Objective: to investigate the prevalence and predisposing factors to breastfeeding in the first hour of life in public maternity hospitals. Methods: this is a cross-sectional, analytical, and exploratory study of 390 puerperal women from two public maternity hospitals. Sociodemographic characteristics, obstetric history, and variables relating to labor, delivery, and postpartum were analyzed. Statistical differences were assessed using the chi-square test or Fisher's exact test. The prevalence ratio was calculated using Poisson regression with robust variance. Results: the prevalence of breastfeeding in the first hour of life in the delivery room was only 29.2% (95% Confidence Interval: 24.68-33.71) and was associated with noise, the clamping of the umbilical cord, skin-to-skin contact, and the time taken to bathe the newborn for the first time. Conclusion: the predisposing factors for breastfeeding in the first hour of life were associated with care measures adopted during labor and birth, calling for strategies to improve care. Contribution to practice: the results can provide guidance for structural and educational changes, with a view to improving the care offered to the population during labor and birth.

Objective: to identify the reasons that led families of children to vaccine hesitancy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: qualitative study with semi-structured interviews carried out with 20 children's relatives, all of which were mothers of hospitalized children. Data was submitted to lexicographical analysis in the software Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires, using descending hierarchical classification. Results: the fear of leaving one’s house during the pandemic and the lack of vaccine supplies were the reasons found for vaccine hesitancy in the family of children during the COVID-19 pandemic. Conclusion: the reasons for vaccine hesitancy in the families of children found in this study threaten advancements in the struggle against vaccine-preventable diseases. Contributions to the practice: government bodies, managers, and health unit nurses should be co-responsible for efficient measures to implement health education in this public, creating a bond of trust to reduce the risks from the increase in vaccine hesitancy and reduction in vaccine coverage in the country.

Objective: to characterize videos that contain a demonstration of the procedure for administering drugs intramuscularly to adults. Methods: a descriptive cross-sectional study, 44 Brazilian videos available on YouTube® were selected which addressed the procedure of intramuscular drug administration. Results: the majority of the videos selected are of personal origin (86.4%), were made by a Nursing technician (59.1%), used the dorsal gluteal region as the injection spot (54.5%), and were produced in a healthcare environment using a patient to demonstrate the procedure (52.3%). No video showed the completeness of the procedure, and a high frequency of errors was identified at all stages of the procedure. There was a statistically significant difference between the reliability and popularity tests of the videos (p=0.042). Conclusion: the videos on intramuscular drug administration available on the YouTube® platform were considered to be up-to-date, of little relevance, produced by unreliable sources, of low accuracy, and with a weak purpose. Contributions to practice: the videos available on the YouTube® platform on intramuscular drug administration should not be used as educational material for professional training or updating.

Objective: to construct a theoretical model that can represent the experience of people with disabilities during the physical rehabilitation process. Methods: qualitative research, based on the theoretical framework of Grounded Theory. We interviewed 28 participants in three sample groups, using a theoretical sampling and data circularity to analyze initial, focused, and theoretical codings. Results: the phenomenon "Experiencing the process of rehabilitation" was formed by 66 conceptual codes. Its conditions were the categories: “Coping with the new condition”, “Experiencing the challenge of rehabilitation”. Action-interaction: “Finding motivation for rehabilitation”; consequence: “Adapting to the condition”. Conclusion: the theoretical model highlights the need to cope with the disability, leading the individual to learn how to deal with challenges and to recognize the gradual and challenging nature of rehabilitation. Contributions to practice: the theoretical model is innovative for explaining the rehabilitation process in people with disabilities, highlighting the importance of facing the new condition, finding motivation, and adapting. The crucial role of the health team also stands out, as do the relevance of getting in touch with others who have been through the same process. The application of this model is expected to increase rehabilitation efficiency, culminating in higher quality of life for patients.

Objective: to identify the scientific evidence on the relationship between socioeconomic factors and mortality in children due to COVID-19. Methods: this is a scoping review. Searches were carried out in the following databases: US National Library of Medicine - National Institutes of Health; Scientific Electronic Library Online; Institute for Scientific Information; Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature; and SciVerse Scopus. Results: 15 articles were selected that showed the influence of socioeconomic factors on infant mortality from Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2. Conclusion: it was shown that socioeconomic factors are related to increased mortality from COVID-19 in the infant population, low income and residence in locations considered to be of greater socioeconomic vulnerability, which were presented as important variables to be considered in the COVID-19 pandemic. Contributions to practice: several factors are related to increased susceptibility to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus infection and worsening of the disease in children. However, understanding that socioeconomic factors can be a determinant of COVID-19 incidence and mortality in children highlights the need to invest in actions aimed at reducing socioeconomic inequalities, to reduce preventable deaths.

Objective: to evaluate sleep quality in people with chronic pain undergoing hemodialysis. Methods: observational, prospective, and cross-sectional study carried out in two hemodialysis clinics. The sample was formed by 76 people with chronic kidney disease and chronic pain who were undergoing hemodialysis. We used a sociodemopgrahic and clinical form, the visual analogue scale for pain, the McGill questionnaire, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. Results were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics and correlation tests. Results: most participants had very poor sleep quality. There was a correlation between sleep quality and the visual analogue scale for pain (p=0.027). There was a negative correlation between McGill pain scale descriptors and sleep quality (p=0.033). Conclusion: the sleep quality levels of most participants suffered alterations and were classified as poor or very poor. Contributions to practice: this study provides data on correlations associated with the sleep quality of patients with chronic pain undergoing hemodialysis. It also gives support for nursing teams to develop interventions to improve the sleep quality of these patients.

Objective: to analyze the evidence of content validity of the comic strip "I have diabetes, what now?" Methods: methodological research into the production of health technology in the form of a comic book to support family members and hospitalized children diagnosed with type 1 diabetes mellitus. After developing the educational technology, the content was validated with six children and seven family members using a Likert scale, with indicators analyzed using the Content Validity Index. Results: the educational technology showed good validation indices according to the evaluation of the children (0.833) and family members (1,000). Conclusion: the children identified with the character in the story and agreed that it was a tool for understanding the disease, and family members said that it would be useful to disseminate the technology in other health services. Contributions to practice: there are situations that permeate aspects related to the care of children with diabetes, so the comic book could contribute to the quality of multi-professional care for this population affected by Diabetes Mellitus.

Objective: to investigate the prevalence of Burnout Syndrome in nursing workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: cross-sectional study using instruments to collect sociodemographic and professional data and the Maslach Burnout Inventory. The population was formed by 52 nursing workers from three institutions that attend patients with COVID-19. The sampling was by convenience, and workers were contacted via email or WhatsApp®. We compared the means of each domain using Student's t-test, considering the variables from the Maslach Burnout Inventory, namely, emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and effectiveness at work. Results: the overall mean Burnout was 3.21. The differences between the means of emotional exhaustion and personal accomplishment domains were significant for the variables "would change jobs” (p<0.04) and “job satisfaction” (p<0.001). Conclusion: Workers had a high level of Burnout, being thus susceptible to mental suffering and psychic disease: Contributions to practice: the knowledge produced here can provoke reflections that will help develop and apply strategies to reduce the negative impact of the Burnout Syndrome in the health of the nursing professional.
