Majaz Isti’arah in Qur’an Surah Al-Baqarah: A Balaghah Science Perspective Based Analysis 《古兰经》中的《Majaz Isti’arah》:基于Balaghah科学视角的分析

This study examined the Majaz Isti'arah contained in the Qurán Surah (Q.S) Al-Baqarah accord-ing to the Perspective of Balaghah Science. Majaz isti'arah wasa part of the majaz lughawi which discussed the use of a word that was not in its real sense. The study relied on verbal data in the form of Quranic verses taken from Q.S Al-Baqarah through carefully reading to identify Majaz isti'arah. The identified Majaz isti'arah were qualitatively in accordance with Balaghah science perspective. It was done by balaghah scholars to get the most appropriate interpretation. The study found out that in Q.S. Al-Baqarah has 19 verses of Majaz Isti'arah. They were distribut-ed into Majaz Isti'arah tasrihiyah with nine verses, namely Q.S. Al-Baqarah (2): 7, 16, 41, 49, 138, 143, 168, 175, 187, and Isti'arah makniyah with nine verses, namely Q.S. Al-Baqarah (2): 9, 27, 74, 81, 93, 250, 256, 257, 259; Isti'arah thaba'iyyah there with 15 verses, namely In Q.S. Al-Baqarah (2): 7, 16, 27, 41, 49, 74, 81, 93, 143, 168, 175, 187, 250, 257, 259; Isti'arah Tamstsili-yah, with two verses, namely, Q.S. Al-Baqarah (2): 138, 266; and Isti'arah ashliyah with two verses, namely Q.S. Al-Baqarah (2): 138, 256. The data illustrates the existence of the isti'arah majaz which cannot be separated in understand-ing the Qur'an in particular. Q.S. Al-Baqarah. Therefore, this study suggests the need to explore the science of balaghah and further research on other suras in the Qur'an.

Khilâfah Discourse on Youtube: Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia Scholars’ Perspective Youtube上的khil<e:1>法话语:印尼解放党学者的视角

This study aimed to reveal how Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI)’s scholars, Ismail Yusnto, Felix Siuw, dan Fatih Karim used Youtube as ideological battle. It focused on discussing how texts experienced bias in rep-resenting khilâfah and how HTI ustaz used Youtube as a means to scroll their ideology. The study was qualitative research that used the verbal data of khilâfah discourse uploaded on Youtube as the primary source. Collecting the data, the researchers observed the discursivity of khilâfah as the main theme of discourse presented by HTI’s scholars on their preaching in Youtube. In data analysis, the study applied Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis. The study showed that the HTI’s scholars exploited the khilâfah discourse through intellectual and well-packaged ways, one of which was through interesting and innovative videos uploaded on Youtube. The concept of khilâfah conveyed massively by the HTI’s scholars, especially on Youtube led to a single under-standing of the khilâfah using HTI’s perspective. There were discourses about the governmental system that can be implemented in a country; and khilâfah was one of alternative system to apply. Khilâfah was not a single system by which a country was said to be Islamic one because Islam does not specifically regulate the government system. Therefore, it is important for the government to invite moderate scholars to enliven the khilâfah discourse to present more comprehensive one.

The Negative Impact of Monodisciplinary Tradition in Arabic Language and Literature Studies 单一学科传统对阿拉伯语言文学研究的负面影响

As the title suggests, this paper discussed the monodisciplinary tradition of studying Arabic language and literature which became an obstacle for scientific publications or other dissemina-tion activities. The qualitative study made a library research design whose primary data sourced from journal articles, books, research proposals/thesis, and online sources. Careful reading and analysis were applied to get the intended data useful in answering the problems being investigated. The collect-ed data and relevant information were qualitatively analyzed using Ricoeur’s Hermeneutics. The found out many negative consequences of the using of a monodisciplinary study. In general, the study of Arabic language and literature had lack of research significance, depth of analysis, and criticism. It was neither lack of originality nor creativity. In addition to the mono-disciplinary study tradition factor, the teaching university paradigm and poor learning traditions became an-other contributing factor. A mono-disciplinary in studying Arabic language and literature did not contribute significantly to its development. It was necessary to use multidisciplinary intra/interdisciplinary paradigm as a trend in the teaching and studying of Arabic language and literature in the world by which various shortcomings lessened.

