Modern scenario-based approaches to the construction of dialogue systems require extraction of domain-dependent synonyms and concepts. For example, making rules for rule-based dialogue systems is greatly facilitated by the ability to automatically generate synonyms for keywords. Automatic detection of domain concepts allows to make a list of slots that need to be filled to create service scenarios in goal-oriented dialogues. This paper describes the method of unsupervised synonym and concept extraction from natural language texts. Our method includes context-dependent algorithms (based on applying word embeddings) and does not require using tagged data and external resources.

The development of mountain areas is complicated by a number of natural hazards, which primarily include mudflows and snow avalanches. The article presents the results of the development of a combined mechatronic system based on a mobile platform and a drone for monitoring natural hazards in mountainous areas. The mobile platform delivers the drone to the area of a mudflow or avalanche area, where it is difficult and dangerous to approach. From the mobile platform, a drone equipped with a video camera is launched, which monitors a territory according to a given program. The mobile platform is equipped with a power source for automatic recharging of drone batteries.

The authors are developing a hardware and software complex that combines the operating layouts of various systems of the “Smart City”: transport, housing and public utilities, industry, agriculture. Sensors and actuators of the layout programmatically interact with each other and with the dispatcher's console via data exchange modules using various wired and wireless communication protocols. Social communication is carried out in two environments – real (interpersonal communication) and electronic (virtual communication). Both types of communication have become essential nowadays for specialists. Therefore, education should focus on mastering universal communicative competence. Online education is favorable for mastering both interpersonal and virtual communication skills of all the educational process participants. The article investigates a way to master communicative skills of two groups of education process participants. The first group incorporates learners, educators and parents who traditionally interact in the educational process. The second group involves interacting representatives of different cultures, and it becomes the feature of a teacher-student interaction in internationalization of tertiary education. The article gives theoretical background of the research studying different kinds of communication of education process participants in online learning environment, identifies the specific character of their communication and provides evidence that e-learning impacts the mastering of communicative skills for both groups of participants.

Blanking and cancellation are successfully used to block the powerful interferences in many applications, but in the area of UWB navigation it is difficult to retrieve efficiency of interference cancellation. This research is devoted to the evaluation of cancellation efficiency in conditions of pulse interferences environment in an underground mine with cargos, equipped with autonomous onboard speed sensors. Using the experimentally obtained interference environment model the matched filter receiver is modelled during computer simulation. The signal-to-noise ratio on the matched filter output is increased on 1.9 dB due to the interference cancellation, making the cancellation efficiently applicable in underground mine UWB navigation.

This study examines the experience of using the automated Systems for Quality Control and Management (FSC) certification in the Irkutsk region. The whole process of FSC implementation was adjusted to the companies operation in forestry and reflected its main requirements. The main groups of automated systems for forest management have been identified. The wide-range FSC certification can greatly help companies to establish a timber supply chain under service control management. Tools application for products, services and management quality control is considered.

The article shows that the ingrained orientation of engineering education to the demands of the labor market requires rethinking and adjustment, since in modern conditions it does not guarantee the ability of an engineer to meet the challenges of the future. A real guarantee of the success of engineering education is now taking into account, along with the order of the labor market, also historical and epistemological trends in the development of knowledge, its functions and forms of existence. In this context, techno-science and the principle of “oriented intellect” are of particular relevance in the training of an engineer. It is also emphasized that the current trends in the development of knowledge bring to life a new paradigm of education - projective-personal.
