The sea and Brazil have always been close because it was through him that the country was discovered and is currently its main route to foreign trade, in addition to being a source of energy, food and mineral resources. The relationship between the nation and the sea can be understood by studying the operation of Brazilian waterway traffic and how maritime safety is important for national development. To develop this theme, this article provides an overview of basic concepts of waterway traffic and the Blue Economy, discussing traffic safety actions that allow economic development at sea to ensure the safety of vessels. Thus, it concludes that the protection of Brazilian waters, in addition to imposing the sovereignty of the country, is crucial for the future of the country.

In the current scenario of globalization, waterways are trully relevant for the flow of various products throughout the world, with emphasis on the commercialization and movement of oil and its derivatives. In this sense, the purpose of this article is to present the importance of monitoring vessel traffic in the Brazilian waters for the prevention of oil pollution. To this end, the definitions of oil pollution and its impacts on the environment and the country's economy will initially be introduced. Next, the rules relating to the topic that exist at a global and national level will be explained. Finally, the existing mechanisms in Brazil for the inspection and control of vessels and incidents related to oil pollution in the waters will be presented, concluding the crucial role of this inspection in order to avoid and/or minimize the risk of polluting incidents.

The core of this work is to address the origins of the Welfare State, albeit succinctly, its crisis and whether there is any connection between the crisis and the increase in economic crime in the countries. We observe the structuring of the Welfare State at the beginning of the 20th century and took place in the leading countries of European capitalism as a result of the growing working mass. As it could not be otherwise, the social framework of the social policies developed at that time were predominantly of a social security nature and those resulting from accidents at work, taking advantage, above all, of the increase in trade union organizations in their greatest concentration in countries such as England, France and Germany. Currently in the context of globalization, the welfare state encounters a series of difficulties and the need to recalibrate itself. What we try to demonstrate is that there is a relationship between countries that have not abandoned the roots of their “social heart” and countries that today appear to have the lowest rates of economic crime, according to studies by international organizations. In other words, there is a relationship between the maintenance – recalibrated – of public policies with a lower incidence of financial crimes, the reasons range from reducing levels of social inequality, improving purchasing power, but mainly promoting the notion of social integration, as demonstrated using applied management in Scandinavia as the study premise.

Chemistry is a fundamental discipline for understanding and solving real-world problems. However, many students in Adult Education (EJA) face challenges in learning and developing an interest in the subject. This article reports on an experience conducted within the scope of the Integrated Extension Project (PIEX) at the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Rondônia (IFRO), focusing on a more playful and participatory approach to teaching Chemistry. Using active methodologies and concepts from Piagetian Constructivism, the project aimed to provide activities aimed at improving the learning of students, specifically those in Adult Education. Throughout the development of the project, it became evident that innovative, playful, and active approaches that involve cooperative work make the teaching of Chemistry more engaging and effective, leading to positive outcomes in student comprehension and engagement. Contents covered through methodologies that embraced Piagetian concepts achieved the proposed objectives.

At all times, large-scale companies in the world market are more concerned with promoting ways and spending more resources that favor their gains in reducing expenses and reducing indicators that contribute to their final profitability. Therefore, the theme of reverse logistics is increasingly relevant within the scenarios of global companies, given the growing statistics of the common denominator, the waste of raw materials. Among the most expressive are the electronics sector, as its productive material, in addition to being expensive, sets a precedent for the debate on another topic, which would be electronic waste, it mixes with the concept of reverse logistics in the sense of a set of actions which involve a system of reutilization, reuse or recycling of waste treatment produced by the disposal of postconsumer products. Therefore, this present research dealt with a case study scenario, within a company in this sector that proposed to conceptualize reverse logistics through a specific internal project to reduce its numbers with material loss. The case, in addition to being an overwhelming result, demonstrated that the expectations generated by the company can be a reference factor for other projects.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the construction sector in Brazil faced significant obstacles, which included uncertainties, interruptions, the implementation of health regulations and guidelines, adoption of new working methods and, prominently, faced challenges arising from shortages and cost increases. The general objective of the present work is to analyze the evolution of the main inputs, while analyzing their consumption during the COVID-19 pandemic period. The methodology used was through a bibliographical review of the literature, with analysis of works published in the last 5 years. The main result found portrays the change in pricing of inputs since 2020, especially in the months considered the most troubled in the country, bringing prices to very high values. The conclusion of the work permeates the sense of showing how much the civil construction market is directly affected by external factors.