Structure of News Text on the Arrest of the Head of Front Pembela Islam in Online Media 网络媒体逮捕伊斯兰阵线领导人的新闻文本结构

The study was to find and describe the structure of the news text on the arrest of the Front Pem-bela Islam chairman in cases of violating health protocols in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic on BBC News Indonesia and Kompas.com online media. The research was a descriptive qualitative by utilizing van Dijk's model with a social cognition approach focusing on the text schemes which included macro structure, superstructure, and micro structure. The research data were the fragments of discourse of articles on online media BBC News Indonesia and Kompas.com which contained news of healt protocals violations. The re-search applied listening technique and a note-taking technique as a follow-up. To check the re-search data, triangulation and interactive analysis techniques were needed to analyze the data. This study foud out that the online media BBC News Indonesia and Kompas.com had a macro structure regarding the arrest of Rizieq Shihab for violating one of the Covid 19 health protocols, that was gathering crowds. the superstructure was found in the introduction, content, and clos-ing; the microstructure section was found in semantics (background and intent), syntax (sentence forms and pronouns), lexicon, and graphics. The study concluded that according to the Teun A van Dijk scheme, the news on Rizieq Shihab's health protocol violations during the Covid 19 pandemic of BBC News Indonesia and Kompas.com had a macro text structure, superstructure, and micro structure.

Integrating Personal Moral Values in Teaching Literature in English as a Foreign Language Setting 个人道德价值观在外语文学教学中的整合

This paper aimed at exploring the existence of the integration of personal moral values within the process of the teaching of literature in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) setting in an Islamic University in Indonesia. As a part of the personal literary competence being performed in approaching literary texts, in this case study, literature instructors in EFL setting were seen as approaching the teaching of the English Literary texts through the framework of Borsheim-Black’s Critical Literature Pedagogy. It was a pedagogical framework for merging goals of critical literacy and canonical literature instruction consisting of two stances of reading literature: reading with the text and reading against the text. In this study, the stance of reading against the text became distinguishable since the findings showed that both literature instructors inadvertently articulated their personal moral values in approaching the teaching of English literary texts within the classroom although the objectives of the courses did not focus on teaching moral values. The study concluded that these instructors have a certain perception towards the integration of their personal moral values in the reading of literature and the teaching of literature in EFL set-ting. Hopefully, such assumption will be studied in further research.

Hijrah and Islamic Movement in Indonesia: Sekarmaji Marijan Kartosuwiryo’s Perspective 希吉拉与印尼伊斯兰运动

The study aimed to understand the concept of Hijrah as perceived by Sekarmaji Marijan Karto-suwiryo or commonly known as Kartosuwiryo who was encouraged to establish the movement of Darul Islam/Tentara Islam Indonesia (DI/TII) as a jihad (struggle) against injustice in all life as-pects of Indonesian citizen. The study applied historical research that comprised of four stages, namely heuristic, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The research relied on the primary data of newspaper articles, magazines, journal articles, books, and other written documents. The data were qualitatively ana-lyzed to identify the concept of Hijrah that Kartosuwiryo perceived. The study revealed that Kartosuwiryo thought that Indonesia in the colonialization period was simi-lar to the age of ignorance. The human exploitation through slavery and violence triggered to estab-lish DI/TII movement to change Indonesia as Islamic state and implement Islam in all aspects of life. The study concluded that Kartosuwiryo perceived Hijrah as a jihad against injustice implemented through establishing DI/TII movement. It was intended to break the injustice in all life aspects of Indonesian citizens.

The History of Moslem Intellectuals: A Case Study at UIn Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta 穆斯林知识分子的历史:以雅加达的希达亚图拉大学为例

This study aimed to explain that the intellectual community who studied at and was born from the state Institute of Islamic Studies Syarif Hidayatullah (IAIN Jakarta) in the 1970s to 1985 were the second-generation intellectuals who had their own characteristics. As the study was library research, the data collection was done by examining deeply the written documents or literatures that were relevant with the problems being investigated. The obtained data were then qualitatively analyzed by comparing and connecting the existing variables; and inferences were drawn from the findings to get an ideal concept of building a good national and state life based on the Islamic substantial values. The results of the study showed that second generation intellectuals became international intellectuals as Islamic historians in Southeast Asia, theologians, political or socio-economic analysts, and activists of Islamic movements. The study also pointed out that it was not only the first generation that made the second generation successful in their career and studies, but many factors on and off campus contributed significantly, and affect the next generations continuously from time to time. Evidently, in their development, discussion activities of intra-or extra campus organizations, talked not only about Islam but also political issues, such as the old order government policies. The study concluded that the second generation of IAIN Jakarta Intellectual community played many roles in Islamic studies in national and international level. It suggested that studies on the same topis with different points of views are still necessary to conduct.

