In this paper, the air-filled substrate integrated waveguide (AFSIW), offering a technological platform for the design of high performance millimeterwave self-packaged substrate integrated components and systems, is presented. AFSIW is based on low-cost printed circuit board (PCB). Several components, including antennas, filters and couplers, have been theoretically studied and experimentally demonstrated up to 60 GHz. This technology, surpassing its dielectric-filled SIW (DFSIW) counterpart, is expected by the authors to replace the rectangular waveguide technology for future low-cost extremely high data rate communication systems and highly sensitive sensors operating at millimeterwave and beyond.

In this paper, we present an analysis of the hybrid satellite-terrestrial free-space optical (FSO) cooperative system. The analysis is performed under consideration of the decode-and-forward (DF) relaying protocol, where the FSO channel is assumed for relay-destination link. The land mobile satellite (LMS) link is described by two-state Lutz's model. The Gamma-Gamma distribution is used to model the intensity fluctuations of the optical signal caused by atmospheric turbulence. The outage probability expression is derived. Numerical results are presented. The effect of LMS link conditions, such as time-share of shadowing, as well as FSO link conditions, on the outage probability performance is investigated.

Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) focuses on creating open virtualized environment in the Radio Access Network. MEC brings cloud capabilities close to the end users. The paper presents an approach to define a MEC Web Service for access to information about activity of a terminal or a group of terminals in a cell. The Web Service functionality is based on the function of the control protocol S1 Application Protocol between RAN and core network. Use cases illustrating the usage of terminal activity information are provided, and some implementation issues are discussed.

This paper presents optimized connection searching method based on region filling algorithms. The proposed method is optimized using the heuristic and is intended for maze-solving. In specific cases, the proposed algorithm performs better than variants which do not use heuristic and it depends on the maze structure and position of the starting and ending pixel.

This paper explains how C++ functions for controlling user data can be connected to Lua by using Lua C API. Solution presented in this paper can be used as a guideline for applications that have the need to prevent direct file manipulation, but instead to allow file access only in controlled environment. Implementation considers completely disabling I/O module in Lua and instead using set of custom functions for file access.

In this paper artificial neural networks are used for identification of nonlinear loads on the network, as one of the methods for non-intrusive load monitoring. Specific parameters of a group of the nonlinear loads are first measured, and then a neural network is used in order to identify which load, or group of loads, is active on the network. It is shown within an example that the task of loads identification can be done successfully.

The development of modern cars is based on complex embedded systems. These systems are based on several multiprocessor systems composed of multiple cores on which software components are executed. Software components consist of one or more runnables that are executed on multiple cores and hosts. These systems are based only on Time-triggered technologies of static schedules. Processes (Runnables) necessary for optimizing schedule are located in Autosar files. Communication between Runnables and communication with peripheries is realized through automotive communication protocols (CAN, FlexRay, TTEthernet…). During the development of these systems, attention is paid to quality control and execution time of software components. In this paper, there is a description of a process of schedule generation and optimization according to event chains by using software tool, which can also visually represent generated files.

In this study, the construction of the hybrid, with the crossed strips, is presented. The hybrid is designed as a broadside-coupled suspended strip-line coupler, with the crossed strips, for the frequency range from 150 MHz to 200 MHz, with the central frequency at 175 MHz. The strips made of brass, with the Teflon substrate between them, are placed inside the aluminum casing filled with air. The hybrid has to direct the sum of the two input signals, ports 1 and 4, towards an output port (port 2 or 3), leaving nothing at the second output port (port 3 or 2). The input signals have 16 KW of power each, while the output signal has 32 KW of power. Knowledge of the conditions, which must be satisfied by the hybrid, enables the acquisition of dimensions of the hybrid, through the process of EM simulation. The values of the S-parameters of the simulated coupler are being compared, to the values of the S-parameters of the produced coupler to validate the design process.
