Purpose – This study aims at identifying the importance of religious moderation through understanding and practicing the values of Islām wasaṭiyyah in the learning process in Indonesian madrasah. Design/methods/approach – Using a historical approach, this qualitative study investigates the practices of the values of Islām wasaṭiyyah by medieval Muslim figures and explores indicators of success in learning based on those values in madrasah. Data were collected through document analysis. Findings – The authors found that of the seven values selected—tolerance, egalitarian, dynamic and innovative, reform, taking the path middle, balance, and prioritizing the priority—the figures practiced them simultaneously. The indicators of success in learning are students, teachers, and parents have an awareness of the importance of the values of wasaṭiyyah; students become the center of pedagogy reflecting those values; students and teachers act independently in implementing those values; students and teachers are involved in collaboration in developing those values; and there is transformation to the better one due to the inculcation of those values. Research implications/limitations – Because the study applies a historical approach, it uses only documents as its data source. Future studies can use interviews and observations so that the results are more trustworthy. Originality/value – The findings of the study provide an overview of the extent to which the values of Islām wasaṭiyyah have been practiced in Islamic schools in Indonesia.

Purpose–The objective of the present investigation was to scrutinize and elucidate the Quality of Boarding schools to foster the production of high-quality graduates. The study was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Insan Cendekia Serpong and Dwiwarna Parung Senior High School. Design/methods/approach–This study utilized qualitative methodology, which involved various data collection techniques such as field observations, interviews with key informants within the school setting, document analysis, library research, and examination of prior research findings. The collected data were analyzed using various techniques including data reduction, presentation, and verification. Findings–The study findings indicate that Madrasa Aliyah Negeri Insan Cendekia Boarding School Serpong and Dwiwarna Senior High School Boarding School Parung surpassed national quality assurance benchmarks. Graduation chart data from 2012 to 2017 exhibited a positive trend in progress. Madrasa Aliyah Negeri Scholars had a 94% acceptance rate into state universities, 147 students accepted into prestigious public universities in Indonesia, four accepted into private colleges, and five being accepted into overseas institutions. Similarly, Dwiwarna high school had a 50% acceptance rate into public universities, with 39 students accepted into public universities, 42 accepted into private universities, and six accepted into foreign universities. Research implications/limitations–The study highlights the importance of quality assurance management in improving the performance of boarding schools. Future research can investigate the impact of specific quality assurance management practices on the academic outcomes of boarding schools. Originality/value–This Study provides unique insights into the impact of quality assurance management on a specific academic outcome, which can inform future research in the field of education.

Purpose – This study aims to determine Pancasila's values, which are integrated into student books for class X Islamic Cultural History. Design/methods/approaches – To collect data, this library research uses documentation. The data is collected from relevant sources such as student books, journals, news, and related laws and regulations. Data analysis was performed using the content analysis method. Findings – The results of this study indicate that the Islamic Cultural History student book at Madrasah Aliyah Class X contains Pancasila values that can be integrated with the material. It shows that 1) there are 17 Pancasila values contained in the Islamic Cultural History MA student book for class X, namely in the first precepts points 1, 2, and 7; the second precept of the 9th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th, and 15th points; the third precept point 18 and 19; the fourth point of the 27th precept; fifth precept on points 37,40, 41, 42, and 45. 2) Integrating the values of Pancasila with the material in the Islamic Cultural History MA Class X student book is expected to be able to increase the spirit of nationalism and be able to prevent the spread of anti-Pancasila ideology, which is currently rife in Indonesia, especially among Muslim students because Pancasila is the foundation for Islamic Religious Education in Indonesia, especially the History of Islamic Culture to maintain national unity and integrity. Research limitations – This research has limitations in scope, it can only cover available sources, so it may not include all relevant literature. Originality /value – Teachers can use the findings from the research in teaching Islamic cultural history subjects that integrate with Pancasila values.

Purpose – This study aims to construct an instrument for assessing the spiritual attitudes of moral subjects and how much the contribution of these spiritual attitudes can be applied in everyday life. Design/methods/approach – The research approach used by RnD (Research and Development) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model. The subjects of this study were students of class XI. Data collection techniques use the Likert scale. Findings – The instrument was analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA); in the assessment of spiritual attitudes, there were four factors/dimensions, but the per-factor instrument variables did not correspond to the initial dimensions (obedience, thanksgiving, praying, and tasamuh) with the average value of the loading factor of each factor namely F1 = 0.650, F2 = 0.615, F3 = 0.578 and F4 = 0.774. In contrast, the instrument reliability test obtained a value of 0.705 with a high instrument category. The analysis results produce the findings by making new factors, namely tasamuh, gratitude, worship, and aqidah. Research implications/limitation – This spiritual attitude assessment can be used in all Madrasah Aliyah in Indonesia. However, due to the limitations of researchers in distributing questionnaires, this research was only conducted in Sintang Regency. Originality/value – Further research is expected to construct an assessment of the spiritual attitudes of students in terms of more specific aspects of learning and daily life.

