Negation is an essential concept in human languages. Traditional studies of negation were focused on the analysis of its structure and function. In recent years, the research on the processing of Chinese negative sentences had been in the ascendant. Based on the extant literature, this paper first generalized a series of related theories about negative processing, and then analyzed the four influencing factors of the processing of negation as follows: types of negative sentences, context, emotion and individual differences. Finally, it pointed out that more attention should be paid to expanding the research objects, conducting the second language studies of the negative sentence processing, and integrating new experimental methods in future research.

When President John F. Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act of 1963, pay discrimination on the basis of gender was made illegal in the US. However, nearly 70 years later, women today are still earning less money than their male counterparts, only 79 cents for every dollar a man makes, indicating the existence of a gender wage gap. This 21 cent difference in the earnings of women compared to their male counterparts not only negatively impacts the wealth accumulation of women, it also has a direct impact on the emotional wellbeing and mental health of women in that women are more likely to suffer from depression and anxiety as opposed to their male counterparts. One study that followed the careers of female and male MBAs found a $150,000 difference in earnings just 9 years after the students had graduated. Another study found that when a female’s income was less than their male counterpart’s, the odds of experiencing depression within the prior year of answering the survey was 1.96 times higher in women and they were 2.5 times more likely to experience anxiety compared to men. One theory that tries to explain an aspect of the gender wage gap is the “Motherhood Penalty” which implies that as women become mothers, they often work less hours and therefore earn less money. As a result, fathers will often step up and compensate for the missed hours and experience the “Fatherhood Premium”. However, research shows that the difference in hours mothers and fathers worked accounts for at most 15% of the Fatherhood Premium which therefore suggests that the discrimination of mothers and upholding of “old fashion notions about parenthood” are to blame for the “Fatherhood Premium” fathers experience. Overall, the systematic discrimination of women in the work field should be combated with legislation, specifically the Paycheck Fairness Act which would bolster women’s equal pay protections.

Aiming at the operation problem of pension market, this paper establishes multiple linear model, auto-regressive integral moving average model and other prediction models through data analysis of nursing service beds, multiple linear regression and grey correlation analysis, etc. programming software such as SPSS and MATLAB are used to make the prediction model of pension market, and the grey correlation degree is used to discuss the influence variables Through the research of population factor and economic factor, it is concluded that the most important factor affecting the number of nursing beds is per capita GDP.

By using the methods of literature, logical analysis and comparison, this paper classifies and summarizes the Tibetan horse mountain scenic spot in Qingdao, and points out the existing problems and realization paths in the process of developing the characteristic town of ice and snow sports in the Tibetan horse mountain scenic spot in Qingdao. There is no reasonable understanding of the existing problems, and the proposed measures and development countermeasures are not targeted enough. It needs to be further deepened and systematized.

The entire history of Western philosophy and aesthetics is a history of struggle between the body and the soul. For a long time, the traditional western philosophy represented by Plato and Augustine insisted on a ideological path of separating the body and mind and restraining the body and raising the mind. In contemporary academic discourse, the sudden emergence of "body" is directly related to the modern trend of thought, and in fact constitutes a reflection and correction of traditional ideological aesthetics. Thinkers such as Nietzsche, Merleau-Ponty, and Foucault initiated this thought process, while Richard Shusterman established its basic orientation from the perspective of discipline construction. In response to this, Chinese scholars have also made more obvious theoretical contributions. As a paradigm of Somaesthetic, it sharply criticizes Logocentrism, insists on cultural comparison, highlights the practical function of theory, and implements the life care of aesthetics, which provides a meaningful value scale for the construction of contemporary aesthetics.

Extensive research has researched on the attainment of education in a variety of life aspects. Yet the study on the correlation between education, tax payment and religiosity are extremely rare. This paper aims at analysing the effects of education and its benefit on respondents’ income and tax contributions and their religiosity preferences. It provides ideas based on the data of National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 1997 (NLSY97) and the Form 1040 Data provided by the Statistics of Internal Revenue Code (www.irs.gov/statistics/) to gain exploration on how education would contribute to personal income, how tax payments correlated with income, and how respondents’ religious activities influence income.

This paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the recovery, reconstruction and development of Sichuan sociology in the past 40 years. This paper makes a simple analysis of the development stages of Sichuan sociology, and holds that there are two major stages, namely, the restoration and reconstruction stage and the academic research stage. This paper makes an in-depth investigation of the characteristics and achievements of the academic practice of Sociology in Sichuan in the past 40 years, especially in the study of religious and ethnic issues. At the same time, we also realize that there are shortcomings in discipline construction, research team, research field, etc., and there is still a big gap with the eastern region and foreign sociology research. This requires Sichuan sociology to form a joint research force, maintain its advantageous research field, broaden its research horizon and actively build a high-level research team, so as to better promote the development of Sichuan sociology.

The live-action movie Mulan is Disney’s latest masterpiece in 2020. Previous scholars mainly studied “The Ballad of Mulan” and the animated film Mulan (1998) from the theme, narration, film art, feminist theories and other aspects. Based on Postcolonial theory and Orientalism, this paper takes the latest live-action movie Mulan (2020) as the research object and makes a comparative study of Mulan’s adapted image in the movie and the original Mulan image in “The Balled of Mulan”. Reconstruction of the ancient Oriental empire China and major characters around Mulan are further discussed. It is found that creators of the movie adopt Chinese elements and characters to convey American ideology and values and thus the implication of this study is evident: to arouse readers’ awareness of cultural invasion through media like movies and of the significance of rebuilding China’s international image in the new era.
