The paper examines the opportunities for developing the skills and competencies of engineering students to understand the fundamental concepts embedded in digital signal processing. The Matlab-Simulink development software environment was used for research and teaching of Discrete Linear Time-Invariant (LTI) Systems through Difference Equations (DE), for which purpose a general engineering algorithm and a simulation model have been created, implementing the recursive Discrete LTI systems. The results of the conducted analytical and simulation researches are presented.

The paper presents a study of the change in the parameters of textile electrodes depending on the service life and external, mechanical and chemical effects. The aim of the study is to prove their applicability as capacitive sensors for capturing biomedical signals, in terms of keeping their parameters within acceptable limits for repeated use and after long service life.

The paper presents a study of the possibility of adding copper nanowires to standard solder pastes in order to obtain diffuse soldering. An approach for pre-mixing the nanowires with flux and their subsequential addition to the solder paste was considered. A method for investigation of the stability of the copper nanowires in different fluxes was proposed. Results, related to the stability study were also presented.

In this paper, the calculation of the equivalent parameters of the inductor part system for a system of three series-connected inductors is made. The modeling of the electromagnetic and temperature field of the system from three consecutively connected inductors is made. The calculated parameters of the system inductor-detail modeling in Comsol Multiphysics are verified.

Impedance microbiology based on AD5940 single-chip convertor measurement by gold interdigital electrodes could be a valuable method for tracking and control the yogurt fermentation process with portable sensor device. The results obtained are with a good agreement with pH kinetics measurement, which is a typical method for yogurt fermentation detection in the food industry.

The goal of this paper is to implement the design of a previously proposed inverted-pair EMI detector using a Monte-Carlo based simulation framework. The inverted-pair EMI detector can detect electromagnetic disturbances in a wired communication channel and generate a warning to the processing unit. The warning generated by the detector helps the system to follow a precautionary procedure, e.g. a safe-state operation or a re-transmission of data. In order to verify the theoretical results, the performance of the EMI detector is evaluated in a reverberation environment using a dedicated simulation framework. The simulation framework uses an efficient reciprocity-based algorithm to calculate voltages and currents induced due to Electro-Magnetic (EM) waves. These induced voltages and currents add up with the transmitted signal on the data transmission lines, disturbing the actual data. The inverted-pair EMI detector aims to identify these disturbances in the reverberation room environment, thereby confirming previously theoretically analysed results.

Activity recognition is a key component of context-aware holographic communication to support optimal quality flow of data, but conventional approaches often lack in semantic information and context-awareness due to problems such as difficulty identifying the activity which the invidiual performs; overfitting when building activity models; collection of a large amount of labeled data from each end user. This paper presents a fully developed multi-view RGB-D system based on user-specific metrics - facial features coupled with a body skeleton. The system employs a skeleton-based approach. We test the performance of the proposed architecture in a controlled environment.

The present study aims at describing a system for remote access to computer aided lab used for static parameters examination of DAC /digital-to-analogue converter/. A main task in the realization of remote access lab classes is the development of software and hardware in order to operate with the experimental equipment. The software for remote lab access has been written in java, java script and html. The DAC used for the laboratory model is MCP4527 it is controlled by microcontroller Atmega 328 in a development board Arduino Nano. The interface of the user software for laboratory model management is is developed on Python 3.7. A digital voltmeter FLUKE 189 II is used to measure the DAC output analogue voltage. It operates with another user software specially adapted for the lab classes, this software was also developed with Python 3.7.

The paper considers the application of a probability analysis so as to define the maintenance time and the operation of electronic converters. Models with probability states that are typical for this type of devices are presented. Those states could be summarized as: operability, repair, preventive maintenance, protection, redundancy and failure. The proposed models reflect the probability that a specific electronic device is in one of the above states at a specific moment of time. Maintenance time is determined on the basis of those probabilities and the methodology for defining maintenance time and interval reliability by the end of the period.
