AbstractIAIN Curup, as an Islamic higher education institution, demands the students to master al-Qur'an. One of the steps towards the mastery of the Qur’an is through the activities of tahsin (reciting) al-Qur'an implemented by Ma'had al-Jamiah (college dormitory) of IAIN Curup. Therefore, this study aimed to see the role of Ma'had al-Jamiah of IAIN Curup in overcoming the students' low mastery of al-Qur'an, by paying attention to the results of Ma'had al-Jamiah programs consisting of the practicum of tahsin al-Qur'an and students’ worship practicum. These activities already ran for three semesters. However, it was still found the students who could not read al-Qur'an well and could not perform the prayers properly. This study employed a qualitative approach. The data were obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation, which were then analyzed by using a qualitative approach. Thus, the following conclusion was drawn: First, the Ma'had Al-Jami'ah programs were quite representative in improving students’ mastery of al-Qur’an; Second, ma'had activities applied a semi-Islamic boarding school education model in a classical form; Third, Ma'had al-Jamiah’s policies concerning the subjects of Tahsin Al-Qur’an, Worship Practicum I, and Worship Practicum II as the requirements to take part in KPM (Community Service Program), PPL (pre-service teaching program), Internship, comprehensive exams, and Munaqasyah (thesis exams) really stimulated students to master reciting al-Qur'an.AbstrakIAIN Curup sebagai lembaga pendidikan tinggi Islam, dituntut agar mahasiswanya mengusai al- Qur’an. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini berusaha melihat peran ma’had al-Jamiah IAIN Curup dalam mengatasi rendahnya penguasaan al-Qur’an mahasiswa IAIN Curup, dengan memperhatikan hasil kegiatan Ma’had yang mencakup praktikum tahsin al-Qur’an dan praktikum ibadah kemahasiswaan. Kegiatan tersebut sudah berjalan selama tiga semester. Namun masih ditemukan mahasiswa belum bisa membaca al-Qur’an dengan baik dan belum bisa melaksanakan ibadah shalat dengan baik. Penelitian ini menggukanakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data diperoleh dari hari hasil wawancara, pengamatan dan dokumentasi, selanjutnya dianalisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif sehingga diperoleh simpulan: Pertama Program Ma’had Al-Jami’ah cukup representatif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa di bidang al-Qur’an; Kedua kegiatan ma’had menawarkan menerapkan model pendidikan semi pondok pesantren dalam bentuk klasikal; Ketiga Ma’had al- Jamiah IAIN Curup menjadikan ketiga materi (Tahsin al-Qur’an, Praktek Ibadah I dan II sebagai syarat untuk bisa mengikuti KPM, PPL, Magang, Komprehensif dan sidang Munaqasyah) sangat memacu mahasiswa dalam penguasaan bacaan al-Qur’an.

AbstractThis study was evaluating the Ministry of Religion Affairs’ policy intending to provide input for improving the program. The evaluation took the case in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Ma'arif in Ambal, Kebumen, Central Java. This MI uses the concept of inclusive education that sees every child entitled to educational services regardless of their physical differences and who they are. At the level of implementation, there is still a gap between a theory that tends to be ideal with practices that emphasize real needs. To meet the educational services of children with disabilities in their environment, MI Ma'arif Sidomulyo chose to go directly and practice. To overcome obstacles in the field, MI initiated the building of networks with local governments, schools, and madrassas that provide inclusive education. The network was also built with institutions and observers of inclusive education as an effort to strengthen inclusive education in MI Sidomulyo, because guidance from the Ministry of Religion is still very weak.AbstrakKajian ini mengevaluasi kebijakan Kementerian Agama yang hendak memberikan masukan untuk perbaikan program. Evaluasi mengambil kasus di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Ma'arif di Ambal, Kebumen, Jawa Tengah. MI ini menggunakan konsep pendidikan inklusif yang memandang setiap anak berhak atas layanan pendidikan tanpa memandang perbedaan fisik dan siapa mereka. Pada tataran implementasi, masih terdapat gap antara teori yang cenderung ideal dengan praktik yang menekankan pada kebutuhan nyata. Untuk memenuhi layanan pendidikan anak difabel di lingkungannya, MI Ma'arif Sidomulyo memilih terjun langsung dan praktek. Untuk mengatasi kendala di lapangan, MI memprakarsai pembangunan jejaring dengan pemerintah daerah, sekolah, dan madrasah penyelenggara pendidikan inklusif. Jejaring juga dibangun dengan lembaga dan pemerhati pendidikan inklusif sebagai upaya penguatan pendidikan inklusif di MI Sidomulyo, karena pembinaan dari Kementerian Agama masih sangat lemah.