This study is about the design of a portable refrigerator powered by renewable energy. Research is done on small scale solar and wind energy availability. The refrigeration is generated by thermoelectric modules, also known as Peltier modules. A successful refrigeration project begins with the correct calculation of the heating load. These calculations are based on local data from the intended area of operation (Tramandaí). The Peltier module selection is done through a heat transfer analysis based on the heat sinks used on the design and using the datasheet provided by the module manufacturer. The software EnergyPlus is used to calculate the available power provided by the photovoltaic panel during operation. Finally a brief study about the system electric components is done and its connections are represented in a simplified drawing. The design of the portable refrigerator has some physical and energetic constraints, like the large size and weight of its components, great energy consume by the Peltier modules and the low rate of energy powered by the renewable sources, adding a limitation to the heating. However, when the product is placed at 5 °C in the refrigerator, the temperature is preserved, and the refrigerator works within its limitations energy.

The intervention of the Inquisition in world history brings to the collective imagination a certain anguish, even if undeserved, and also suggested in the national penal system. The present work analyzes the historical aspect of the procedural molds of the Inquisition and relates them to the Fake News Inquiry; examines, demonstrates and clarifies the different forms adopted by the ecclesiastical judicial organization created during the twelfth and thirteenth centuries in the fight against heresy or to prevent its spread, in the Medieval Inquisition, in the Spanish Inquisition and in the Portuguese Inquisition from a procedural point of view and historical; seeks to make an exposition of the actuality of the Inquisition in the Brazilian penal system, with examples: the police investigation, the indictment of the author, the complaint; directly relating to the “Fake News” Inquiry and the “Daniel Silveira” case. To prepare this article, bibliographical, documentary, descriptive and qualitative research will be used, with studies of scholars and Constitutional matters being addressed. It became clear, therefore, that the Inquisition was nothing more than a procedural advance in world history. However, nowadays the “Fake News” Inquiry, which by the word should be a procedural step arising from the Inquisition, since its inception, violates the Constitution and goes so far as to extrapolate, in many respects, problems that not eventhe Inquisition had.

This article deals with the study of the picking process of a pharmaceutical distribution company located in the city of Manaus/AM, the largest urban centre in the Brazilian Amazon where, due to its geographical characteristics and the need to efficiently serve the capital and the small drugstores located in small communities, it has different characteristics and specificities from other places on the planet. The definition and analysis of performance indicators for a Distribution Centre are topics that are discussed, improved and recurrent, and the performance of the Picking process is one of the main indicators, especially for the case studied, where the company serves. Most of the customers are small businesses that don't have adequate space in their units for storing products and working capital that can be committed to stock. This is the type of customer that predominates in the city of Manaus and the state of Amazonas. This characteristic requires distribution to sort and deliver small quantities with great frequency, thus avoiding a shortage of pharmaceutical products. The aim of this study is to identify the factors that directly influence the drop in the service level of the picking routines. In order to achieve this objective, the Value Stream Mapping quality tool was used, and strategies were then implemented to solve the problems identified in the analysis process. In order to carry out the research during the methodological process, data collection included direct observation of the operation, documentary records from the quality area, such as stock control spreadsheets and performance reports by operators, as well as the use of closed questionnaires for customers and employees. The results and conclusions obtained in relation to the factors that directly influence a drop in the level of service of the picking routines are 05: picking items by stations, thin stock (retail), order consolidation and closing, printing invoices, printing orders, distribution of orders by picking zones. As for defining a methodology for measuring the service level of the picking routines, according to our study, the quality tool that best applies is the VSM. With regard to the opportunities for improvement identified in the processes under analysis, we highlight 05 Improvement in the process of replenishing allocations, Improvement in the addressing of the Flow-rack, Improvement in the information technology infrastructure, Improvement in the technology in the automation process.
