Relevance. The purpose of mastering the subject “Professional English” for graduate students is ability to analyze, edit, create and translate professionally-oriented texts on their own, and to present the results of their scientific and professional activities. At the same time, there are usually no forms of such activities under the guidance of a teacher in the bachelor’s curriculum. Therefore, it is relevant to develop some methods and techniques of forming an informational basis for the self-dependent implementation of such activities. Purpose. The aim of our work was to develop and test the external informational basis of graduate students’ educational activities in the form of a handbook and, with the help of various types of professionally oriented reading, to transform it into an internal informational basis that will allow them to write an abstract of a scientific article and to make a presentation on the topic of their research on their own, as well as to make a report. Methods and hypotheses. The handbook was written within the framework of the project method. We assumed that the work on the handbook would increase the level of self-organization of educational activities and the quality of project activities of graduate students. Results. As expected, the experiment proved our assumption: in the experimental group the percentage of timely completed educational tasks was higher, that indicates better self-organization of students. The grades for foreign-language presentations on the research topic, which are the main product of the project activities of graduate students, were also higher. Practical implications. The results obtained prove the effectiveness of the handbook, and contribute to the practice of teaching foreign languages at the graduate students.

Purpose. The article is concerned with socionics, which is a typological approach-based framework that serves for modelling of the human capacity to perceive, process and produce information. The article studies the current state of socionics and the areas for further development. One of the primary focus areas of socionics is the experimental studies aiming to prove the construct validity of socionics. For this purpose, the correlation between socionic dichotomies and different psychologic models, such as a model of temperament, is studied. There are three hypotheses on a correlation between socionic personality types and temperament types. Methodology. To conduct the research we used methods of socionic type identification, the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire adapted by Shmelev A.G., the “Type of Behavioral Activity” questionnaire by Wasserman L.I., and Gumenyuk N.V., and calculated the point-biserial correlation coefficient. Results. The correlation analysis revealed a positive correlation between the Extraversion scale of the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire and the poles of Extraversion, Ethics and Declaring. A positive correlation is revealed between the Neuroticism scale of the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire and the Dynamic socionic pole, as well as between the Type of Behavioral Activity scale and the Extraversion pole. The findings confirm the hypothesis suggested by Gulenko W.W., according to which the socionic types correlate with the temperament types. They also confirm the hypotheses by Filatova E.S., and Stepanov R.A. / Lytov D.A., according to which Extraversion sensu Eysenck correlate to Extraversion, the socionic pole, and disprove their hypotheses on the correlation between the Neuroticism scale and socionic dichotomies. Practical implications. The findings contribute to proving the construct validity of the socionics model. This ensures that practitioners who use socionic methods draw on the experimentally verified hypotheses.

The history of Russian medical education indicates the importance of developing the clinical thinking of a future doctor. Today, the problem has become even more acute due to the peculiarities of the educational situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, when the training of future doctors was carried out online. Considering the difficulties of forming the clinical thinking of future doctors, in 2019-2022 a study was conducted at St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University to identify specific cognitive skills of medical university teachers who train prospective doctors. Purpose. To study specific cognitive skills that determine the specifics of the intellectual activity of teachers of clinical and theoretical departments of medical universities that train prospective doctors. Methodology. The research is based on activity-based and cognitive approaches that allow studying personality as a subject of professional activity. The diagnostic procedure was carried out using the R. Amthauer test. The structure of intelligence was determined by the factor analysis and the principal component method followed by varimax rotation with Kaiser normalization. The Statistica 10.0 program was used to process the obtained empirical results. Results. The research materials served as a source of forming ideas about the features of cognitive skills underlying the clinical thinking of doctors – teachers of clinical and theoretical departments, contributing to the development of cognitive skills of prospective doctors and determining the success of their intellectual activity. Conclusions. The obtained results can be used in the field of higher medical education.

Content and methods for diagnosing the emotional burnout were established. Method. Methodology of the study. We applied the method “Diagnostics of the level of emotional burnout V. Boyko”, “State-trait anxiety inventory by C. Spielberg, Y. Hanin”, a questionnaire “Professional (emotional) burnout” (MBI) in adaptation of N. Vodopyanova, the method of K. Maslach and S. Jackson to attain the objectives. We used the Mann-Whitney test to conduct a quantitative analysis of the results of the study. Results. The results of the diagnostics clearly indicate that the formation of the professional burnout syndrome largely depends on the characteristics of an individual. Formed professional burnout is typical for people who are characterized by increased personal and situational anxiety, low self-esteem, low internality and low intelligence. After analyzing the significant differences in the groups, the author concludes that dissatisfaction with oneself and exhaustion are more typical for people who face regularly increased mental stress than for people who do not face it. The application of the results. The research can be applied in the practice of professional education of bachelors and masters of psychology at Russian universities.

The article reveals the essence of the concept of “the ability to act in the mind”, which is a fundamental specific component of the human intellect and consists in providing the opportunity to act indirectly with things, that is, to operate with their sign-symbolic images without changing the things themselves. This quality is necessary for the successful implementation of any activity, since it underlies such important components as goal creating and goal setting, the ability to imagine the result in advance, which is the motivation for the student in his research work to successfully master the educational material. The history of appearance and various definitions of this concept are given. The relevance of the article is due to the importance of the widespread introduction of chess in elementary school as an activity that forms and develops the “ability to act in the mind” in primary school age. it is at this age that the formation of two main psychological neoplasms takes place: the arbitrariness of mental processes and the internal plan of action.
