Assessing the Efficiency of E-Teaching at Tertiary Level in Algeria during Covid-19 Pandemic: The Case of EFL Teachers 新冠肺炎大流行期间阿尔及利亚高等教育电子教学效率评估——以EFL教师为例

In Algeria, adopting e-teaching at the tertiary level could be quite challenging especially in the EFL context. In Fact, English courses in the different specialties - except English departments had been delivered exclusively online during both the first and second wave of the pandemic. This paper aimed to shed light on the efficiency of the online English courses from three angles: a. identifying the obstacles faced by the EFL teachers in course delivery, b. analyzing the students’ involvement, c. measuring the teaching achievement. In order to collect data, an online questionnaire was destined to 42 EFL teachers in Algeria. Results revealed that: first, the principal hurdles that EFL teachers encountered in course delivery refer to the lack of ICT training, internet quality, and the lack of technological tools. Second, despite the different strategies employed by our EFL teachers such as syllabus adaptation, online platforms, and both synchronous and asynchronous methods, students displayed less involvement and interest than expected. Finally, many EFL teachers couldn’t reach their teaching goals. The findings imply that more consideration should be given to our EFL teachers in terms of ICT training and digital resources for better courses delivery. Besides, teachers should find more adequate strategies to foster students’ motivation for successful e-learning applications.

Perception, the centre of the Modian imagination in Vestiaire de l’enfance ABSTRACT: Like the Proustian narrator in À la recherche du temps perdu, the Modian narrator seems to be tossed back and forth between mnemonic experience and reality under the influence of perception. This induction is due to the postulate that Jimmy Sarano's addiction, the pivotal character of the narrative in Vestiaire de l'enfance, metamorphoses from a perceptionist state elicited by Rose-Marie that seems familiar to him. Thus, begins several imaginations in the narrative process. The analysis proposes, by means of the phenomenology of perception, to decipher the latent imaginary of Patrick Modiano's work.  RÉSUMÉ : Tout comme le narrateur proustien dans À la recherche du temps perdu, le narrateur modianesque semble balloté entre expérience mnémonique et réalité sous l’effet de la perception. Cette induction est due au postulat selon lequel l’accoutumance de Jimmy Sarano, personnage pivot du récit dans Vestiaire de l’enfance, se métamorphose à partir d’un état perceptionniste suscité par Rose-Marie qui lui paraît familier. Ainsi, commence une kyrielle d’imaginations dans le processus narratif. L’analyse propose, au moyen de la phénoménologie de la perception, de décrypter l’imaginaire latent de l’oeuvre de Patrick Modiano.

Distance Learning as a Challenge to Succeed to Learn the English Language during the COVID-19 Pandemic 远程学习是COVID-19大流行期间成功学习英语的挑战

Coronavirus pandemic, as a viral threat to the world, is imposing a lot of changes in the field of education. So this leads to deal with new mechanisms in order to motivate the educational institutions to choose distance learning or the E-learning as an alternative. As a result, the Algerian educational system raised challenges to fight this pandemic by moving from the traditional learning to distance learning. University of Oran 2 Mohamed Ben Ahmed, as the other universities has chosen to shut its doors on the face of the pandemic and remote working through E-learning platforms. In this paper, our objective is to investigate problems and issues that faced both teachers and students and which are considered as important episodes in the E-learning process. Although distance learning is effective and beneficial, the students find themselves less motivated to complete their tasks, and get distracted by weak access to the internet. The Students and the teachers dissatisfaction with feedback is also a significant problem. To gain a full understanding of teachers and students E-learning challenges and how they cope with them, in depth qualitative research is required.

