Synchronous Motor Sensorless Drives based on Rotating Signal Injection and Direct Ellipse Estimation 基于旋转信号注入和直接椭圆估计的同步电机无传感器驱动

The paper deals with a position sensorless control for synchronous motor drive with a reduced number of tunable parameters. The current response due to the high-frequency rotating signal injection describes an elliptical trajectory centered on the fundamental current vector and its major axis tilt is related to the rotor position. The proposed method fits the motor current response on the implicit ellipse equation by means of the least square (LS) algorithm. The proposed LS algorithm processes the measured currents, without the need to filter them as occurs in conventional injection methods. No motor parameters are required to tune the proposed position estimator. The method was validated throughout several experimental tests performed on a permanent magnet synchronous motor electric drive.

Optimal Control Implementation of Three Phase-Four Wire Active Power Filter on dSPACE 1103 DSP Board 三相四线有源电力滤波器在dSPACE 1103 DSP板上的最优控制实现

The aim of this paper is the implementation of the optimal control of four-wire, shunt active power filters, designed for industrial use. The experimental setup consists of the active power filter controlled by means of a dSPACE DS1103 prototyping board, tested in a real industrial environment. The latter is characterized by high load variation both regarding the harmonic content of the currents on the three phases as well as the phase load balance. This leads to a difficult imbalance current compensation for the three-wire active filters, difficulty which is overcome by the four-wire active filters. At the same time, high harmonic (and reactive) current imposes high compensating capacitor working voltage. The variable harmonic content of the load current, makes unpractical to maintain a high capacitor voltage, so the adaptive control reduces the switching power loss without affecting the compensation performance. The performance of the control algorithm was quantitatively proved by analyzing the data sampled by the prototyping board analog to digital converters in the Matlab Simulink environment. The compensation results were also qualitatively confirmed by a Metrix 7042 oscilloscope.

Near-Infrared Colorization using Neural Networks for In-Cabin Enhanced Video Conferencing 基于神经网络的机舱增强型视频会议近红外着色

Classical color pictures can not be captured in every scenario, due to the light condition limitations, especially when driving during the night. In those situations, cameras that capture the Near-Infrared spectrum of frequencies prevail. However, pictures from this domain have numerous differences to the ones in the visible spectrum. Therefore, processing Near-Infrared images is a task that requires extensive consideration. In this paper, a method for Near-Infrared image segmentation using artificial neural networks is proposed, together with a colorization algorithm and a novel pipeline for obtaining real-time realistic RGB images, with virtual background for in-cabin enhanced video conferencing.

A new asymmetric airgap single-phase motor PM topology for small power (below 100W) applications is introduced and investigated in this paper. Its main feature is the placement of the PMs in the rotor in a V-shape arrangement for flux concentration. The particularities of this new topology are investigated and a FEA based multi-objective optimal design methodology is built and used for optimizing the material cost, efficiency and starting torque. The optimal design results are validated via dynamic simulation.

Vision Dynamics: Environment Modelling, Path Planning and Control Based on Semantic Segmentation 视觉动力学:基于语义分割的环境建模、路径规划与控制

Autonomous driving has been a hot topic in robotics for several years. Two main approaches have been proposed in the scope of solving the autonomous driving challenge: model-based methods relying on trajectory tracking and control and model-free learning based methods, usually directly mapping input signals to control actions. In this paper, we propose a vision-dynamics approach as an enhancement of the classical model-based perception-planning-control architecture, based on a semantic segmentation learning algorithm. We use the output of the learning algorithm in the planning module of our setup as to generate better local trajectories for our controller to track. We deploy our algorithm in a real-world setup, using a Pioneer 3-DX robot that navigates the innards of a park.

Auxiliary Power Supply for a Semiconductor-based Marx Generator 一种基于半导体的马克思发电机辅助电源

An auxiliary power supply for stages of a semiconductor-based Marx generator has been designed and tested. The auxiliary power supply converts the Marx generator's stage voltage ranging from 50 V to 1000 V to stabilized voltages of 7 V and 18 V at a total output power of up to 1.5 W. It comprises a transformer for insulation between input and both outputs and features a flyback converter design. The on-time of the MOSFET switch has been designed to vary between approximately 1 µs and 20 µs depending on the generator's stage voltage. The power supply has been tested successfully in an 8-stage Marx generator.

Automated recognition of facial expressions and gender in humans implemented on mobile devices 在移动设备上实现对人类面部表情和性别的自动识别

This paper presents the implementation on mobile devices of an automated system which can recognize 7 basic facial expressions each of them associated to an emotion: happy, sad, angry, disgust, surprise, fear, and neutrality alongside a person’s gender from a facial image using convolutional neural networks and transfer learning. The human faces are extracted from images generated by the camera of the device which runs the application in real time. The server side of the system was built in two versions: desktop which has good performances regarding recognition and processing speed and web which can run on any device which provides a browser and a camera.

Based on finite element models, this paper investigates different cold crucible configurations for efficient induction heating of molten glass charges with volumes in a large range by using a unique inductor and electric supply.The performances of cold crucible induction furnaces with a new one-segment annular cold crucibles for molten glass charges with diameter independent on the charge volume or for charges that conserves the ratio charge diameter / height are compared with those of the usual furnace with multi-segment round tubes cold crucible.

The paper presents a solution for a super capacitor minibus (7 tons, loaded) propulsion system. The preliminary design is verified by key FEM validation. Critical operating points as short-circuit and overload up to 2p.u. are also investigated for PM demagnetization avoidance. In addition, field-oriented control (FOC) dynamics simulation results for a given speed-time actual urban travel between two subsequent stations, are also presented.

In recent years, the research area of saliency analysis and Salient Object Detection (SOD) has been intensively investigated by the computer vision community. This paper explores the main directions of research in SOD by categorizing the important published works with regard to the proposed saliency extraction mechanism. Another aim of this paper is to provide details regarding specific application areas. An investigation into a highly active and prioritized medical problem, namely melanoma segmentation in skin cancer images using saliency is also analyzed. To advance the research scope of this paper, existing databases, benchmarks and metrics used in the performance evaluation are presented and discussed.
