In addition, the article points towards opportunities for using AI tools, for example Google Colab, ChatGPT, Methods Wizards, or Petal for single or multiple stages and tasks of structured literature analyses.

Host versus home country influence on the immigrant entrepreneurial process: an imprinting perspective 东道国与母国对移民创业过程的影响:印记视角

Since its first use in organisational research, nearly five decades ago, imprinting has gained recognition in entrepreneurship studies. Accordingly, this study utilises the behavioural concept to develop new theorisations to account for the entrepreneurial processes of immigrant entrepreneurs. It pays attention on its effects on immigrant entrepreneurs, particularly when it comes to their decision–making and behaviours towards business creation in Canada. A comprehensive analysis of a dataset generated from a systematically selected group of immigrant entrepreneurs revealed the complexity of their imprints at various stages of their entrepreneurial cycle in the North American country. It emerged that imprinting not only modified their behaviours, attitudes and cognition, but also shaped the trajectory of their entrepreneurial processes. That is, their imprints had an effect on how they identified business opportunities, the types of businesses they pursued, their level of entrepreneurial drive, and the types of resources they acquired or accessed in their new environment. Notably, following a period of normalisation in their new surroundings, their original imprints changed due to diminishing affinity with their country-of-origin. This holds research and policy implications as it uncovers an unfolding but less-understood entrepreneurship phenomenon.

Forecasting EUA futures volatility with geopolitical risk: evidence from GARCH-MIDAS models 利用地缘政治风险预测欧盟农产品期货波动性:GARCH-MIDAS 模型提供的证据

This paper examines whether the information contained in geopolitical risk (GPR) can improve the forecasting power of price volatility for carbon futures traded in the EU Emission Trading System. We employ the GARCH-MIDAS model and its extended forms to estimate and forecast the price volatility of carbon futures using the most informative GPR indicators. The models are examined for both statistical and economic significance. According to the results of the Model Confidence Set tests for the full-sample and sub-sample data, we find that the extended model, which accounts for the threat of geopolitical risk, exhibits superior forecasting ability for the full-sample data, while the model that includes drastic changes in geopolitical risk in Phase II and the model that considers serious geopolitical risk in Phase III have the best predictive power. Moreover, all GPR-related variables we use contribute to increasing economic gains. In particular, the threat of geopolitical risk contains valuable information for future EUA futures volatility and can provide the highest economic gains. Therefore, carbon market investors and policymakers should pay great attention to geopolitical risk, especially its threat, in risk and portfolio management.

Abstract

Due to the digital transformation, organizations have incorporated technologies in all areas of the company, creating digital business ecosystems. These in turn, with the tools that compose it, influence the satisfaction of stakeholders and business performance. The objective of this research is to know how the digital business ecosystem affects customer and employee satisfaction and whether this satisfaction has an impact on business performance. To achieve this objective, a model is proposed to which a PLS technique is applied to a sample of 1319 Spanish SMEs. The results of this innovative study show, on the one hand, a positive relationship of the digital business ecosystem with the satisfaction of both stakeholders, and, on the other hand, and as the main contribution of this study, it has been found that employee satisfaction positively influences business performance. This research offers a novel model capable of relating how the satisfaction of both customers and employees in a digital environment improves business performance. It also contributes to the literature by widening the field of study and overcomes a new gap for SMEs.

Abstract

Incorporating a progressive income tax into an economic decision problem raises the question whether this tax does not create arbitrage opportunities. We investigate this problem in a riskless (multi-period) economy. With a convex tax function we identify a particular kind of arbitrage (called bounded arbitrage): In this case the gain achievable through arbitrage trade is limited and cannot reach infinity.We are able to give a complete characterisation based on prizes of the traded assets as to whether bounded as well as unbounded arbitrage opportunities will exist.

How does corporate social performance affect (prospective) employees? A systematic literature review of experimental studies 企业社会绩效如何影响(未来)员工?实验研究的系统文献综述

There is a consensus between academics and practitioners that acquiring and maintaining a competitive workforce is key for corporate success. The claim that corporate social performance (CSP) can give companies a competitive edge in the competition for talent and affect the existing workforce positively has been a mantra repeated in many business textbooks. However, whether this claim, after 25 years after of burgeoning empirical research, still holds, ultimately remains an empirical question with far reaching consequences for businesses. This systematic literature review gives an overview of the development of the field and synthesizes the findings of experimental studies in order to understand how, when, and why CSP affects the behavior of job seekers and employees. Although finding that most of the empirical evidence suggests a positive causal effect of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on behaviors and attitudes of (prospective) employees, some studies demarcate boundary conditions that can compromise the stated effects. In addition to that, I identify three underdeveloped areas of inquiry potentially posing limitations to the current state of knowledge: There is (1) a lack of studies on corporate social irresponsibility (CSI) and adverse effects of CSR, (2) a geographic bias due to studies relying mostly on Europe and North American samples, and (3) a negligence of opportunity costs for CSP measures. Taken together this paper grants a more nuanced view for academics and practitioners alike.

We develop a robust mean-to-CVaR portfolio optimization model under interval ambiguity in returns means and covariance. The robust model satisfies second-order stochastic dominance consistency and is formulated as a semi-definite cone program. We use two controlled experiments to document the sensitivity of the optimal allocations to the ambiguity when asset correlation varies, and to the ambiguity intervals. We find that means ambiguity has a higher impact than covariance ambiguity. We apply the model to US equities data to corroborate works showing that ambiguity in mean returns induces a home bias; it can explain the puzzle in a two-country setting but not with three countries. We further establish that covariance ambiguity also induces bias, but with lower impact that can not explain the puzzle. Our results suggest what is needed for the ambiguity channel to provide a full explanation of the puzzle. The findings are robust to alternative model specifications and outliers.

The robust model satisfies second-order stochastic dominance consistency and is formulated as a semi-definite cone program. We use two controlled experiments to document the sensitivity of the optimal allocations to the ambiguity when asset correlation varies, and to the ambiguity intervals. We find that means ambiguity has a higher impact than covariance ambiguity. We apply the model to US equities data to corroborate works showing that ambiguity in mean returns induces a home bias; it can explain the puzzle in a two-country setting but not with three countries. We further establish that covariance ambiguity also induces bias, but with lower impact that can not explain the puzzle. Our results suggest what is needed for the ambiguity channel to provide a full explanation of the puzzle. Rethinking internationalization processes: toward a circular framework 反思国际化进程:建立循环框架

Why should models and theories that have set images and boundaries of the internationalization process in the past remain constant over time within International Business research? Despite a recent emphasis on its nonlinear nature, many still view internationalization as a forward-moving process, overlooking its dynamic nature involving enter, re-enter, and exit decisions during the process. To discuss this issue, this paper rethinks the existing International Business literature to retain its explanatory power as an essential discipline by developing a circular framework to capture firms' non-linear internationalization process. The authors propose a circular framework with the decision-making process as the unit of analysis and four statuses: Enter, De-Internationalization, Re-Internationalization, and Operation Internationalized. The decision-making process guides firms through the statuses simultaneously or individually, in the same or a diverse temporal dimension. With this circular framework, the authors wish to contribute to future International Business research; research that can keep up with the “real” world.