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang gambaran manajemen sekaligus faktor pendukung dan penghambat pengembangan keprofesian berkelanjutan (PKB) di MTs Al-Anwar Kotawaringin Barat. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, paparan data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan PKB meliputi evaluasi untuk mengetahui kemampuan guru, implementasi PKB dengan menindaklanjuti hasil dari evaluasi kemudian diikutsertakan dalam program diklat, workshop, dan melanjutkan studi.Evaluasi PKB dengan menilai dari hasil pelatihan oleh kepala sekolah dan pengawas. Adapun 3 komponen / unsur PKB pengembangan diri dengan mengikuti diklat dan workshop, publikasi ilmiah, karya inovatif dengan pembuatan bahan ajar, silabus dan RPP. Adapun faktor pendukung dan penghambat yakni fasilatas sekolah yang kurang menunjang, faktor penghambat lain yakni guru tidak sadar kompetensi apa yang kurang dari dirinya, dan beberapa guru yang belum fasih dalam penggunaan informasi teknologi dan komputer.

Tujuan dari penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk memaparkan hasil analisis berupa kajian literatur pada hasil penelitian mengenai pengaruh keteladanan guru Pendidikan Agama Islam terhadap akhlak siswa. Literatur review dilakukan pada 10 artikel yang dipublikasikan pada berbagai jurnal dari tahun 2014 sampai 2022. Proses melakukan kajian pustaka melibatkan empat langkah: mencari dan memilih artikel yang relevan, menilai dan mensintesis materi, dan merencanakan penulisan. Hasil analisis dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1) Pengaruh keteladanan guru Pendidikan Agama Islam sangat berpengaruh terhadap akhlak siswa. 2) Guru bukan hanya memberikan materi saja kepada peserta didik, akan tetapi juga memberikan keteladanan kepada peserta didik sebagai pembiasaan yang menciptakan suasana religius dan pembentukan akhlakul karimah sesuain dengan ajaran islam.

Purpose – Literasi Islam Santun’s or LISAN’s program stresses the necessity for religious moderation education around State Universities. Millennials are the main target of this program. It is clearly seen that intolerant values on social media considerably affect their personal and social identity so it further requires an understanding of how to establish identity reconstruction in millennials who become the ambassadors of LISAN. The purpose of this research is to find out how self-and social identity reconstruction in students who become LISAN Ambassadors. Design/methods/approach – The research is qualitative research with an interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) approach. The data source of this study is millennials who participated in the ambassadors of LISAN. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews and collection of essay writings by research subjects. Findings – The results of this study showed that according to the analysis of two main superordinates and the five subordinate themes presented by seven informants, it can be concluded that the reconstruction of the informants’ identity as the ambassador of LISAN involves important aspects in the process of individual development, namely cognitive, emotional and behavioral. Thus, this gives rise to a new identity that makes them become individuals as the LISAN’s ambassadors who have new behaviors that are more moderate and tolerant. Research limitation – The study has limitations as it covers only a small number of respondents in one locus. Future research is suggested to investigate a wide range of respondents. Originality/value – The research contributes to motivating academics for promoting moderation in practicing faith and religion in the milieu of State University.