Thesis report entitled “The Kitsch in the romantic writing of Marcel Proust: subversion, transgression and rupture” ABSTRACT: The kitsch projects itself as an aesthetic in the novels of Marcel Proust. Moreover, it institutes invasion an excess as principles of overthrowing the traditional norm. From Swann’s Way to Time Regained, the Baroque taste revitalizes his proustian writing thus, the possibility for the modern novel to take root in the past, to promote a deconstruction based on the heteroclite language of worldly culture. This language highlights problems oh composition which leave the reader to this own impressions. In short, kitsch is an element of subversion insofar as the novel is made prisoner of aesthetic overload. The accumulation of forms, kitsch objects open the way to subversion, transgression and rupture in the novels of Marcel Proust. RÉSUMÉ: Le kitsch se projette comme une esthétique dans les romans de Marcel Proust. Plus encore, il institue l'envahissement et l'excès comme principes de renversement de la norme traditionnelle. De Du côté de chez Swann au Temps retrouvé, le goût baroque revitalise cette écriture proustienne donnant ainsi la possibilité au roman moderne de prendre ancrage dans le passé pour promouvoir une déconstruction axée sur le langage hétéroclite de la culture mondaine. Ce langage met en évidence des problèmes de composition qui laissent le lecteur à ses propres impressions. En somme, le kitsch est un élément de subversion dans la mesure où, le roman est fait prisonnier de la surcharge esthétique. L’accumulation des formes, des objets kitsch ouvre la voie à la subversion, la transgression et la rupture dans les romans de Marcel Proust.

"Women of Algiers" Via Eugene Delacroix’s Palette and “La Grande Maison” of Mohamed Dib ABSTRACT: Our "choice" of "Women of Algiers in their apartment" by Eugène Delacroix and "La Grande Maison" by Mohamed Dib will be a work of "paragon", a comparative analysis. Via ut-pictura poesis and ut-poesis pictura, we will try to establish the confrontation between writing and painting in order to detect the dichotomy of the imago of the Algerian woman in the imagination of each of the two artists. At first, we will study the subjectivity of the painter who gives us a stereotypical and even shocking portrait of the Algerian woman. In a second step, we probe the portrait of the Algerian woman through the character of "Aîni" who represents an insistent, cruel and unbearable painting of suffering. Tortured by the evil of colonization, she finds herself consumed by an obsessive mourning: the burden of a family that can never eat enough and the bad memories of an alcoholic husband. Between the retreat, the calm, the secrets of the Harem of the "Women of Algiers in their apartment" and the continual movement, the cries, the sobs of the woman in the work of Mohamed Dib, there are two worlds which arise and oppose each other, which deepen without intersecting. Thirdly, we will insist on the poetics of the pictorial and the strength of hypotyposis in the readable. In fact, the two masterpieces achieve, through the portrait, the aesthetic ideal: “to paint the sensation”. We will take as a touchstone the mechanisms of the portrait through the text as “talking painting” and through painting as “silent poetry”. As for the approaches that mark out our research, we propose the semiology of the image, thematic criticism, the relationship between narration and description in the elaboration of the portrait and therefore the importance of hypotyposis. We will not lose sight of socio-criticism as well as psycho-criticism. RÉSUMÉ: Notre « choix » de « Femmes d’Alger dans leur appartement » d’Eugène Delacroix et de la trilogie de Mohamed Dib sera un travail de « paragon », une analyse comparative. Via l’ut-pictura poesis et l’ut-poesis pictura, nous essaierons d’établir la confrontation entre écriture et peinture afin de déceler la dichotomie de l’imago de la femme algérienne dans l’imaginaire de chacun des deux artistes. Dans un premier temps, nous étudierons la subjectivité du peintre qui nous donne un portrait stéréotypé voire choquant de la femme algérienne. Dans un deuxième temps, nous sondons le portrait de la femme algérienne à travers le personnage de « Aïni » qui représente une peinture insistante, cruelle et insoutenable de la souffrance. Torturée par le mal de la colonisation, elle se trouve consumée par un deuil obsédant : la charge d’une famille qui ne peut jamais manger à sa faim et les mauvais souvenirs d’un époux alcoolique. Via ut-pictura poesis and ut-poesis pictura, we will try to establish the confrontation between writing and painting in order to detect the dichotomy of the imago of the Algerian woman in the imagination of each of the two artists. At first, we will study the subjectivity of the painter who gives us a stereotypical and even shocking portrait of the Algerian woman. In a second step, we probe the portrait of the Algerian woman through the character of \"Aîni\" who represents an insistent, cruel and unbearable painting of suffering. Tortured by the evil of colonization, she finds herself consumed by an obsessive mourning: the burden of a family that can never eat enough and the bad memories of an alcoholic husband. Between the retreat, the calm, the secrets of the Harem of the \"Women of Algiers in their apartment\" and the continual movement, the cries, the sobs of the woman in the work of Mohamed Dib, there are two worlds which arise and oppose each other, which deepen without intersecting. Thirdly, we will insist on the poetics of the pictorial and the strength of hypotyposis in the readable. In fact, the two masterpieces achieve, through the portrait, the aesthetic ideal: “to paint the sensation”. We will take as a touchstone the mechanisms of the portrait through the text as “talking painting” and through painting as “silent poetry”. As for the approaches that mark out our research, we propose the semiology of the image, thematic criticism, the relationship between narration and description in the elaboration of the portrait and therefore the importance of hypotyposis. We will not lose sight of socio-criticism as well as psycho-criticism. \u0000RÉSUMÉ: Notre « choix » de « Femmes d’Alger dans leur appartement » d’Eugène Delacroix et de la trilogie de Mohamed Dib sera un travail de « paragon », une analyse comparative. Via l’ut-pictura poesis et l’ut-poesis pictura, nous essaierons d’établir la confrontation entre écriture et peinture afin de déceler la dichotomie de l’imago de la femme algérienne dans l’imaginaire de chacun des deux artistes. Dans un premier temps, nous étudierons la subjectivité du peintre qui nous donne un portrait stéréotypé voire choquant de la femme algérienne. Dans un deuxième temps, nous sondons le portrait de la femme algérienne à travers le personnage de « Aïni » qui représente une peinture insistante, cruelle et insoutenable de la souffrance. The writing and the Counting ABSTRACT: It is no coincidence that, in her latest book entitled Love me tender, Constance Debré presents her choice, this “demission de tout” (2020, p. 41) which corresponds to “l’indifférence du néant” (2014, p. 111) identified by Jaquet in the thought of Blaise Pascal. Debré invites us to reflect on the analysis that goes through a course of class defection. The narrator seeks the essential, what remains when one is stripped of everything, even of love. Even of maternal love. It is in this idealistic quest to find the self that would not be determined by social assignment, the self-detached from the multiple social roles that limit, including the mother role, that Debré may find an opening, a little air. In a dispossessed life, of course, but still, full.

