This article presents the results of an experimental study assessing student’s life quality and living standard, as well as the results of measurable physiological indicators that reflect the status of their cardiovascular and respiratory systems. The analysis of these results was carried out with the help of the “Quality of Life Questionnaire (WHOQOL-100)”. The study found that taking into account the assessment of the life quality and living standard as an integral indicator, which includes a significant number of components (health, social relationships, spirituality, religion, personal beliefs, etc.), reflects the stress level of regulatory systems and can be meaningful criterion of students’ successful adaptation to the conditions of educational and professional activities. Key words—living standard (standard of living), life quality (quality of life), domains of human life, adaptation, functional status.

The article considers the fact that pedagogical profession has recently become increasingly stressful, and teachers are increasingly getting under negative stressful conditions, which can result in professional burnout and other professional destructions. Those professional destructions can lead to negative influence on students and development of addictive behavior. In this regard, the preparation of students of pedagogical universities for the prevention of chemical and non-chemical dependencies in the child and youth environment, in which future teachers develop effective coping strategies and improve personal resources of coping behavior in order to interact with children and adolescents and increase the effectiveness of pedagogical prevention of addictive behavior. The high level of development of adaptive patterns of coping behavior of future teachers contributes to effective overcoming of distress in professional activities, to increasing the level of adaptive strategies among children and adolescents, and also to reducing the risk factors of addictive behavior. Stress factors are increasing in the modern world and the scientific community has to search for resources to ensure the effective functioning of the individual in all conditions. Numerous studies have shown that turning a traumatic situation into something positive improves physical health and well-being of the individual. They provided the foundations for the emergence of concepts which address global orientations that contribute to finding meaning and evoke positive emotions in difficult situations. Hardiness is an example of such an intrapersonal resource to cope with stress. The aim of the study was to assess the impact of regional and generational factors on the level of personality hardiness. This is a crosssectional study comparing the level of hardiness in people grouped by the region of residence and identification with a certain generation. The type of generational identity was determined through the answers to the question "Which generation values are closer to you?". The level of hardiness was assessed using the Russian version of the Hardiness Survey adapted by D.A. Leontiev. Multivariate analysis of variance was used for mathematical data processing. The study involved 128 participants (64 inhabitants of the Northwestern Federal district of Russia; 64 inhabitants of the Ural Federal district of Russia), of whom 64 were males and 64 were females, aged between 17 and 72. According to the generational identity, the respondents were divided into 4 groups of 32 each: post-war generation, Soviet generation, transitional generation, post-Soviet generation. The study showed that the level of personality hardiness depends on the region of residence. The joint influence of the regional and generational factors on the level of hardiness is significant. At the same time, in the Northwest Russia, the relationship between the studied variables is nonlinear (the lowest level of hardiness is observed in people identifying themselves as the post-war and post-Soviet generations), and in the Ural region it is linear (people identifying themselves as the post-war and Soviet generations have a higher level of hardiness than people identifying themselves as the transitional and Soviet generations). The results of the study have expanded the understanding of differences between generations and inhabitants of different regions of Russia.

