The evaluation of next-generation copper-wire technology 下一代铜线技术的评估

The FTTx+VDSL2 access network architecture is one of the best choices for the broadband access network, and migrating to the FTTH access network for carriers. However, it may be difficult to build the fiber into/in the house for some situation, such like the ful-filled line pipe and the decoration issues. The carriers have to introduce next-generation copper-wire technologies for higher rate to form a hybrid access network in the FTTH bottleneck areas. In this paper, we had studied the various technologies that could provide high speed access network and enlarge the coverage of the broadband service, including G.fast, Vplus and XG.fast. Furthermore, we also proposed the test technologies and results to verify the G.fast technology.

Network operation simulation platform for network virtualization environment 面向网络虚拟化环境的网络运行仿真平台

Network virtualization has been considered as an enabling technology for future network, through which multiple heterogeneous virtual networks can run on a shared infrastructure. In order to study and test the network management mechanism of future network, we develop and implement a network operation simulation platform of the network virtualization environment. The platform mainly simulates the double-layer network topology and the virtual network embedding in the network virtualization environment. In addition, the running status and the fault of networks can also be simulated. The validation results show that our platform can effectively emulate the network virtualization environment. It has three advantages: (i) Simulating Double-layer network model. (ii) Running virtual network embedding experiments graphically and supporting comparison among different embedding algorithms. (iii) Simulating the faults of both substrate and virtual networks and emulating the detection results based on the simulated faults.

Energy-efficient method of data transmission in the mobile network 移动网络中节能的数据传输方法

Internet usage is growing and high technology of network has been developed. The improvement of network requires a number of data to be transferred. A number of data transmission is required in wired and wireless network. Especially, energy consumption will be growing by transferring a number of data in wireless network. To solve the problem, this paper proposes TCP-based congestion algorithm to save in wireless network.

Hybrid caching and requests forwarding in information centric networking 信息中心网络中的混合缓存和请求转发

Content Centric Networking (CCN) is one of the most promising network architectures of future Internet. In CCN, Content Router (CR) floods request in the network to find the content. This flooding may degrade the network performance by generating too much traffic. Also, in legacy CCN architecture, each CR caches all contents that pass through it. Thus, same contents are replicated in all CRs along the request path, which incurs faster cache replacement and degrades cache utilization consequently. Furthermore, caching and forwarding decisions are made by the CR only on the basis of its local knowledge, which may not be optimum decisions. In this paper we propose a hybrid caching, cache replacement and requests forwarding approaches to overcome the above drawbacks. In our proposal, there is a virtual controller inside the data center with high performance computational capacity. The controller makes all the forwarding and caching decisions and passes it to the physical CRs via virtualized core router. Physical CRs are grouped inside regions on the basis of their geographical location, in order to enhance users' QoE. We have intensively simulated the proposed mechanism in a chunk level simulator and the performance is compared with existing schemes. The simulation results show that the proposed mechanism outperforms the existing state-of-the-art schemes.

Efficient payload signature structure for performance improvement of traffic identification 有效的负载签名结构,提高流量识别的性能

The traffic identification is a preliminary and essential step for stable network service provision and efficient network resource management. While a number of identification methods have been introduced in literature, the payload signature-based identification method shows the highest performance in terms of accuracy, completeness, and practicality. However, the payload signature-based method's processing speed is much slower than other identification method such as header-based and statistical methods. In this paper, we first classifies signatures by matching type based on range, order, and direction of packet in a flow when each signature matches to payload. By using this classification, we suggest a novel method to improve processing speed of payload signature-based identification by reducing searching space.

Probabilistic modeling for IPTV network diagnosis and troubleshooting IPTV网络诊断与故障排除的概率建模

In this paper, we propose two probabilistic modeling methods for IPTV network diagnosis, namely intolerable quality detection and device alarm analysis. The proposed methods can provide auxiliary information during troubleshooting processes, as well as inferring problematic devices automatically. Experimental results show that our models can distinguish problematic devices from normal ones and are more accurate than previous work under two evaluation criteria. Furthermore, we also demonstrate how we utilize these models in our actual network management system. It reveals that our methodologies are useful in finding out the service degradation proactively.

Power consumption modeling of base stations based on dynamic factors 基于动态因素的基站功耗建模

Power models are crucial to assess the power consumption of base stations (BSs) without quantitive description. Currently available models seldom consider the dynamic factors such as indoor and outdoor temperature. As power model will affect the energy-saving gains of different green resolutions, in this paper we provide such power models for mobile communication BSs relying on practical data collected from several BSs with focus on dynamic factors, e.g., traffic load, indoor and outdoor temperature. The quantitative power models for communication equipment and air conditioning are defined and validated combined with the mathematical method of linear regression. With application of the models we develop an energy saving method which can save at least 10% of the power consumption per year through the simulation and analysis. Still, the method does not affect the normal operation of communication BSs, which takes on strong economy and green significance.

Performance evaluation of time slot based QoS aware ad hoc network scheme for CBR and TCP flows 基于时隙的CBR和TCP流感知QoS自组网方案的性能评价

We propose a QoS supporting ad hoc network scheme which employs a hybrid approach utilizing both TDMA and 802.11 DCF and present performance evaluation results of the scheme. In the scheme, TDMA period provides contention free transmissions for QoS flows, and DCF period is used to provide contention-based access for best effort or low priority flows. We evaluate the proposed scheme for various numbers of TCP flows and different CBR data rates with QualNet simulator. Simulation results show that the protocol is able to provide an efficient solution for QoS control in ad hoc networks by combing TDMA and 802.11 DCF.

Lightweight service discovery protocols for constrained environment 约束环境下的轻量级服务发现协议

Internet of Things (IoT) is becoming increasingly important for today's market and gained a lot of attentions both in academia and industry. IoT can be applied into wide range of application scenarios. In case of constrained environment, for communication, resource-constrained devices are expected to employ the lightweight mechanisms. In order to provide intelligent facilities for constrained IoT devices, energy efficient service discovery mechanism must be designed. In this paper, we address technologies related with constrained environment and provide comprehensive overview of lightweight discovery protocols.

A preliminary study on SPC-crowd pavement indexing spc -人群路面标度初探

In most developed and developing countries, the maintenance of roadway pavement consumes considerable resources and represents a major item in government budget. However, due to the lack of sustainable and systematic approaches to implement long-term road pavement monitoring and assessment, the cost-effectiveness of performing such tasks is often a concern. In this paper, a crowdsourcing framework is proposed as a solution based on a smart probe car (SPC) system that utilizes mobile sensing technologies to collect environmental roadway data. Built upon the probe-vehicle system, the proposed method not only has the potential to save a significant amount of resources but also makes it possible to acquire real-time pavement information in a large scale.
