Students’ Critical Thinking And Writing Ability Reflected On Online Discussion Forum 网络论坛对学生批判性思维和写作能力的影响

The utilization of gadgets can influence student’s participation on teaching and learning process. To that aim, online discussion forum is often used allowing students to engage in critical contestation of ideas. Theoritically, criticism is the process of responding to and evaluating ideas, argument, and style of others. In light of learning process especially in the tertiary level, Dasbender (2011:38) asserts that students often come across critical thinking and analysis as requirements for assignments in writing and upper-level courses. In this study, graduate students’ comments on their discussion are analyzed. The analysis stems from the fact that such comments imply students’ ability to think critically on the aspects of inference, deduction, recognition of assumption, interpretation, and evaluation of arguments. The comments show how well students can argumentatively write their ideas based on the aspects of clarity, logicality, flexibility and relevancy. The data are collected from online discussion forum of Advanced Sociolinguistics subject in UNP. From the analysis, it is known that students have been able to give their interpretation related to the topic being discussed. The students still need to enhance their reading in order to be able to share ideas in case of deduction and inference because these two terms require students deep understanding on certain topic based on credible theories. Besides, student’s comments have reflected four indicators of argumentative writing overal.

The Effect of Semantic Mapping in Teaching Writing Skill on Seventh Grade Students of SMPN 3 Batusangkar 语义映射在七年级学生写作技巧教学中的作用

This research was aimed to see the effectiveness of semantic mapping technique in improving students` writing skill. The research design of this research was a quasi experimental design. The population was the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Batusangkar in the academic year of 2017/2018. The samples consisted of 51 students, which divided into two groups; they were experimental group and control group. In order to collect data about students‟ writing skill improvement and responses toward the implementation of semantic mapping technique, the writer used writing test. During the treatment, students in experimental group used semantic mapping technique, while students in control group used free writing technique. The analysis of the test result showed that the student of experimental group was higher than control group. In the post test, the mean score of the experimental group was 72,89 while the control group got 67,21. Based on statistical analysis by using t-test formula, indicated that the t-test was 1,94 and t-table was 1,67. It means that t-value was higher than t-table (1,94 >1,67). As a result, there is a significant difference in writing achievement between the students who are taught by using semantic mapping technique and those who are taught by using free writing technique. Based on the result of this study, the writer concluded that semantic mapping technique is effective to be implemented in teaching writing.
本研究旨在了解语义映射技术在提高学生写作技能方面的有效性。本研究的研究设计为准实验设计。人口是2017/2018学年的SMP Negeri 3 Batusangkar的七年级学生。样本由51名学生组成,分为两组;分为实验组和对照组。为了收集学生的写作技巧的提高和对语义映射技术的实施反应的数据,笔者采用了写作测试。在治疗过程中,实验组学生使用语义映射技术,对照组学生使用自由书写技术。对测试结果的分析表明,实验组学生的智力水平高于对照组。后测中,实验组平均得分为72,89分,对照组平均得分为67,21分。采用t检验公式进行统计分析,表明t检验为1.94,t表为1.67。这意味着t值高于t表(1,94 >1,67)。结果表明,使用语义映射法教学的学生与使用自由写作法教学的学生在写作成绩上存在显著差异。基于本文的研究结果,作者认为语义映射技术在写作教学中是有效的。

The Tradition of Indang Tagak Dance in Nagari Lubuk Gadang Utara Solok Selatan: An Aesthetic Study

The purpose of this article is to reveal the aesthetic values contained in the structure of the traditional Indang Tagak dance performance in North NagariLubukGadang, South Solok Regency. This dance has a characteristic which is the dancers are males and aged between 39 to 50 years. This research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The object of this research is the structure of the traditional IndangTagak dance performance in North LubukGadang, South Solok Regency. The researcher is a key instrument in this study. The data was collected through observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation of the socio-cultural symptomsand the existence of IndangTagak. Based on the results of the study, the IndangTagak dance has traditional aesthetics that are rooted in the local cultural values of the people of North NagariLubukGadang. The aesthetic values of the IndangTagakNagariLubukGadang Utara dance are found in the structure of motion, costume, floor design, music design, and property. The aesthetic value of the IndangTagak dance in NagariLubukGadang Utara is inseparable from the cultural values that form the basis for the LubukGadang Utara community. Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Art and Design as a Creative Economy Subsector 艺术与设计作为创意经济子部门的创业机会

This study aims to identify business opportunities in the field of art and design, in general in Indonesia and specifically in South Sulawesi. Qualitative research methods with purposive sampling techniques (based on research objectives) is used in this research. The data was interpretively interpretive with the Miles and Huberman flow systems. The results showed that nationally the art, craft and design sectors showed many exciting opportunities, especially when viewed from the number of developing communities, but the development in the commercial chain still tended to be dominated by Java and Bali, while in South Sulawesi it was still weak in the chain of commercialization. In general, it is still centralized in Makassar City. Some local artists in South Sulawesi continue to be creative by utilizing galleries and exhibitions as display and sales venues. The most attractive entrepreneurial opportunities in the city of Makassar are the graphic design sector which is supported by the political situation, the economy and the higher education sector with the opening of several suitable study programs.