It is clearly seen that intolerant values on social media considerably affect their personal and social identity so it further requires an understanding of how to establish identity reconstruction in millennials who become the ambassadors of LISAN. The purpose of this research is to find out how self-and social identity reconstruction in students who become LISAN Ambassadors. \u0000Design/methods/approach – The research is qualitative research with an interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) approach. The data source of this study is millennials who participated in the ambassadors of LISAN. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews and collection of essay writings by research subjects. \u0000Findings – The results of this study showed that according to the analysis of two main superordinates and the five subordinate themes presented by seven informants, it can be concluded that the reconstruction of the informants’ identity as the ambassador of LISAN involves important aspects in the process of individual development, namely cognitive, emotional and behavioral. Thus, this gives rise to a new identity that makes them become individuals as the LISAN’s ambassadors who have new behaviors that are more moderate and tolerant. \u0000Research limitation – The study has limitations as it covers only a small number of respondents in one locus. Purpose – The right assessment strategy can reduce the number of academic dishonesties during online learning in the pandemic era. Academic dishonesty is a problem considered normal but has a detrimental impact on the development of a nation. Therefore, instructors need to know the principles of assessment that can reduce the number of academic dishonesties in universities. Design/methods/approach – This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study technique. This literature comes from several online assessment books, articles, handbooks, and others. The procedure used in this study involves selecting a topic, developing themes, selecting problems, searching for literature in the database, and selecting and evaluating literature based on these problems. Findings – The results of this study are in the form of online learning assessment principles that can be applied in designing assessment activities. First, design a student-centered assessment that includes self-reflection. Second, design and include grading rubrics for assessing contributions to the discussion and assignments, projects, and the collaboration itself. Third, include collaborative assessment. Fourth, encourage students to develop skills in providing feedback. Fifth, use assessment techniques appropriate to the context and learning objectives. Sixth, design an assessment that is clear, easy to understand, and guaranteed success in the online environment. Seventh, ask students for input on how the assessment is carried out. Research implications – This study contributes to the development of literature regarding the online learning assessment process, especially in universities. Originality/value – Future research should be able to test these online learning assessment principles to find empirical evidence of their effectiveness.

Purpose – This article discusses the idea of Islamic Religious Education based on religious intersubjectivity. Design/methods/approach – This paper presents the idea of Islamic Religious Education based on religious intersubjectivity with a philosophical perspective or approach and religious phenomenology. The philosophical approach is to delineate and discuss three varieties of new paradigm for religion, namely subjective, objective, and intersubjective belief. Meanwhile, the religious phenomenology approach is used to develop an "intersubjective" religious area. Intersubjective diversity is an area of human religiosity that marries and engages in intense and sincere deep dialogue between the links of subjective and objective self-awareness of human which are in opposition to each other. Findings – The formulation of this IRE model – based on the intersubjectivity of religion – must consider the following points: 1) Intelligent sorting of common patterns and unique patterns in history of religions and religious thoughts; (2) Epoche, which refers to the ability of a person or group to sincerely and purely set-aside the statements that are undermining, devaluing, demeaning, infidelizing, apostatizing, or hurtful to other groups in any form; (3) Eidetic vision, which is the search for the basic construction, core, substance or the deepest essence of human religiosity; (4) the historicity of religion; (5) Verstehen, which constitutes an effort to understand the essence of other religions earnestly and genuinely; (6) Compassion and harmony; (7) Inclusive-partnership and dialogical approach; and (8) Enlightening new religious thoughts, mentalities, and attitudes (al-aql al-Jadid al-istitla'). Originality/value – Seeing the important meaning of religious intersubjectivity, this religious model is very appropriate if applied in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning.

Purpose – This study intends to examine whether there is a difference in the level of religiosity between students with “niqab” and students without “niqab”. The discourse on wearing the “niqab”l is still a crucial problem in several educational institutions in Indonesia, including Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD). Design/methods/approach – This is quantitative research at the Ahmad Dahlan University Islamic Education Study Program with a random sampling technique. The data collection tool used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale of scale 4. The instrument was tested with validity, reliability, normality, and homogeneity tests. The data were then analyzed by using the T-test to test the hypothesis. Findings – The results showed that the level of religiosity of female students with “niqab” at Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) UAD was in the high category. This was evidenced by 33 respondents of students with “niqab” at PAI UAD. 23 subjects (69.6%) showed a high religiosity and ten subjects (30.3%) were in the medium category. The religiosity of students without “niqab” at PAI UAD was also in the high category, as shown by 33 respondents who are without “niqab” at PAI UAD. There were 26 subjects (78.7%) showing a high level of religiosity, and seven subjects (21.2%)were in the medium category. Research implications/limitations – The analysis results showed that there was no difference in the level of religiosity between students with “niqab’ and students without “niqab” at PAI UAD, as evidenced by the t count = 0.452 (sig < 0.05) then Ha was accepted, and Ho was rejected. Originality/value – There is no difference in the level of religiosity between students with “niqab” and students without “niqab” in PAI UAD. “Niqab” is not part of Islamic shari'a so it cannot always be associated with one's religious experience. The nature of religiosity cannot be established simply by wearing the “niqab” without looking at other religious dimensions.