AbstractThis research examines religious teachers’ quality of life after more than a decade of teacher reform in Indonesia. The research utilizes a survey that involves a total sample of 212 religion teachers. They represent more than one thousand religion teachers teaching at elementary and secondary schools in Manado City, North Sulawesi. While the data collection employs a simple random sampling, the analysis applies a non-parametric procedure so-called the independent Chi-square test. The results of the study show that teacher certification, the most outstanding feature of the education reform in Indonesia, has improved teachers' objective quality of life. Hence this certification, we assume, would have some association with their stress level, job satisfaction, and life satisfaction due to the increasing workloads and changing demands. Such association, however, does not exist. Instead, this study suggests that religious teachers responded to the reform in a neutralized manner, and at the same time, the government and schools failed to create a professional yet challenging environment for them during the reform processes.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kualitas hidup guru agama setelah lebih dari satu dekade proses reformasi guru di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei yang melibatkan sampel sebanyak 212 orang guru agama. Jumlah ini merepresentasikan sekitar seribu lebih guru agama yang ada di sekolah dasar dan menengah di Kota Manado, Sulawesi Utara. Sementara pengumpulan data menggunakan metode sampling acak sederhana, analisa data menempuh prosedur non parametrik, yakni tes Chi kuadrat independen. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa sertifikasi guru, elemen reformasi guru yang paling menonjol, telah meningkatkan kualitas hidup obyektif mereka. Kami berasumsi bahwa sertifikasi ini akan memiliki hubungan dengan tingkat stres, kepuasan kerja dan kepuasan hidup mereka karena adanya peningkatan dan perubahan beban dan tuntutan kerja. Namun demikian, hubungan seperti itu sama sekali tidak muncul. Studi ini, dengan demikian, berpandangan bahwa guru-guru agama telah merespon reformasi tersebut secara netral tanpa beban. Pada saat yang bersamaan, pemerintah dan sekolah gagal menciptakan lingkungan yang profesional sekaligus menantang bagi mereka selama proses reformasi berlangsung.

The considerations for this research are (1) growing interest in reading is the duty of parents, but what forms of parental involvement are not widely understood. In this process, 40 items from 82 items were selected, as a result of this study. The trial was carried out on the research subjects, namely parents who have children aged from early childhood to elementary school with a total of 521 respondents. While the reliability test of this questionnaire shows the Cronbach Alpha coefficient = 0.941, which means that in psychomoteric analysis this instrument has perfect internal consistency. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the instrument developed can measure the extent to which parents are involved in fostering children's reading interest.

Parenting patterns have an influence on learning outcomes. However, how much the influence and relationship level between the parenting of the parents with the student learning outcomes in Tolasty Swastyastu Middle School have not been studied. Therefore, the goals of the study is to determine the level of relationship between parenting parents with student learning outcomes and to determine the influence of parenting parents on student learning outcomes in Tolasty Swastyastu SMP. The study used a correlation method that connects the independent variable (X), parenting pattern, and dependent variable (Y), learning outcomes. The study collected 91 students from class VII A and B and class VIII A and B. Instrument of the study used a closed questionnaire consisting of 20 questions for parenting variables. An average value of even semester report was used for the student learning outcomes variable. Data was analysed with product moment correlation index. Result of the study obtained rxy = 0.825, indicating that the level of relationship between variables X (Parenting Parents) and Y (Student Learning Outcomes) is very strong. Moreover, the correlation was positively linier. Thus, it can be conluded that parenting patterns affect student learning outcomes (=68.1%).

Writing is one of the skills difficult for students to achieve and requires the right media in the process of transferring the knowledge. Learning in today's era demands learning media that supports and bridges the learning process so that it is easier conveying to students. The use of digital media based on to the students’ needs is one solution to problems related to students' writing skills. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of digital media for students' writing abilities. It conducted a literature review with two steps; database search and thematic analysis. The results of this study indicate that learning using digital media for students' writing ability is very effective in use. Furthermore, this study suggests the use of digital media to suit the specific writing skills.

