sampling, namely all 125 students of MTs N Sekecamtan Sekayu. The approach used is the methodology of descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression. Using SPSS version 23 for windows, the data was analyzed descriptively.From the results of the analysis test shows that; The simultaneous influence of the provision of infrastructure and implementation of extracurricular activities on improving learning achievement. There is a substantial rise in the provision of learning achievement facilities. The implementation of extracurricular activities on student achievement is dramatically growing.

This thesis is concerned with the inquiry on the correlations among learning strategy, learning motivation and the seventh grade students’ speaking ability of SMP Negeri 03 Muaradua OKUS. The problem of this study is to investigate the correlations among learning strategy, learning motivation and speaking ability. The total number of the population was 76 students. The sample for this study was 52 students taken through cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected by adopting questionnaire for learning strategy and learning motivation, and a test for speaking ability. Data were analyzed by using r-product moment and multiple regression. Findings show that there are significant correlations among learning strategy, learning motivation, and speaking ability. Conclusions suggest that learning strategy and learning motivation have significant correlations with speaking ability.

The data in this study were collected through distributing questionnaires to respondents. Them they were analyzed by using multiple regression analysis through t test, F test, and determination coefficient test. The population in this study were all teachers at Elementary Schools of Babat Supat District which consisted of 294 teachers. The sampling technique used in this study was probability sampling with a sample size of 75 people. The results of the study showed that: (1) principals’ managerial individually influences the quality of education at Elementary Schools of Babat Supat District; (2) participation of school committee individually influences the quality of education at Elementary Schools of Babat Supat District; (3) principals’ managerial and school committee participation simultaneously influence the quality of education at Elementary Schools of Babat Supat District.

This study aims to identify and describe strategies for improving the quality of learning in terms of teacher performance at the State Senior High School 3 of Sekayu, the obstacles faced and the results achieved. The research data collection techniques: 1) interview, 2) observation, 3) documentation. The research data analysis technique refers to qualitative research using 3 stages: 1) the processing data, 2) the reducing data, 3) the analyzing data. The results of this study: (1) the teachers creates innovative, effective, and fun learned by using infocus and utilizing hotspot facilities. In delivering learning materials, teachers use digital literacy as a supporting means to align the learning material delivered; (2) Constraints faced by potential, intelligence, and interest in accordance with the level of development and ability of students have not been achieved than expected, where the potential, intelligence and interest of students at the State Senior High School 3 of Sekayu are different; (3) The results achieved from strategies in improving the quality of learning in terms of teacher performance at the State Senior High School 3 of Sekayu, the fulfillment of the implementation of the delivered learning, where the learning process is innovative, active, and fun in accordance with the objectives of curriculum development in 2013 which is designed which is divided into 2 ( two), namely the implementation of learned which refers to the work program for a year (prota) and the implementation of learned which refers to the work program during the semester (prosem).

This is to determine the effect of work motivation and principal leadership together on the performance of teachers in SD Negeri Lengkiti District. In this study, quantitative research methods were used and the research design was in the form of an influence study, namely to determine the effect of the three variables, namely the independent or independent variable Teacher Motivation (X1), Principal Leadership (X2) and the dependent or dependent variable Teacher Performance (Y). Stylistic Analysis and Social Values in Andrea Hirata's novel Orang-Orang Asli (Review Through the Sociology of Literature Approach) is an analysis of the use of language and the relationship between literary works and society in the novel. This research is a descriptive qualitative study with the aim of describing the uniqueness and selection of vocabulary, particularly the use of diction (choice of words), figurative meaning (figurative meaning) and social values contained in the novel Orang-Orang Asli by Andrea Hirata. The data of this research are in the form of lingual units which contain unique vocabulary and morphosyntax as well as uniqueness of language style and social values. Data collection techniques using library techniques, observe and take notes. Data analysis techniques are flow analysis which consists of four activities that occur simultaneously, namely data collection and classification, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Furthermore, this study uses the theoretical triangulation method, meaning that the discussion of the problem is the discussion of the problem by using some data to obtain the same data. The results of this study indicate that the use of diction or choice of words in Andrea Hirata's novel Orang-Orang Asli is (1) denotation meaning, (2) connotation meaning, (3) synonymous words (4) antonyms (5) concrete words, (6) Abstract, (7) general words (8) special words (9) straightforward words, (10) narrowing and broadening of the meaning (11) active words and (12) amelioration and peryorasi words. Utilization of a figurative language style that is unique and creates aesthetic effects on readers, namely metaphor, simile, metonemia, synekdoke, allegory, climax and correction. The social values contained in the novel Orang-Orang Asli by Andrea Hirata are the social values of love which include love and affection, help to help, devotion, care. The value of responsibility includes empathy, discipline. Life harmony values include obligation, tolerance and cooperation. The analysis above shows that the writer is able to highlight the uniqueness of the selection and use of specific vocabulary and figurative language which is aesthetically pleasing and has social values. This uniqueness is motivated by social and educational factors of the author. This has resulted in a distinctive style that has become a special characteristic of Andrea Hirata in expressing his ideas through the novel Orang-Orang Asli.

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of student motivation on student achievement in Junior High School 40 OKU. This type of research is quantitative. The sample in this study was 96 students of Junior High School 40 OKU. Data were collected using a questionnaire, documentation, and observation. Data were analyzed using the SPSS program. The results of this study suggest that there is an effect of student motivation on student achievement. This paper is expected to be useful for school policymakers in increasing student motivation and student achievement.
