An investigation on the effect of enneagram types on organisational dissent 九型人格类型对组织异议影响的研究

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of Enneagram personality types on organisational dissent strategies. A convenience sampling was used and 509 Turkish participants completed the online survey questionnaire. Basic Linear Regression Analysis using SPSS 24.0 was used to analyse the data. The results show that “the Peacemaker” and “the Helper” have a negative effect on organisational dissent. On the other hand, “the Adventurer” and “the Skeptic” personality types have a positive effect on organisational dissent. For articulated dissent, the Peace-maker” and “the Helper” both have a negative effect whereas “the Adventurer” type has a high positive effect. Lastly “the Observer” and “the Skeptic” have a positive effect on latent dissent. Considering these results, it can be said that extraverted and fearless employees use articulated dissent more. In addition, latent dissent is used more by employees who have commitment to the job and who like to keep quiet and focus on the task at hand rather than to create an unexpected result. Overall, the results support the association between certain Enneagram personality types and employee dissent. Organisations might use the findings to create a more open and democratic organisational climate that supports the expression of different ideas and thoughts in order to achieve greater success in the employees’ personal targets and organisational targets. Organisational leaders may apply the study outcomes regarding the role of employee personality to create an objective employee selection process in order to find and assign the right person to the right job.

The entrepreneurial process in social enterprises 社会企业的创业过程

The present study examines the evolving nature of social enterprise and identifies the most significant factors related to individuals and institutions. Organisations that pursue both profit and non-profit objectives, thus maintaining a mix of market- and mission-oriented practices and beliefs for addressing social and ecological issues, are known as “social enterprises.” The present study examines the methods of identifying, evaluating, and exploiting the principal factors related to social entrepreneurial opportunities. For this purpose, a qualitative research process applying the Delphi technique was conducted. A Delphi sample of 25 experts from Spain and Latin America was included. This study contributes to building a framework of reference for academics and practitioners regarding the key factors influencing the different stages of the social entrepreneurial process. The empirical results of the study offer a testimony of the most significant, both contextual and individual, factors in each stage of the social entrepreneurial process.

Influencia conjunta de la autoestima y la motivación escolar en la elección de un programa universitario 自尊和学校动机对大学课程选择的共同影响

Para los jóvenes, la elección acertada de un pro-grama universitario constituye un desafío para ellos, su familia y la sociedad, puesto que el desarrollo personal, el éxito profesional, los valores y el servicio a la comunidad dependen de ella. Considerando que los factores que intervienen en esta elección son variados, el estudio buscó determinar, empíricamente, si el grado de autoestima y moti-vación escolar tiene efecto en la matrícula de un programa universitario, como primera preferencia. La muestra corresponde a los 2626 jóvenes que ingresaron a la Universidad de Concepción, Cam-pus Chillán, en 2016-2021. Se utilizó un modelo pro-bit binario, pues la variable dependiente toma uno de dos valores discretos. El grado de autoestima y motivación se midió a partir de uno de los índices de desarrollo personal y social (IDPS), entregado por la Agencia de Calidad del Ministerio de Educación de Chile para cada establecimiento de egreso de enseñanza media. Se incorporaron variables de control, como las características personales del estudiante y del establecimiento. Los resultados confirman que, cuanto mayor es el índice de autoestima y moti-vación escolar, mayor es la probabilidad de que el estudiante ingrese al programa de su primera preferencia. Este análisis confirma (1) la importancia de este Indicador y (2) que aún faltan avances para fortalecer programas escolares que pongan el énfasis en propiciar condiciones que permitan el desarrollo integral de los estudiantes, destacando las fortalezas por sobre las debilidades.

Cerveza Pamplona Artesanal es un emprendimiento de cerveza artesanal, nacido como modelo de negocio familiar hace ocho años en Cúcuta, Colombia. Desde hace cuatro años, comenzó su formalización empresarial, con el establecimiento de su planta de producción, en Pamplona. A la fecha, ha realizado diversas estrategias para comercializar sus productos, pero busca ampliar y posicionar su marca en otros mercados. Analysis of the liquidity, solvency and profitability of the mining companies listed on the S&P/BVL Mining Index during the 2004–2020 period. 2004-2020年S&P/BVL矿业指数成份股矿业公司的流动性、偿付能力和盈利能力分析

In several countries, mining contributes more than most sectors to economic growth. But the activity is marked by cyclical behaviour, including booms in the price of metals—such as that which occurred in the period 2004-2012. Therefore, it is important for investors to identify the financial performance of companies in the sector. This study aims to analyse the levels of liquidity, solvency, and profitability of Peruvian mining companies listed on the S&P/BVL Mining Index for the period 2004–2020, given the contribution of mining to GDP growth and employment in Peru. We utilise a quantitative approach, collecting data from the companies’ financial statements through Bloomberg. The research design is non-experimental, based on a descriptive, comparative, and longitudinal approach. For the statistical analysis, descriptive statistics tests and Student’s t-test were carried out. Analysis of the results reveal that the liquidity, solvency, and profitability of this group of companies exhibited a better performance during the metal-price boom period, with a marked decrease in the following period.