Regard Sud-Nord dans un contexte postcolonial chez Alain Mabanckou 阿兰·马班库的后殖民背景下的南北视角

Relationship South-North in a postcolonial context with Alain Mabanckou ABSTRACT: Starting from the problematic which tries to raise the question of the relationship between Black and White people, and also the reason that underlies such a relationship, this article attempts to bring elements of answer to a broad questioning from two novels by Alain Mabanckou: Black Bazar (Black Bazaar) and Tais-toi et meurs (Shut up and die). The article analyzes the relationship between Black and White people in a postcolonial context, which manifests itself in a relationship of tension, rejection of the other, but also with intimacy and greed. The Africa/Europe encounter, having been made under dramatic conditions that lowered the Black to the rank of animal, devoid of any faculty of reasoning, some White men continue to see the Black men with the same gaze of inferior human beings. For the analysis, and to clearly define the field of the study, we rely on work in the field of postcolonial studies in order to achieve more effective results. RÉSUMÉ: A partir de la problématique qui tente de soulever la question du rapport entre le Noir et le Blanc, et aussi le pourquoi d’un tel rapport, cet article tente d’apporter des éléments de réponse à un large questionnement à partir de deux romans d’Alain Mabanckou : Black bazar et Tais-toi et meurs. L’article analyse les rapports entre Noir et Blanc dans un contexte postcolonial, qui se déclinent en rapport de tension, de rejet de l’autre, mais aussi d’intimité et de convoitise. La rencontre Afrique/Europe ayant été faite dans les conditions dramatiques qui rabaissaient le Noir au rang de l’animal, dépourvu de toute faculté de raisonnement, certains Blancs continuent de voir le Noir avec ce même regard d’être inférieur. Pour l’analyse, et pour bien cerner le champ de l’étude, on s’appuie sur les travaux dans le domaine des études postcoloniales afin d’aboutir à des résultats plus efficaces

