The new architecture of FC storage network based on controller 基于控制器的FC存储网络新架构

With the rapid development of Internet technology and the explosive growth of data, the storage system designed by tightly coupled hardware and software is limiting the development of storage technology severely, and unable to meet the fast changing needs in the mobile Internet and exploding big data era. Software Defined Storage (SDS) as a new storage system architecture is more suitable for the development of the next-generation data centers. This paper proposed a new Controller-based FC Storage Network (CSN) architecture using the idea of SDS technology. CSN decoupling control plane protocol of FC switch from data plane deployed control plane protocol and distributed functions in the controller. This paper described the design and implementation of this architecture and verifies the feasibility through the actual development environment. Finally, as a result of experiments, server can establish a connection with the storage more quickly in CSN, furthermore, CSN has a faster convergence, as well as more reliability and scalability.

Android malware detection using multivariate time-series technique 基于多变量时间序列技术的Android恶意软件检测

Recently, use of smart devices has continued to spread in parallel with their performance improvement. The proliferation of smart devices has led to an emergence of various services such as messengers, SNS and smart banking, and brought convenience in using the services. However, the threat called security vulnerabilities is being faced on the other side. The damages suffered from such a threat are personal information leakage, unreasonable charging, root permission acquisition and so on. In addition, it is said that Android, which is considered as the most vulnerable operating system among the smart devices' operating systems, has the greatest damage of malware codes. Accordingly, this paper proposes a technique to detect malicious codes based on Android devices by using the multivariate time-series analysis. A variety of resource information is integrated into a resource to organize data, and an autoregressive moving average model of the time-series models is used to carry out the modeling. The modeled data is matched with real data to detect malicious codes. The proposed method's validity and excellence is suggested through this experimental result.

A model of SDN controllers supporting for processing of flows based on the IMS 一种支持基于IMS的流处理的SDN控制器模型

The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is a kind of Multimedia business form and it is an architectural framework for delivering IP multimedia services. In order to increase flexibility and reliability, in this paper we propose a different perspective which maintains the existing IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) based signaling platform while processing flow via distributed SDN controllers. Software Define Network (SDN) requires some methods for the control plane to communicate with the data plane. One such mechanism is OpenFlow which is a standard interface for controlling computer networking switches. The OpenFlow protocol can manage resources by slicing them in a virtualized manner and that aspect of the OpenFlow protocol can be integrated in an IMS infrastructure. Under such infrastructure, the IMS is considered to correlate with the OpenFlow controller, and the OpenFlow controller will be able to dynamically reroute the traffic to alternate network resources, or a different `network slice' in cases of congestion or applying QoS in the IMS networks through the IMS policy network.

IPv4 and IPv6 performance comparison in IPv6 LTE network IPv6 LTE网络中IPv4与IPv6性能比较

Mobile network operators are deploying IPv6 to their mobile networks in recent years, to support ever increasing mobile and IoT devices. They also adopt IPv4-IPv6 transition techniques to provide connectivity from their IPv6 networks to IPv4 networks. Since IPv6 deployment to mobile network is still in an early stage, the performance assessment on IPv6 based mobile network is needed, regarding both IPv6 and IPv4. In this paper, we focus on assessing the performance of IPv6 based mobile networks. We first analyze the detailed TCP connection procedures in accordance with the different IP versions that the end hosts use. Based on the analysis result, we suggest improvement points to speed up the connection establishment. We also compare the performance difference between IPv6 and IPv4 by measuring the connection establishment time to 40 popular dual-stack websites. We witnessed that IPv4 can be connected faster than IPv6 in most cases because of the immaturity of the IPv6 infrastructure.

A testing-based approach to SLA evaluation on cloud environment 基于测试的云环境SLA评估方法

A service level agreement (SLA) is a negotiated agreement between consumers and service providers in order to guarantee the quality of the negotiated service level. Therefore, many companies used contract to specify the desired service level agreement. SLA may specify the levels of availability, serviceability, performance, operation, security, or other attributes of the service. However, due to the big human efforts to monitor the performance, how to evaluate the SLA in service delivery becomes an important issue. To evaluate SLA automatically, in this paper, we proposed a testing-based SLA evaluation approach based upon the quality model ISO/IEC 25010 that contains eight characteristics: functional, performance, compatibility, usability, reliability, security, maintainability and portability. Nowadays, cloud computing is emerged as a new technology to improve the computational complexity of enterprise information systems. By adopting features of cloud computing, we have implemented a prototype system which integrates open-source software, Jenkins, as controller and other third party softwares as testers to automate SLA evaluation processes according to the testing-based SLA evaluation approach. The experiments have been conducted to evaluate the performance of our approach and prototype system. The results indicate that our prototype system can provide quality and stable service.

