The full reference quality assessment metrics for super resolution of an image: Shedding light or casting shadows? 图像超分辨率的完整参考质量评估指标:散光还是投射阴影?

There is a driving need for digital images of high resolution and quality in different Multimedia applications. However, a high resolution digital camera is still very expensive in the market. To meet such demand of today, the super resolution techniques promises to provide a high resolution image for multiple low resolution input images. But to judge the performance of existing super resolution algorithms objectively is a difficult task because lack of sufficient realiable testing tools. In this paper, it is shown that the existing Full Reference (FR) metrics cast shadows on the overall quality of super resolved image so judging super resolution quality using them is not an good idea. The main reasons for that is they do not take the visual masking phenomenon into consideration and also, they depends on the reference input, which itself may be of low quality. Experimental results shows that there is a need for a new Full Reference metric that shed light on the quality of reconstructed image in order to compare the performance of different existing super resolution (SR) methods.

Agent-based distributed performance measurement system for ITSP projects 基于agent的ITSP项目分布式绩效评估系统

Measuring the development of an enterprise software project progress and performance is crucial to assure a project follow its path. This attention stems in parts from the frequent reports of high profile cases of mismanaged in IT projects particularly in enterprise level such as information technology strategic planning (ITSP) projects. Many project performance measurement models and frameworks have been proposed to address the problem, however, they are usually hard to manage and inefficient in practice due to the complexity, distribution and dynamism of these types of projects. A large and growing body of literature has shown the advantages of employing the agent technology in distributed, dynamic, and complex environments. Therefore, in this study the advantages of the agent technology will be applied to improve the progress and measurement process of the software project performance measurement approaches. In this paper, a multi-agent system architectural model with the focus in implementation phase of the ITSP projects is proposed to promote and facilitate the process of project performance measurement. Furthermore the prototype of the proposed solution is explained and the evaluation approach is discussed.

MEG and EEG fusion in Bayesian frame 贝叶斯框架下脑电信号与脑电信号的融合

In biomedical brain imaging, several distinctive brain imaging modalities have been developed with each demonstrating particular strengths and weaknesses. Despite such recent developments in biomedical brain imaging, an essential question persists: How can multi-modalities be effectively integrated so that they complement each other without compromising their inherently beneficial qualities? Toward such an end, Bayesian frame represents a reasonable solution for even the most complicated problems since corresponding fusion is particularly straightforward. Accordingly, a Bayesian integrative strategy for MEG and EEG brain imaging modalities is proposed in this work. The corresponding effects of synergy as well as overall feasibility are examined through numerical simulations. In addition, spatiotemporal noise covariance incorporated into the fusion frame is discussed.

A development of mechanism for reducing snoring 减少打鼾机制的发展

Obstructive sleep apnea, the most common form of sleep apnea, is caused by upper airway partial or complete blockage. It has been implicated in the etiology of cardiovascular diseases. Many studies were performed that snoring, which occurs in at least 20% of the general population and 50% of the 50-year-old men, is recognized as the cardinal symptom of OSA. It is critical to prevent development of sleep apnea through control of snoring in early stage. In this study, a new mechanism was developed to detect the snoring sounds automatically and reduce snoring by inflation of air bladder inside the pillow. Clinical evaluation of developed mechanism was performed with the use of polysomnograph (PSG) at the sleep center in Korea. A volunteer was participated for clinical study to test the effectiveness of snore stopping function for one night, 190 minutes with the developed mechanism powered off and 172.5 minutes with the same developed mechanism powered on. In case of PSG results, sleep efficiency is reduced 8.5% for the second half of the sleep. Snoring statistics shows highly meaningful values with the use of developed mechanism. Snoring time was reduced about 63% with the use of developed mechanism. Number of snoring episode was increased 58.3%, however, it may not be directly related with the effectiveness of developed mechanism since the purpose of the pillow is not for reducing snoring episodes. Average snoring episode shows quite amount of decrement from 3.2 minutes to 0.5 minutes. Longest snoring episode was reduced about 95%, and it means that developed mechanism discontinued snoring successfully whenever it detects snoring sounds. The further study would be continued for more wide clinical studies with various inflation/deflation conditions of air bladder.