Is the Identity Discourse Transgressive? Case of the Literary Discourse of Abdellah Taïa ABSTRACT: This work questions in terms of analysis the topos of identity in the literary discourse of the writer Abdellah Taïa. We proceed to an enunciative approach of the linguistic strategies carried out by the subject-writer "I" by arousing new readings about the transgression of taboos anchored by the readership. Indeed, the writer Abdellah Taïa have stated unprecedented events, namely the evocation of the naked body, excess of language, transgression of norms and violation of codes through the presentation of identity claims.  RÉSUMÉ: Ce travail interroge en matière d’analyse le topos de l’identité dans le discours littéraire de l’écrivain Abdellah Taïa. Nous procédons à une analyse énonciative des stratégies langagières menées par le sujet-écrivain « Je » en suscitant des lectures inédites à propos de la transgression des tabous ancrés par le lectorat. En effet, l’écrivain Abdellah Taïa met en scène des événements inédits à savoir l’évocation du corps nu, excès du langage, transgression des normes et violation des codes à travers la mise en discours des revendications identitaires.

Le point de vue by Mustapha Benfodil : A Laughable Tragedy ABSTRACT: In Le point de vue de la mort, Mustapha Benfodil attempts to transcend tragic reality by making fun of its events. Through this monologue, the author stages Moussa, a collector of macabre chronicles who, with a laughing spirit, retraces the tragic fate of his guests lying in the morgue of BalBala’s hospital. In this desert village, tragic news multiplies, nevertheless told with a laughing and satirical spirit. In the progression of this work, we wish to highlight the different manifestations of humor in a tragic play by focusing our interest on the linguistic and generic construction of the plot. RÉSUMÉ : Dans Le point de vue de la mort, Mustapha Benfodil tente de transcender la réalité tragique en tournant en dérision ses événements. A travers ce monologue, l’auteur met en scène Moussa, un collectionneur de chroniques macabres qui, avec un esprit rieur, retrace le destin tragique de ses hôtes gisant dans la morgue de l’hôpital de BalBala. Dans cette bourgade désertique, se multiplient les nouvelles tragiques, racontées néanmoins avec un esprit rieur et satirique. Dans la progression de ce travail, nous souhaitons mettre en lumière les différentes manifestations de l’humour dans une pièce tragique en focalisant notre intérêt sur la construction linguistique et générique de l’intrigue.

Adoption versus Replacement: “Obamacare” at Crossroads 采用与替代:十字路口的“奥巴马医改”

Conservatives tend to oppose any attempt at reforming the American healthcare system. This ideologically based objection witnessed a remarkable increase after the enactment of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), nicknamed "Obamacare." The present paper will mainly discuss and analyze both the genesis of the political polarization over the ACA and its potential destiny. In tackling the issue of polarization over Obamacare as a case study, this article will employ the Lakoffian Metaphor Theory. This latter differentiates between the conservative and liberal moral worldviews by a metaphor of "nation as family" where the strict father stands for the conservative mind and the nurturant parent represents the liberal thought. Hence, this paper seeks to explore the reasons that lie behind the liberals' tolerance and conservatives' antipathy towards Obamacare. It draws the conclusion that the conservatives' strenuous efforts to reform some provisions of the ACA were achievable, yet the pursuit of repealing the whole law was not an overnight issue.