The Traditional Marriage of Pekal Ethnic in North Bengkulu Regency 北明古鲁县佩卡尔族的传统婚姻

Meaning and composition the traditional procession of Pekalnese ethnic marriageit is unique, because it is different from other traditional marriages. Many young people of Pekal ethnicdon’t undestandwhy themmust following the existing marriage terms. Because of that the researcher intends todescribe the meaning and terms the traditional procession of Pekalnese ethnic marriage. This research is qualilative researchand is descriptive. The research performed by primary data collectionwith interview techniques, note data, and documentation.The result obtained are the most important requirements in traditional marriage of Pekal ethnic is kaum (a clan that is smaller than a tribe), because Pekal ethnic folloeing the eksogami matrilineal system. Because of that Pekal society can’t marry with someone who has the same kaum name. The next requirement is sarao kehing (food made from white sticky rice) and must be served on each stage of traditional procession of Pekalnese tribal marriage. Sarao kehing has a meaning for Pekalnese ethnic is as a symbol for husband and wife in order to keep famly secrets whether it ia a good or bad famly. While the composition the traditional procession of Pekalnese tribal marriage is marriage contract, ngubak basung (introduction husband to wife’s famly, clan famly, and the community), turun semendo (parade of bride surrounding the village), merah mato (put sedingin water into the eyes), pencak silat (traditional fight), serah semendo (releasing women as wives to husbands), betepung/sumpah mudo (redeeming female promises to other man before deciding to get married), begandai (traditional dancing and just female can do that), resepsi (modern party), and the last is tari (like a dancing but use the traditional fight, and just man can do that).

Challenges In Assessing Students’ Writing For Future Instruction 未来教学中评估学生写作的挑战

This study is analytical study that constitutes the information about what instruction is necessary to be designed to help bring about desired change. Instructional design is a special case of a larger process called human performance technology. The two processes are almost identical, structurally, in their overall stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Because this is a long process, therefore, this study is focused on analysis study. The purpose of this study is to find out the possibility future instruction through analyzing of lecturers‘ challenges in assessing students writing. Theparticipants werestudents and lectures. It was conducted at English Education Department of Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan syarifKasim Riau.This study investigated 1) general characteristic of students 2) specific entry competenciesof studentsin assessing students‘ writing and 3) students‘ need in writing assessment process.The result of this study presents the information as a guide to design a future Instruction/specific model to aid assessment process.

The Sequences of Expression of Minangkabau Young Generation: Request Study From ABS-SBK Philosophy 米南卡堡青年一代的表达序列:ABS-SBK哲学的要求研究

This research is a study of the language dynamics of Minangkabau young generation which is seen from the request speech sequence when interacting. The data in this study are taken from the students in several universities in Padang such as UniversitasAndalas, Universitas Bung Hatta and Politeknik Negri Padang and also from Padang Panjang and Batusangkar since these two regions are considered to retain Minangkabau cultural values in Language. The data are recorded from the respondents based on some criteria. Then the data are analyzed using the request strategy theory by Blum-Kulka and the request sequence by Ike Revita. The results of analysis show that there are several requests for speech sequences performed by young generation when they speak like 2 in 1, 3 in 1, 4 in 1 and multi in 1 sequence. While the factors that influence the choice of speech sequences are social factors, cultural factors and psychological factors. The values reflected in the speech sequence used are politeness, tolerance, assertiveness and honesty.

Cultural Values Legends Folktale of Minangkabau People’s in West Sumatra 文化价值传说西苏门答腊岛米南卡保人的民间故事

This research article contains a discussion about the cultural values legends folktale of Minangkabau people’s in West Sumatra. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The legend folktale of Minangkabau people's in West Sumatra was obtained from the narrative of informants. Categorical data is formulated through a search of the motive structure and role function of the Minangkabau legend's folklore in West Sumatra that has been collected. The study of legends folktale of Minangkabau people’s in West Sumatra uses the theory of cultural values or social functions of literary texts as used by Danandjaja (1984), Djamaris (1993 and 1994), Rusyana (2000). This is in line with that done by Proop (1928, 1967, 1987), Greimas (1979, 1990), and Barthes (2003). Based on the research findings, the cultural values legends folktale of the Minangkabau people’s in West Sumatra are as follows: (1) cultural values speech of wisdom as a function of confidence thickeners and develop community integrity; (2) cultural values speech of wisdom as an educational function and social control tool; (3) cultural values speech of wisdom as a function of social solidarity combines the forces of divided togetherness; (4) cultural values speech of wisdom as a function of group identity (collective); and (5) cultural values speech of wisdom as a function of communal harmonization

This article aims to reveal and analyse the biennial donations values contained in the phrase sarantak sadagam on Galombang Pitalah Nagari in baleh duo Subdistrict Batipo Tanah Datar Regency. This type of research was the analysis of the qualitative approach. This research had be done in Nagari Pitalah Sub Batipo Tanah Datar Regency. Informant research was a teacher and performer or doer galombang baleh duo in Nagari Pitalah. Expression of Sarantak Sadagam on the Galombang duo baleh can become guidelines for people in living a life. On the process of exercise as well as before the show, the phrase or Sarantak Sadagam pituah always called by the teacher berlandarkan custom basandi syarak syarak basandi book by providing guidance-guidance in the form of educational values beneficial to the player Galombang the duo baleh educational values with religious, moral, and social order for the players to have guidelines for living the life and artistic activity. Values education contains messages of moral, social, and religious.