An intelligent tutoring system for C++ c++智能辅导系统

Curriculum sequencing is one of the important activities in intelligent tutoring system. This paper presents learning strategy for study and a heuristic method for curriculum sequencing of courseware in intelligent tutoring system. The method has been deployed for the learning of C++. Student's performance in particular course ware for different types of content and questions concerned such as analytical, reasoning, descriptive, reasoning -descriptive, analytical -descriptive, analytical- reasoning and analytical- reasoning-descriptive questionnaire has been evaluated. Based on the performance of student decision has been made whether he has to proceed further or repeat the same course ware for learning.

Computerized algorithm for 3D teeth segmentation 三维牙齿分割的计算机算法

This paper presents the computerized segmentation algorithm on the 3D digital dental model for separating individual tooth using Borland C++ Builder® and OpenGL. The purpose is to apply the algorithm in the 3D orthodontic diagnosis and treatment software package. The method consists of 5 main steps as follows. First the digital dental model is produced by 3D scanner in STL format and the occlusal plane is calculated. Second the arch form of the model is approximated. Third the panoramic of the dental cast in 3D system is constructed. Fourth, the 3D-panoramic is converted to 2D system to find the cutting points for segmentation of individual tooth, and finally the 2D image is converted back to 3D system for creating the vertical plane for separating teeth into difference colors at the cutting points. The result has shown that the 3D digital dental model can be segmented for separating individual tooth, and the algorithm is ready to apply in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment software package.

Measure of similarity between interval-valued fuzzy numbers based on standard deviation operator 基于标准差算子的区间模糊数相似性度量

This study suggested a new similarity measured method that based on the standard deviation operator to solve before similarity measurement between interval-valued fuzzy numbers, and 15 sets of interval-valued fuzzy numbers are adopted to compare the proposed method with existing similarity measures. The results of the comparison indicate the proposed is better than existing methods.

Frequency-to-voltage conversion using OTA 使用OTA进行频率到电压的转换

In recent years Operational Transconductance Amplifier (OTA) based integrated circuits, filters and analog circuits have been widely investigated. The usefulness of OTAs over conventional OP-Amps in the design of active circuits are well documented. This paper presents a new sinusoidal frequency-to-voltage converter which can linearly convert low voltage signals which is not possible with commercial converter ICs such as LM2917. This converter is based on an OTA based differentiator and an OTA based half wave rectifier.

In the past few years, a number of image cryptosystems have been proposed. However, many of them have been shown to be insecure. In this paper we present a robust and efficient cryptosystem based on the synchronization of a chaotic time delay system to transmit a digital image in a secure way. It consists of two steps: the first one assures the transmitter/receiver synchronization, the second step focuses on the encryption/decryption procedure. The transmitter module consists of a chaotic generator which is the time delay feedback Chua circuit and an encryption mechanism (chaotic masking), in which the secret message (digital image) is added to the output of the chaotic generator. The receiver module consists of a nonlinear state observer design which is driven by only one of the states of the time delay feedback Chua circuit and a decryption mechanism. A secure analysis proves that this cryptosystem is robust to some best-known attacks. This efficiency relies to the properties of the chosen chaotic generator and the efficiency of the nonlinear observer.

Energy efficient hybrid intrusion detection system for wireless sensor networks 无线传感器网络的高能效混合入侵检测系统

In this work, we propose the architecture of hybrid intrusion detection system (eHIDS) for wireless sensor networks. In order to get hybrid scheme, we use combined version of anomaly and misuse detection techniques. In addition, we use cluster-based wireless sensor networks to reduce communication and computation costs. We evaluate the performance of our scheme by simulating the network and comparing with other related schemes. The simulation results show that our scheme performs better than other schemes in terms of energy efficiency and high detection rate.
