Problematic Internet use characterized by loss of control. Over time spent on the internet obsessive, craving for various types of Internet activities, which often becomes a catalyst for the formation of a wide range of psychosocial and psychosomatic problems. Among them anxiety disorders occupy a special place. Anxiety affects all areas of a teenager's life, noticeably worsening his well-being relationships in family and society and reducing school performance. Purpose. To assess the relationship between the levels of situational and personal anxiety with problematic Internet use in high school students. Materials and methods. 165 students of both sexes of the senior classes of secondary school No. 84 in Krasnoyarsk took part in the study. The assessment of the level of Internet addiction was carried out using the "Chen Internet Addiction Scale" adapted by V.L. Malygin and K.A. Feklisov. The severity of personal and situational anxiety was carried out using the scale "State-Trait Anxiety Inventory" by C.D. Spielberger modified, by Y.L. Khanin. Results. The frequency of problematic Internet use in the general group was 10,3%. High levels of situational and personal anxiety were observed in 2,4% and 49,7% of the surveyed. At the same time girls with high levels of situational and personal anxiety were more common compared to boys. In most cases among high school students with an increase in the severity of the pattern of Internet addictive behavior, the number of people with low levels of both situational and personal anxiety decreased, while the number of respondents with a high level increased. Conclusion. The interrelationships of problematic Internet use with indicators of situational and personal anxiety among high school students are revealed.

Objective. The article is devoted to the peculiarities of traumatization of persons affected by domestic violence. The subject is the nature of the relationship between perceived social support (PSS) and symptoms of complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) for the development of methods of helping victims of domestic violence. Long-term traumatic impact on the injured person from a significant loved one, in the absence of adequate and sufficient social support, can manifest itself in re-experiencing, hypervigilance, emotional dysregulation, the formation of a negative self-image, and disturbances in close relationships. Methodology. The study was carried out using the International Trauma Questionnaire (ITQ) and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). 99 people aged 18 to 61 years old with experience of domestic violence were interviewed. The methods used were descriptive analysis, checking the normality of variables using the Kolmagorov-Smirnov test, and C. Spearman’s correlation analysis. Results. Individuals with more severe CPTSD symptoms were found to demonstrate lower levels of PSS. Therefore, to minimize the symptoms of CPTSD, it is advisable to develop skills related to social interaction and building close relationships. Practical implications. The results are applicable in the process of providing crisis and rehabilitation psychological assistance to victims of domestic violence.

The article is devoted to the actual problem of personality trust of students in the conditions of network activity. The study of students’ personality trust in communicative network activity is of scientific significance due to the widespread inclusion of the Internet in life. Personality trust in the virtual world regulates human behavior. The aim of the study is to identify the features of students’ personality trust in communicative network activity. Methodology and methods of research. The article used research methods: theoretical, empirical, methods of mathematical processing of psychological data: Friedman’s Xr2–criterion, Mann-Whitney U-criterion, Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. Computer data processing was carried out using the software packages “Excel” and “IBM SPSS Statistics 21”. A set of the following methods was used: “Methodology for studying the trust/distrust of a person to the world, other people, and oneself” (A. B. Kupreichenko) (the authors introduced an additional construct “virtual world”); “Questionnaire for problematic use of social networks” (N.A. Sirota, D.V. Moskovchenko, V.M. Yaltonsky, A.V. Yaltonskaya); “Methodology for assessing involvement in the use of information and communication technologies” (A.N. Tatarko, E.V. Maklasova, Z.H. Lepshokova, V.N. Galyapina, M.V. Efremova, D.I. Dubrov, M.A. Bultseva, E. .V Bushina, A.A Mironova). The empirical base of the study consisted of 200 respondents: boys – 100 people, girls – 100 people. Average age 20,6 years. Results and scientific novelty. For the first time, the personality trust of students in communicative network activity is considered. As a result of the empirical study, conclusions were drawn that self-confidence prevails among students in the virtual world. A comparative analysis based on gender showed that girls trust other people online more than boys. Differences were found on the scales “Trust in other people”, “Compulsive use”, “Cognitive absorption”, “Committing economic actions”, “Smartphone use”. The analysis revealed significant relationships between the components of personality trust and communicative network activity. A high level of self-confidence reduces anxious mental return to virtuality, growing trust in other people contributes to a feeling of comfort and security in communication, and with demonstrated trust in the virtual world, the desire to regularly stay in it increases. Practical significance. The results obtained during the study of the characteristics of students’ personality trust in communicative network activity can be used to organize a digital educational environment and make practical recommendations for conducting training work in order to develop digital competence skills.

Purpose. Currently, the scenario line of research in personality psychology seems to be particularly promising, since this line of research allows us to identify the specific features of the transformation of the conscious construction of human life paths under changing conditions of uncertainty. The aim of the study is to determine the gender specificity of life scenarios in individuals with different levels of tolerance to uncertainty. Materials and Methods. The sampling consisted of 200 people with different levels of tolerance towards uncertainty. The methods of the study included the semantic differential Lifestyle by V.P. Serkin and the New Questionnaire of Tolerance Towards Uncertainty by T.V. Kornilova. The data obtained were processed by means of factor analysis with the help of the program IBM SPSS Statistics 23. Results. The results showed that the life scenarios of people with different levels of tolerance to uncertainty are gender-specific: men with a high tolerance to uncertainty show predominant characteristics of the scenario associated with an active life position and the search for novelty, whereas women show a scenario aimed at activity in the social sphere (the desire to actively participate in the fate of others, to help and support). Men with a low tolerance towards uncertainty show such scenario patterns as striving for security, stability and predictability of events, while women – in addition to striving for a convenient, comfortable life – show tactical patterns: emotional restraint and calculation. Field of results application. The results of the study can be used in socio-psychological training and counselling to identify and correct an individual’s life scenario.