Architectural perspective on collaborative multipath TCP in mobile environment 移动环境下协同多路径TCP的体系结构视角

Mobile traffic is growing tremendously as mobile internet is widespread. Users listen to music, watch video, send and receive photos, and take conversation over mobile messenger using mobile networks. Multipath TCP allows simultaneous use of multiple interfaces for a single TCP connection, which enables mobile device utilize 4G and Wi-Fi simultaneously. Many researches have proven in protocol stack that multipath TCP is effective for high throughput and long battery lifetime with acceptable handover delay. In this paper, we describe an overall architecture for collaborative multipath TCP in mobile environment. In addition to the protocol-layer information like RTT and congestion window, we suggest utilizing the status of mobile device and user preference to handle transient situation like walking or moving in a car. Our approach is not an amendment but a complementary to previous multipath TCP mechanism in the aspect of collaboration of protocol, device status, and user preference.

Is container-based technology a winner for high performance scientific applications? 基于容器的技术是高性能科学应用的赢家吗?

High Performance Computing (HPC) applications require systems with environments for maximum use of limited resources to facilitate efficient computations. However, these systems are faced with a large trade-off between efficient resource allocation and minimum execution times for the applications executed on them. Also, deploying applications in newer environments is exacting. To alleviate this challenge, container-based systems are recently being deployed to reduce the trade-off. In this paper, we investigate container-based technology as an efficient virtualization technology for running high performance scientific applications. We select Docker as the container-based technology for our test bed. We execute autodock3, a molecular modeling simulation software mostly used for Protein-ligand docking, in Docker containers and VMs created using OpenStack. We compare the execution times of the docking process in both Docker containers and in VMs.

However, these systems are faced with a large trade-off between efficient resource allocation and minimum execution times for the applications executed on them. Also, deploying applications in newer environments is exacting. To alleviate this challenge, container-based systems are recently being deployed to reduce the trade-off. In this paper, we investigate container-based technology as an efficient virtualization technology for running high performance scientific applications. We select Docker as the container-based technology for our test bed. We execute autodock3, a molecular modeling simulation software mostly used for Protein-ligand docking, in Docker containers and VMs created using OpenStack. Towards selecting optimal features for flow statistical based network traffic classification 探讨基于流量统计的网络流分类中最优特征的选择

The network traffic classification is one of the most fundamental work in the network measurement and management, and this problem is more and more impact as the network scale grows. Many methods are proposed by researchers, but methods based on flow statistics seem more popular than the others. In this paper, we proposed a novel method based on refined flow statistical features. The new statistics, skewness and kurtosis, and new flow statistical features, payload length, were introduced into raw feature set firstly. Then, with the consideration of efficiency in the classification stage, the feature selection was used on the raw feature set to get an optimal feature set and the feature selection are mainly based on the K-means clustering algorithm. The comparison experiment results show that the proposed optimal feature set reaches the same precision level with half time consuming and internal cluster distance when compared with the raw set.

Overlay L2 routing and overlay to underlay L3 routing in OpenStack involves usage of Host Machine's TCP/IP Stack, iptables rules and Linux Kernel. This paper introduces a networking module which minimizes load on Host TCP/IP Stack and is independent of iptables rules / Linux Kernel for networking. This paper implements Proof-of-Concept (POC) of a networking agent for OpenStack's Networking Module-Neutron via software-defined networking (SDN). This paper implements a method for overlay L2 networking, overlay to underlay L3 routing and virtualizes Neutron's routing instance using Open vSwitch (OVS) and OpenFlow protocol. This paper aims to explore the scope of implementing the networking functionalities and network virtualization using SDN technologies in OpenStack. This paper concludes by comparing networking performance in terms of collective TCP bandwidth measurement of the POC against the existing OpenStack setup.

SDN based optimal user association and resource allocation in heterogeneous cognitive networks 异构认知网络中基于SDN的最优用户关联与资源分配

The increase in the number of connected smart mobile devices has fueled the exponential growth in mobile data. The next-generation networks must meet the demand for higher capacity. Heterogeneous cognitive networks with multiple base station tiers are a promising approach to achieving the higher data rate target. The user association problem is a major issue in the heterogeneous cognitive networks because of the disparity in transmission powers of the base stations involved. Our objective is to achieve the optimal user association under interference constraints. We formulate the problem into an optimization problem and employ matching theory to propose an algorithm to obtain the optimal user association. The proposed matching algorithm for the optimal user association plays the role of SDN application. We then perform simulations and compare our proposed algorithm with existing ones. The simulations results depict that our proposed algorithm outperforms others.