Political and Cultural Islam: A Historical Phenomenon in Indonesia 政治与文化伊斯兰教:印尼的历史现象

This article aimed to reveal the periodization of political  and cultural Islam in Indonesia from time to time. In its development, political and cultural Islam had become an entity that hadattracted the attention of academics in Indonesia. Both types of Islam have always been part of the history of this nation. Therefore, the periodization of the rounds needs to be disclosed in a neat and measurable manner. This research was qualitative using a historical approach, and the existing data were presented in a descriptive analytical manner. The primary data of the research covered the statutes and bylaw of Islamic parties, such as Partai Syarikat Islam Indonesia (PSII), Masyumi Party, Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP), Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) and Partai Bulan Bintang (PBB), while the secondary data were documents of works of Indonesian authors, journals, and online news or articles. The results revealed that the periodization of Indonesian political and cultural Islam started from pre-independence to post-reformation. PSII, Masyumi Party, PPP, PKS and PBB respectively were examples of political Islam that were established in their era. Meanwhile, cultural Islam was patronized by Jam'iyyat al-Khair, Al-Irsyad, Muhammadiyah, Persis and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). Both types and groups of the Islam basically had the same goal, namely to carry out Sharia. Therefore, for the political and cultural Islam, the power and sympathy of the people seemed to support the realization of this goal.

Pela Gandong for Social Reconciliation and Peacebuilding in Ambon 佩拉·甘东在安汶促进社会和解与建设和平

This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of Pela Gandong in the process of social reconciliation and peacebuilding in Ambon. Using a sociocultural approach, this qualitative research attempted to examine the theory of social reconciliation in the peace-building process between two conflicting groups. The data that had been collected in the form of interviews, FGDs, and documentation sources related to pela gandong were qualitatively analyzed. The results of the research showed that structural segregation becomes a barrier to the process of social reconciliation because some communities and local elites still maintained inter-group beliefs about the existence of a common enemy due to past conflicts. Pela gandong played a role in strengthening social reconciliation amid actor antagonisms that were difficult to subside, factions among local elites that were still strong, and people who were still trapped in past traumas. Based on the spirit of pela gandong, the government and civil society, including educational institutions in Ambon, presented a peaceful atmosphere with various initiatives, starting from the formation of multi-ethnic villages, providing facilities and infrastructure for harmony, strengthening the curriculum for local wisdom "Pela Gandong" and “Pendidikan Orang Basudara” (POB), to strengthening interfaith mediation institutions in Maluku: Baku Bae, Maluku Interfaith Institution, and Maluku Interfaith Institution for Humanitarian Action. All of them were an effort to create a peaceful Ambon, make Maluku a laboratory for peace, a learning medium for other regions in Indonesia.

Gurutta Junaid Sulaeman’s Political Hijrah: From Fundamental to Moderate Islam 古鲁塔·朱奈德·苏莱曼的政治旅程:从基本伊斯兰到温和伊斯兰

Albeit the research into Junaid Sulaeman as the most famous Islamic Cleric in South Sulawesi was extensively undertaken, little empirical research addressed his political biography. This research aimed to explore his political Hijrah from Islamic fundamentalism to Islamic moderate. This research adopted a biography study design. To collect data, a documentary analysis based on Junaid Sulaeman’s diary and in-depth interview were conducted. The data analysis was carried out thematically using Azra’s and Al-Jauhari’s concept of fundamental and moderate Islam. The research revealed three findings. First, Junaid Sulaeman’s political Hijrah was conducted from Darul Islam toward Golongan Karya party. Second, the factors that drove Junaid Sulaeman’s participation in the political movement included the changing of socio-political context, the breadth and depth of his religious knowledge, the need to get Allah's guidance, and the consideration of dawah. Third, the implications of Junaid Sulaeman's political movement were known from the expansion of his local and national network, as well as the development of socio-religious institutions in Bone. The research concluded that a good cooperation between the ulama and the government could provide more benefits and blessings to the community.
