PurposeThis study aims to identify the meaning of Wordsworth’s poem entitled I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by analyzing its intrinsic elements. MethodThe present study is qualitative interpretive, focusing on the meaning conveyed in the poem entitled I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud using objective approach by interpreting the poem’s intrinsic elements through repeated reading of the poem as a whole and its details to achieve trustworthy analysis and conclusion. Results/findingsDifferent from general trend in the analysis Wordsworth’s I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud, the meaning of the poem is the experience of recalling the sight of the daffodils, which brought solitude to the speaker of the poem. The poem’s subject was not the daffodils, but the experience of encountering them and its recollection. As a traveler traveling in the countryside, the speaker viewed the sight of the daffodils in a positive tone through imageries of sight, internal sensation, and muscle movements related to good experiences, as well as dictions of natural views with positive connotations. The poem includes simile, personification, metonymy, and symbols to compare the beautiful crowd of daffodils and the solitude they bring to the speaker of the poem’s mind when he was recalling the sight of the dancing daffodils. ConclusionUsing Abram’s objective point of view, the analysis reveals the daffodils as representative of nature become the remedy for human’s loneliness as represented by the speaker of the poem by recalling the experience of seeing them, sending the message that appreciation of nature and the experience with nature should be maintained to create a tranquil life.

PurposeThis research aims to reveal the implementation of Large-Scale Social Collaboration (LSSC) policy in the food sector in DKI Jakarta, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic seen from the socio-cultural perspective to produce a solution policy model. MethodsThe study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design as it tried to elaborate how the society perceived LSCC policy during the Covid-19 pandemic. The data of this research is the LSSC policy issued by DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, and the society's perception and opinions sourced from aggregators, collaborators, and beneficiary communities. The data was got by conducting a review on LSSC policy, interview, and observation of the policy implementation process. FindingsThe study reveals the government of DKI Jakarta has implemented LSSC policy in the food sector during the Covid-19 pandemic well. However, there were several shortcomings must be improved, including data synchronization, socialization, and limited regulations by introducing two policy models, namely IEFFB and MATALI. IEFFB stands for improving DKI Jakarta's food security, ensuring people's food needs, fostering a sense of togetherness and care, forming a collaborative system between the government, private sector and the community to overcome common problems, and becoming a policy role model for other regions. MATALI that stands for motivation, actualization, trust, ability, leadership; and innovation is six important aspects of implementing the LSSC food sector policy. ConclusionThe study concludes that implementing LSSC policy in the food sector in DKI Jakarta still needs a serious improvement as a new policy solution for LSSC after Covid-19 pandemic.

PurposeThis study problematizes the interconnectedness between religion and media once again within the context of Indonesian biopics. This paper looks at the pattern of transformation of two Islamic elite-authoritative figures into Islamic-popular heroes that are thematically intertwined with Islamic discourse in Indonesia’s reform era. MethodThe research in this article combines several theoretical concepts by examining the relationship between text and context. The social semiotic paradigm of Kress becomes the main theory for disecting the text, while the concept of cultural commodities from Fiske and discourse formation from Foucault become the frame of reference for viewing the relationship between text and context. Results/findingsThe binary modes in those two biopics are not identical, according to this article, but both have transformed the stable concept of historical figures into more complex ones that generate polysemic ideas from an ideological standpoint. This article also explains how the process of meaning formation in the film's two Islamic figures are affected by three entities forming a three-party dialectic model. ConclusionIn the case of two biopics, Sang Pencerah (2010) and Sang Kiai (2013), this article confirms a dynamic model of conceptual design that connects texts and context. It demonstrates the existence of some variables that contribute to the polarization of contemporary Islam discourses in Indonesia.

PurposeThis research aimed to explain the human’s latency phase through child characters in Peter Pan novel and its relation to the novel unconventional narrative structure. MethodThe research was qualitative using a descriptive case design. The novel’s intrinsic elements were analyzed to see the complexity of this children's literature that led to the analysis of the latency phase of the child characters through the make-believe play. The analysis made uses of Sigmund Freud’s concept of psychosexual personality development. Results/FindingsThis research found that the novel’s complexity came from its unconventional narrative structure such as the layered sub-plots, unique settings, and characters with complex personalities that were uncommon in children’s literature. It then led to the further analysis of the children who were processing their latency phase through their activities. Focusing on Peter as a captain and a father and Wendy as a mother, all the roles manifested their wishes and desires. ConclusionThe research concluded that the unique, inconsistent, and illogical points from the unconventional narrative structure could be explained through the analysis of the story’s issue about the latency phase, which shows complexity found despite its status as children’s literature.

PurposeThis study aimed to describe the influence of race, environment, and era in Andalusian society on Ibn Zaidun's hymn (praise) and tahniah (congratulations) poetry using the perspective of Hippolite Adolf Taine. MethodThis study was a qualitative research using a library research design that relied on the hymn and tahniah poetry in Diwan Ibn Zaidun: Rasailuhu, Akhbaruhu, Syi'rul Mikjain written by Kamil Kailani and Abdurrahman. This study analyzed the tradition of praise (madah) and congratulations (tahniah) of the Andalusian community in 19 of Ibn Zaydun's poems communicated with 3 indicators of Taine's theory of social facts, namely race, climate, and time factors. Results/FindingsThis study revealed the influence of the three aspects of Andalusian social facts on Ibn Zaidun's poetry, namely: 1) Ras-Spirit, showing that Andalusian society has the tradition of writing poetry for leaders; 2) Environment-Milieau, that was cool climate surrounded by beautiful green plants have a strong influence on Andalusian Literature, giving rise to many expressions of natural beauty in their poems, especially in praise (madah) and congratulations (tahniah) on Ibn Zaidun's poetry; 3) The Age of Moments privileging Andalusian with many muwashahat, so that the poets paid great attention to rhyme (qafiyah) in their poetry, and the uses of the Andalusian language with Arabic writing became greater in a number of poems. ConclusionAndalusian poetry represented by the poet Ibn Zaydun contains three aspects of Tain social facts. Ibn Zaydun's poetry tradition is influenced by the characteristics of Andalusian society, the climate in the Andalusian city, and the time of writing the poem. The author suggests further studies on the Hypolite Taine social fact theory with its unique scope of social facts. Likewise with Andalusian studies, further studies are urgently needed to find the meaning and social facts behind his classical poems.
