The article discusses an approach to the "decoding" of luminescence spectra obtained by the photographic technique by presenting them in the form of graphs of the dependence of the luminescence intensity on the wavelength using a specially developed computer program (computer microphotometry).

The prospects of SRS-active calcium/strontium orthovanadate crystals, Ca3(VO4)2 and Ca2.7Sr0.3(VO4)2, for spectral conversion of ultrashort visible-range laser pulses evaluated in a single-pass scheme with pump focusing into the samples. For the ~3 J incident laser pulses of 0.3 ps duration at wavelength of 515 nm the energy conversion efficiency of up to ~3.5% to the Stokes component shifted in frequency by ~850 cm–1 obtained in a 1.3 cm long sample of Ca2.7Sr0.3(VO4)2 crystal. Simultaneously, in the transmitted radiation spectrum the amplitude of Stokes component reached 1/3 of the amplitude at the pump wavelength. Under the same conditions, SRS in a Ca3(VO4)2 crystal was not detected at all. It was shown that the observed differences can be explained by the attenuation of pump pulse due to difference in two-photon absorption in these crystals.

Based on the semiclassical theory of the interaction of two-frequency laser radiation with a resonant atomic medium, an analytical expression is obtained that describes the form of resonances of electromagnetically induced transparency detected in a cell with a finite direction in the longitudinal laser beam direction with an anti-relaxation coating of walls, taking into account the motion of atoms and collisions with walls. The following types of reflection from walls are considered: diffuse, specular, and specular-incoherent. It is found that in a number of cases the diffuse type of reflection exhibits the properties of a mirror-incoherent one. It is also shown that the nondegeneracy of the excited state in a number of cases significantly changes the shape of the transparency resonance.

At present, a significant part of experiments on the interaction of high-power short laser pulses with solid targets is faced with the problem of target modification under the action of a nanosecond prepulse. In this paper, a series of hydrodynamic calculations of target irradiation with a nanosecond laser pulse is performed, which describes the plasma density profiles arising during the target expansion as a function of the parameters of the laser prepulse/additional pulse. The results obtained can make it possible to improve the efficiency of ion acceleration in the interaction of short laser pulses with a profiled plasma target.

Fluoride nanocrystals co-doped with lanthanide ions are well known due to the possibility of conversion near-infrared (NIR) radiation into photoluminescence with large anti-Stokes shift. Owing to upconversion effect, such nanomaterials have shown great potential in photonics and biomedicine. However, fluoride nanoparticles can be reconfigured to photoluminescence with a Stokes shift into the near-infrared region of the spectrum. In this work, we focused on the properties of NaRF4: Yb3+, Er3+, Ce3+ (R = Y, Lu) nanoparticles exhibiting intense stokes luminescence in the vicinity of 1530 nm at 975 nm excitation. Photoluminescence quantum efficiency of synthesized nanoparticles was evaluated as 28% at 0.6 W/cm2 excitation intensity. Based on the photoluminescent properties of nanoparticles we designed compact waveguide amplifier for C-band telecommunication and developed time gated imaging system for NIR-to-NIR biovisualization.

The optical and generation characteristics of 8.3(3) at. % Yb:YSAG ceramics (Y2,55Yb0,25Sc1,00Al4,2O12) made by solid solution powder sintering. Lasing was obtained on the basis of Yb:YSAG ceramics and the characteristics of laser radiation were studied at different transmittances of the output mirror of the resonator. The maximum generation power was 1.8 W at 3.6 W of absorbed pumping in the quasi-cw generation mode. The maximum differential efficiency was 57% for a mirror with a transmittance of 14.5%.

The infrared transmission spectra of Cu3Yb(SeO3)2O2Cl, an ytterbium analogue of the natural mineral francisite, have been studied in a wide temperature range. Two phase transitions (at TN = 35 K and TR = 9 K) were registered by studying the splittings of Yb3+ Kramers doublets. It is shown that the low-temperature transition is spin-reorientational one. An analysis within the framework of the mean field theory allows us to conclude that the single-ion magnetic anisotropy of ytterbium does not coincide with the anisotropy of the copper magnetic subsystem. An estimate of the energy required for the reorientation of the copper magnetic subsystem has been obtained, it is 864 Jmol-1. It was found that the probability of a 0-0 transition in the Yb3+ ion changes in the temperature range of both phase transitions, presumably due to spontaneous magnetostriction.

The effect of different models of artificial light exposure on the aggregation activity of platelets of white male rats using a continuous Light-Light (LL) lighting model and models with alternating Light-Dark (12:10) and Light-Dark (18:6) light and dark modes was studied. Analysis of platelet aggregation activity was performed with a computerized 230LA "Biola" aggregation analyzer using the method of V.A. Gabbasov. It was found that under light exposure in the body of laboratory animals there is an increase of platelet aggregation activity accompanied by an increase in the parameters of the weighted average radius curve and the parameters of the light transmittance curve. Alteration of circadian rhythms in the form of impaired photoperiodism leads to an increase in platelet aggregation activity and provokes the development of microcirculatory disorders. The most pronounced changes in the microcirculatory bed by day 10 of the experiment are formed using the Light-Dark model (18:6).

Исследована зависимость от температуры спектрально-люминесцентных характеристик комплексов редкоземельных элементов (РЗЭ) с N-гетероциклическим лигандом на основе 2,2'-бипиридилдикарбоксамида при одновременном присутствии двух излучающих центров (европий + тербий). Измерения проводились в физиологическом диапазоне температур (20-60oС). Растворы лиганда, гексагидрата нитрата европия и пентагидрата нитрата тербия в ацетонитриле (концентрации 3·10-5 mol/l) смешивались в соотношении 1 : 1 : 1. Для того, чтобы выявить особенности энергетических переходов в таких соединениях, полученные результаты сравнивались с аналогичными результатами для растворов комплекса европия или тербия с тем же лигандом. Для исследуемых соединений получены времена жизни ионов европия и тербия в растворах при различных температурах. Получены зависимости квантового выхода люминесценции соединений от температуры. Рассчитаны отношения интегральных интенсивностей люминесценции ионов европия и тербия в зависимости от температуры. Обнаружено, что время жизни люминесценции ионов европия и тербия в растворе на длинах волн регистрации европия и тербия (615 и 545 nm) не зависит от порядка смешивания лиганда, европия и тербия. Также по экспериментальным данным сделан вывод, что время жизни люминесценции не меняется в диапазоне температур от 20 до 60oС.