Introduction. The use of various types and forms of communication in communication activities is of certain research interest and can be learned through appropriate procedures. Unlocking the potential of contextual communication for professional and personal communication is the subject of this article. Materials and methods. To carry out this research as an effective epistemological practice, a systemic and axiological approach was applied, as well as a set of modern methods for processing scientific information from various fields of social and humanitarian knowledge. These are various variations of the use of the analytical-synthetic method, making analogies and comparisons, mental movement in deductive and inductive ways, generalization of scientific data and theoretical abstraction. Research results. The work consistently reveals the goals, objectives, structure, essence and concept of contextual communication based on the need for its implementation in professional activities and other forms of human interaction. It is noted that the main characteristic of contextual communication is its indirectness from direct communication, when the role of “subject-object of an example” is a real-life person, his actions (deeds) or examples of erroneous decisions. Through the mediation of contextual communication, it is possible to effectively transmit goal settings, value formations or epistemological constructs. Discussions and conclusions. The construction of work communication processes and the increasing shortage of time resources for personal communication in modern reality actualizes the problems of using increasingly effective and quickly applied communication tools. Such a tool today also includes contextual communication, which is used purposefully or spontaneously both in business interaction between people and in personal subject-subject communication. Knowledge of contextual communication has great cognitive prospects, the achievement of which was carried out in this work.

The purpose of the study. To study the influence of various metabolic syndrome clusters on the severity of depressive disorders according to the CES-D scale. Materials and methods. 136 male patients were examined, including 60 with metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome was diagnosed based on the criteria of clinical recommendations of the All-Russian Scientific Society of Cardiology in 2009. The severity of depression was assessed using the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale - CES-D. Results. It was found that among the surveyed men with metabolic syndrome, depressive disorders of varying severity on the CES-D scale were found in 40% of the surveyed, while among men with MS, the number of people with severe depression on the CES-D scale was higher. Among persons with a four-component metabolic syndrome cluster, patients with severe depression were more common (57,1%). In men with depression on the CES-D scale of varying severity, a three-component cluster of metabolic syndromes was more common, consisting of abdominal obesity, arterial hypertension, and an elevated level of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. To study the influence of various metabolic syndrome clusters on the severity of depressive disorders according to the CES-D scale. Materials and methods. 136 male patients were examined, including 60 with metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome was diagnosed based on the criteria of clinical recommendations of the All-Russian Scientific Society of Cardiology in 2009. The severity of depression was assessed using the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale - CES-D. Results. It was found that among the surveyed men with metabolic syndrome, depressive disorders of varying severity on the CES-D scale were found in 40% of the surveyed, while among men with MS, the number of people with severe depression on the CES-D scale was higher. Among persons with a four-component metabolic syndrome cluster, patients with severe depression were more common (57,1%). In men with depression on the CES-D scale of varying severity, a three-component cluster of metabolic syndromes was more common, consisting of abdominal obesity, arterial hypertension, and an elevated level of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Conclusion. The combination of abdominal obesity, arterial hypertension, and lipid disorders characterized by high levels of low-density lipoprotein was the most common metabolic syndrome cluster among men with depressive disorders of varying severity on the CES-D scale.","PeriodicalId":33016,"journal":{"name":"Russian Journal of Education and Psychology","volume":"28 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139308131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With development of the Internet the world has become bigger and now people who are living in different parts of the world have the means to communicate with each other in their pockets, there are all sorts of social media websites with all kinds of bloggers, streamers and the like who amass multicultural audience; big companies and small businesses develop connections more rapidly; individuals in general have more opinions and points of view to consider, and because of that the ability to think critically is now more important than ever before in human history. That is why modern higher education institutions tend to teach their students critical reading which helps them develop many adjacent skills such as researching information, communicating with, understanding and tolerating people of different background. This means that future critically thinking professionals need to be able to consider problems from different angles and find solutions to them suitable for everyone. Moreover, a critically thinking person should have an ability to understand the meaning of the text and its subtext implied by the author, to take different viewpoints into consideration, analyze them wisely and disregard the negative background of communication. Purpose. The paper aims at considering the ways of developing critical reading skills through reading foreign periodicals. The authors offer a set of teaching techniques for critical reading skill formation. The key point here is that the work with the text presupposes several successive steps. Results. The consequence of using these teaching techniques will be the students’ ability to formulate goals and objectives, to set hypotheses, to assess their own and others’ judgments and put forward a compromise solution. In the future, reading any publication, they will be able to assess the opinion of the author, to see the degree of the author’s influence on the reader’s views, but, simultaneously, adequately receive the information transferred by the text itself. Practical implication. Therefore, the skill of critical reading opens up new opportunities for effective participation in foreign language communication, thanks to which mutual understanding between different nationalities becomes a reality.