This paper analyses individual, psychological, personal characteristics, tolerance to stress, resilience and coping behavior of specialists working in extreme environments. To identify personal determinants of stresscoping behavior demonstrated by male employees of Emergencies Ministry of Russia we interviewed 84 employees of the Moscow Regional Firefighting Service using the Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (16PF) developed by R. Cattell and Hobfoll’s Strategic Approach to Coping Scale (SACS). The data were statistically processed by software program SPSS 16.0.2 and analyzed using Pearson’s correlation coefficient and regression analysis. Study of stress-coping behavior showed that the majority of research subjects used a “healthy” coping strategy manifesting itself in relatively active, assertive behavior, readiness for social contact, seeking of social support combined with low indicators of aggressive and asocial behavior. Regressive analysis of active coping strategy set the multiple correlation coefficient and identified the following reliable determinants of active stress-coping behavior: intellectual (B factor), emotional (C, H factors) and regulatory (G factor) attributes, whereas determinants of passive coping strategy were communicative (L factor) and emotional (O factor) personality traits. Regressive analysis suggests that the choice of coping behavior strategy is determined by personal characteristics. The research findings can be used while recruiting employees of The Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM of Russia) as well as taking preventive, remedial measures and providing psychological counselling to reinforce “healthy” coping strategies and if necessary to develop new behavioral patterns. Keywords— individual psychological characteristics, personal determinants, coping strategy, stress-coping behavior I. RATIONALE Recently numerous studies of Russian academics and practitioners (N.N. Simonova, Ya.A. Korneeva, N.Yu. Flotskaya, A.B. Bukhvostov, Ye.N. Ashanina, V.Yu. Rybnikov, A.A. Kuzmenko and others) have been dedicated to studying individual, psychological, personal characteristics, tolerance to stress, resilience and coping behaviour of specialists working in extreme environments. This is a topical issue for a number of reasons: firstly, hazardous occupations are gaining importance and becoming more dangerous; secondly, occupational hazards are defined by factors (physical and weather conditions, mechanical impact and chemical exposure, uncertainty, abruptness, tight deadlines and others) which can have a destructive effect on personality and mental state of these specialists [2]; thirdly, work in extreme environments is characterized by physical exertion, threat to life and health, continuous psychological stress, high responsibility while acting relatively independently; fourthly, coping behaviour in extreme conditions is one

The empirical material was compiled on the basis of the structural unit of Russian Railways. The respondents were employees of the railway – station operators. The professional activity of the station operator is connected with a high responsibility for the safety of train traffic, for the safety of people using railways and employees subordinate to the station operator. The features of the psychological representation of an emergency situation are studied. The article presents the results of the research of psychological space. The data indicate that there are significant differences in the representation of a contingency situation by railway employees who have different “experience” of interacting with it.

Relevance of research. The profession of the doctor belongs to one of the most difficult, psychoemotionally intense and responsible kind of activity. The quantity of occupation types which carry to activity in special and extreme conditions constantly extends. Extreme conditions of professional activity accompany such professions like the pediatrician, the surgeon, the stomatologist, the resuscitator, the emergency doctor, the obstetriciangynecologist and others. Extremeness of conditions and a professional stress is caused by high level of responsibility for other people's life, tension and large volume of work, complex relationship with patients and colleagues and a lot of factors of the industrial environment. The relevance of the studied problem is caused by need of maintaining physical and psychological health of medical workers in order to increase their adaptability and resistance to extreme factors in professional activity and in the conditions of daily tension. For health care quality improvement it's important not only to establish stress factors of doctor’s professional activity, but also to define conditions of rising his adaptability and resistance to stress. The aim of research is to study the dominating stress factors for employees of medical institutions and students of medical school, their adaptability and resistance to stress. Methods and techniques of the research There were used "Scale of an Organizational Stress (SOS)" of McLean, adapted by N.E. Vodopyanova; "Assessment of emotional and activity adaptability" (N.P. Fetiskin, V.V. Kozlov, G.M. Manuylov); the questionnaire "The description of professional activity" developed by E.A. Klimov (modified by us). The reliability of test results was confirmed by use of statistical methods: t-Spirmen's rank correlation and Styyudent's t-criterion. The hypothesis of existence of interrelation between adaptability and resistance to stress at doctors was verified in research. The following results were received. As stressful factors for doctors are named limited time for appointment the patient, the discrepancy between payment and labor costs, physical exercises, communication with emotionally unbalanced patients and their parents, night watches, high rate of work, high level of responsibility for life and health of other people, inability and impossibility to switch attention to other not working problem, difficulties after the end of the working day, great demands to professional characteristics placed by patients. The age and longevity or track record don’t correlate with the level of an organizational stress and level of adaptability. Specific stress factors can be at each age stage and level of professional growth, but on some doctors they can make stronger impact, on others this factors make weaker impact. The profile of the doctor and his official functionality in many ways determine the level of an organizational stress. The primary doctor, his deputy, managers of department (ped
