Performance appraisal and incentive systems are one of the fundamental tools utilised by succeeding businesses, both public and private, in increasing employee performance, as they serve to keep employees on their toes and motivated to work for the organization's betterment. Personal bias, recent effects, spillover, and a lack of clarity in the job description are some of the characteristics that militate against using performance appraisal as a strategy for improving employee performance, according to the findings. The study suggested, among other things, the creation of a clearly defined benchmark for rewarding employees who perform exceptionally well in their job delivery. This is to ensure transparency in the process of rewarding employees for a job well done, as this will encourage others to perform better. Finally, a performance appraisal should not only be based on an employee's recent performance or spill-over, personal bias but the employee's overall performance over the period under review.

This research was designed to examine the relationship between Maintenance Management and organizational performance among selected manufacturing firms in Akwa Ibom State. Survey research design was adopted for the study and a sample size of 258 respondents was drawn from the population of 275. For the objective of the study to be achieved, five hypotheses were formulated. The major instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire administered to the respondent using random sampling techniques. Data collected were analysed using simple percentage and Ordinal Logistic Regression. Results show that there is a significant correlation between variables of maintenance management such as corrective, preventive, condition-based maintenance and pre-determined maintenance and organizational performance variables of effectiveness, efficiency and profitability among selected manufacturing firms in Akwa Ibom State. Based on the finding of the analysis, management has to provide the maintenance teams with a maintenance management software in order to ensure proper interventions monitoring as well as smooth communication between technicians and other professionals to enhances business success. Consequently, it is recommended that Management should ensure that Corrective maintenance is implemented right after a defect has been detected on a piece of equipment or a production line: its objective is to make the piece of equipment work normally again, so that it can perform its assigned function. Corrective maintenance can either be planned or unplanned depending on whether or not a maintenance plan has been created.

The goal of this study is to analyze how the historical cost approach of valuing assets in Nigerian manufacturing businesses is influenced by the fair value accounting methodology. From a total of twelve listed petroleum businesses on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, five were selected at random. As a descriptive study, secondary data was collected. The Central Bank of Nigeria's Bureau of Statistics supplied data on performance reports and stock prices for the assets under examination, while historical values were collected from the published annual financial statements of the firms and fair values were assessed using the price index. When comparing assets appraised at fair value and those valued at historical cost, the T-test statistical technique was applied to discover if there is a significant difference. Profession accounting organizations should continue to study asset valuation in order to establish a consistent method for determining the value of an asset.

This research was designed to examine the relationship between Social Intelligence and Successful Strategic Change Management, a study of Jubilee syringe Manufacturing Co. Ltd, Akwa Ibom State. Cross sectional survey design was adopted for the study and a sample size of 118 respondents was drawn from the population size of 330. For the objective of the study to be achieved, five hypotheses were formulated. The major instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire administered to the respondent using random sampling techniques. Data collected were analysed using simple percentage and Spearman Rank correlation. Results show that there is a significant correlation between Social Intelligence and Successful Strategic Change Management. Based on the finding of the analysis, In conclusion, this study supported other recent research findings that social intelligence is an important successful change management that is predictive of leadership. It also furthered the notion that intelligence is important in creating appropriate and original problem constructions. Because social intelligence is a trait that accounts for effective leader behaviour across multiple situations, it seems to reconcile the trait and situation approaches to leadership. Consequently, It is recommended that managers ensure positive organizational environment (working conditions, policies and procedures) necessary for stimulating successful strategic change management. Also, empirical studies should be conducted to identify factors that predict Successful Strategic Change Management among employees in Nigeria.

This study investigates the relationship between ergonomics and organizational sustainability. Four specific objectives, four research questions and hypotheses guided the study. The variables under review were work posture, mental workload, new work paradigms and factory layout. The study is restricted to peacock paint limited located at Ikot Ekan, Etinan LGA. Descriptive survey research was employed for the study. The total population of this research study was 308 which comprises of the staff (employers and workers) of peacock paint limited, Ikot Ekan. Etinan LGA. The sample size for this study is 174 determined using Taro Yamani formula. Simple random sampling technique was employed for the study. The information for the research work was collected from primary and secondary sources. The primary source was mainly through questionnaire. The secondary sources involved review of company’s document and literature on ergonomics. The validity of the instrument was ascertained through presenting the instrument to the experts who assessed the suitability of the instrument for measuring the variables under study. To determine the reliability of the instrument, the instrument was presented to group of staff in a factory (Peacock Paint Limited) using a pilot test. Cronbach Alpha was then used to determine the reliability index which gave a value of 0.962. The instrument was then administered to the staff of Peacock Paint Limited. The data was analysed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) to answer the research questions and to test the null hypotheses at 0.5level of significance. Findings of the study show that Work Posture, Mental Workload, New Work Paradigms and factory layout are all related to Organisational Sustainability. It is concluded that there is a relationship between ergonomics and Organizational Sustainability. It is recommended among others that Job rotation as a matter of policy should be practiced by the company. That is, Workplace should be efficiently designed to enable easy interaction between workers and equipment and in support of new work paradigms; the company should consider allowing employees work in shifts. The management of peacock paint limited should take some effective measures to safe guide the health of workers by providing safety tools and equipment.

Communication is one of the most critical management practices in an organization. It is argued that managers spend over 70 percent of their time communicating. This is because without effective communication, understanding is lost or compromised in the ‘noise’ and mess that is everyday work life. Communication is effective if done well downwards, upwards and sideways from seniors, subordinates and peers respectively and effective feedback given. The means or channels of communication should also be very clear and short to avoid long bureaucracies and excessive routes that compromise the quality of what is being communicated. The health sector in Kenya is highly regulated by both the Government and relevant professional bodies to ensure quality is maintained in training of medical caregivers and in dispensing services. Three major categories of healthcare service providers exist in Kenya – public, private and mission/faith-based organizations with variants in between. Meru County, one of the forty-seven counties in Kenya, is situated almost at the center of the country and has all these major categories of hospitals. Within the mission hospitals in Meru County, besides the government and professional bodies, close regulation is also practiced by faith-based organizations that sponsor the hospitals. The purpose of this study was to establish the nature and effect of communication in providing quality service delivery in the mission hospitals in Meru County, Kenya. The study was formulated as a survey to cover all the eight mission hospitals namely Nkubu, Chaaria, Kiirua, Maua, Mutuati, Tigania, Igoji and Gitoro. Piloting was done at Wamba mission hospital in Isiolo county to ensure validity of study tools. Descriptive study design was used. Major stakeholders in the hospitals were targeted as respondents including CEOs, Human resource and public relations officers and other staff as internal stakeholders while patients, suppliers and neighbours formed external stakeholders. A total of 128 were interviewed as a representative sample. A drop and pick method was used where questionnaires for each hospital were delivered and distributed to the potential respondents. Some respondents like patients and neighbours were assisted by researchers to fill in the questionnaires to avoid bothering them unnecessarily. Data was analyzed quantitatively using SPSS Version 23 and results described using descriptive statistics and presented in tables. The study found that communication had a significant positive affect on quality-of-service delivery (R=0.498, F=6.922, P=0.00) in mission hospitals.Effective communication and customer care was lauded as a critical consideration in dealing with clients and was emphasized among all levels of staff of mission hospitals to ensure sustainability of quality service delivery. The study recommended further analysis of private and public hospitals on the same parameters for comparison.