AbstractThis study reveals two things, firstly the significance of religiosity and the secondly, the form of religiosity according to Bidikmisi STAIN Kudus students. This research was conducted on STAIN Kudus students who received Bidikmisi scholarships, using a sociology approach. Bidikmisi students are students who have specialties in two fields, namely academic potential and Spiritual potential. In Academic potential, they have to compete with thousands of students, be preferred from the middle to lower classes. This is supported by good and satisfying academic abilities through tests conducted by the Ministry of Religion through STAIN Kudus. Spiritual potential, bidikmisi students get the opportunity to "appreciate" the STAIN Kudus mosque through religious activities. This activity affects their religiosity because it has a religious nuance. These activities include barzanji, ngaji kitab, maulid diba'an, yasinan and tahlil, qira’ah, and memorization of juz ‘amma. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dua hal yang berkenaan tentang makna keberagamaan mahasiswa bidikmisi STAIN Kudus Tahun Anggaran 2014 dan bentuk keberagamaan tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah field research, yaitu penelitian yang dilakukan di lapangan atau medan terjadinya gejala-gejala dengan menggunakan dua pendekatan, yaitu pendekatan etik emik. Dalam pendekatan emik, mahasiswa memberikan makna sesuai apa yang dirasa, dilihat, dibayangkan dan difikirkan tentang keberagamaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberagamaan mahasiswa bidikmisi mempunyai makna yang berbeda sesuai dengan pengalaman dan lingkungan sosial budaya di lingkungan mereka. Mahasiswa bidikmisi merupakan mahasiswa yang mempunyai keistimewaan dalam dua bidang, yaitu bidang akademik dan bidang keagamaan. Potensi akademik bersaing dengan ribuan mahasiswa untuk mendapatkan predikat mahasiswa berprestasi. Mahasiswa tersebut merupakan mahasiswa yang secara ekonomi dari kalangan menengah ke bawah, sehingga mereka berjuang untuk mendapatkan predikat sebagai mahasiswa. Hal ini didukung oleh kemampuan akademik yang bagus dan memuaskan melalui tes yang diselenggarakan oleh Kemenag Pusat melalui STAIN Kudus. Potensi rohaniah, mahasiswa bidikmisi mendapatkan kesempatan untuk “memakmurkan” Masjid STAIN Kudus melalui kegiatan keagamaan. Memakmurkan masjid inilah yang mempengaruhi keberagamaan mahasiswa bidikmisi. Kegiatan ini yang mempengaruhi peningkatan keberagamaan mereka karena bernuansa agamis. AbstractThis paper is based on research results that describe the role and function of foundations in fostering madrasas. His findings indicate that the weakening of the role and function of foundations in fostering madrasas, especially in their control functions, results in the existence of madrasas that are unable to compete with educational institutions at the same level as their surroundings. The transfer of control functions by the foundation to a madrasah head indicates that the management process has not been fully developed as a collaborative process between the foundation, the head, and the madrasah committee. The government itself has only played a role at the level of administrative guidance for madrasah institutions and has not yet touched on the aspect of foundations as the owner of madrasah institutions. Therefore, steps are needed to increase the role of foundations in fostering madrasas through strengthening institutional management, strengthening human resources for teaching and education personnel as well as adequate infrastructure to drive the pace of madrasah institutional organization. Supported and strengthened by refreshing mutual agreement in carrying out the vision and mission of madrasah management to achieve shared goals. The knot point, among others, lies in the leadership of the foundation and the head of the madrasa which is strengthened by empowerment support by the government.AbstrakTulisan ini bersumber dari hasil penelitian yang menggambarkan peran dan fungsi yayasan dalam membina madrasah. Temuannya menunjukkan bahwa dengan melemahnya peran dan fungsi yayasan dalam membina madrasah, khususnya pada fungsi pengendalian, berakibat pada eksistensi madrasah yang tidak mampu berkompetisi dengan lembaga pendidikan setingkat di sekitarnya. Penyerahan fungsi pengendalian oleh yayasan pada seorang kepala madrasah, mengindikasikan bahwa proses manajemen belum sepenuhnya dibangun sebagai suatu proses kerjasama antara yayasan, kepala dan komite madrasah. Pihak pemerintah sendiri baru berperan pada tataran pembinaan administratif kelembagaan madrasah dan belum menyentuh pada aspek yayasan sebagai pemilik kelembagaan madrasah. Oleh karena itu diperlukan langkah peningkatan peran yayasan dalam membina madrasah melalui penguatan manajemen kelembagaan, penguatan SDM tenaga pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan serta sarana prasarana yang memadai untuk menggerakkan lajunya organisasi kelembagaan madrasah. Didukung dan diperkuat dengan penyegaran kembali kesepakatan bersama dalam mengemban visi misi pengelolaan madrasah untuk mencapai tujuan bersama yang dinginkan. Titik simpulnya antara lain ada pada kepemimpinan yayasan dan kepala madrasah yang diperkuat dengan dukungan pemberdayaan oleh pemerintah.

Penyerahan fungsi pengendalian oleh yayasan pada seorang kepala madrasah, mengindikasikan bahwa proses manajemen belum sepenuhnya dibangun sebagai suatu proses kerjasama antara yayasan, kepala dan komite madrasah. Pihak pemerintah sendiri baru berperan pada tataran pembinaan administratif kelembagaan madrasah dan belum menyentuh pada aspek yayasan sebagai pemilik kelembagaan madrasah. Oleh karena itu diperlukan langkah peningkatan peran yayasan dalam membina madrasah melalui penguatan manajemen kelembagaan, penguatan SDM tenaga pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan serta sarana prasarana yang memadai untuk menggerakkan lajunya organisasi kelembagaan madrasah. Didukung dan diperkuat dengan penyegaran kembali kesepakatan bersama dalam mengemban visi misi pengelolaan madrasah untuk mencapai tujuan bersama yang dinginkan.