Predicción de tipos de cambio utilizando monedas MILA con Google Trends 汇率预测使用MILA货币与谷歌趋势

El propósito de este artículo es evaluar la capacidad predictiva que tiene la herramienta de Google Trends para predecir los tipos de cambio de los países que componen el mercado MILA: Chile, Perú, Colombia y México. El argumento económico y financiero detrás de esta investigación es que la frecuencia de búsqueda que entrega Google Trends es un proxy de las expectativas que tienen los agentes en el mercado sobre el rendimiento en la economía. Se utiliza el Diccionario de Harvard para recono-cer palabras con connotación positiva y negativa, respecto al estado de la economía de cada país. Se realizan análisis dentro y fuera de la muestra para evaluar la capacidad predictiva de Google Trends. Además, existe una reciente literatura que utiliza esta herramienta para pronósticos de tipo de cambio en los países de Japón y Estados Unidos, pero poco se conoce en economías latinoamericanas de países MILA. Consistente con evidencia previa, los resultados de predictibilidad son inestables y poco robustos. Este estudio es importante para inversionistas, portfolio manager o agentes que deben ges-tionar el riesgo del tipo de cambio.

   Salespeople are crucial piece of the puzzle in micro business retailing environments of developing countries. With no formal training and education in salesmanship, they practice the modern version of the customer relationship management to achieve success. However, empirical studies regarding the salesperson’s performance in such environments in developing countries are scarce. We contribute to the existing literature by extending the application of the behaviour-based salesperson self-evaluation into micro enterprise environments of under-researched countries in Central America and Western Africa. Using an empirical data collected from two developing nations, we examined the importance ratings of the Bush et al. (1990) behaviour-based scale dimension in micro enterprise retail shops in Ghana and Guatemala. Our results indicate that the dimensionality of the behaviour-based salesperson performance evaluation scale holds in both countries. In addition, the importance of some of the performance evaluation dimensions differed in the countries studied.

Benchmarking strategic orientation and firm performance: An analysis of entrepreneurial orientation dimensions 标杆化战略导向与企业绩效:创业导向维度分析

Learning from other firms is identified as an important resource for firm survival. Benchmarking is a learning mechanism that can aid firms in identifying superior organisational capabilities and behaviours among other firms. Firms that possess stronger benchmarking capabilities and are able to align their strategic posture with those of market leaders, may be more likely to enjoy greater firm performance. One strategic posture that has been shown to lead to higher performance is a firm’s entrepreneurial orientation (EO). Notwithstanding, the benchmarking of organisational entrepreneurial postures as a route to enhanced firm performance has received little attention. We empirically examine firm performance implications regarding deviation in key EO dimensions from those of top performing firms. Results suggest that the alignment of various dimensions of EO with those of top-performers are more outstanding than others and that the direction of deviation from the benchmark connotes performance implications. We discuss limitations and potential for future research.

Transfer of training through productive networking 通过有效的网络转移培训

   Developing strategies for successfully transferring knowledge, skills and attitudes from a training programme to the workplace continues to be a key challenge facing organisations. Studies have found that, in general, employees transfer less than 10% of the training they acquire to their workplaces (Georgenson, 1982; Kelly, 1982; McGuire, 2014). Fitzpatrick (2001) and Saks (2002) argue that research regarding transfer of training could be complex because the figure of 10% has never been proven scientifically. Based on this study, we propose that the transfer of training models limit the transfer process because they focus solely on the whys and the why nots of the 10%, limiting the discussion to only the transfer of knowledge, skills, and attitudes from a training programme to a job. We contend that if the transfer of training research and discussion is broadened to include the remaining 90%, which is viewed as a lost job efficiency, one might discover some additional determinants contributing to the transfer of training. Therefore, this study is based on a new determinant called productive networking. In the study, interviews were used as a research instrument to investigate the significance of productive networking in the transfer of training process. Two bodies of literature were reviewed for the study. They were the frameworks of the transfer process set forth by Baldwin and Ford (1988) and Holton (2008), and the theories that support training transfer in organisations. The study determined that productive networking among trainees was a critical factor in the successful transfer of training.

Conciliación trabajo-familia en tiempos del COVID-19 y su relación con el engagement y burnout de docentes universitarios de Chile COVID-19时期的工作-家庭平衡及其与智利大学教师承诺和倦怠的关系

La pandemia por COVID-19 se presentó como un evento repentino que generó emociones negativas por todo lo que ha implicado desde su aparición en el mundo. El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar la relación entre la concilia-ción trabajo-familia con engagement y burnout, y comparar su conciliación trabajo-familia, engagement y burnout, en 203 docentes universitarios según la institución a la que pertenecen y datos sociodemográficos. El enfoque metodológico fue correlacional-explicativo. Los resultados indican que a mayor conciliación trabajo-familia, mayor es el engagement y menor el burnout. Al realizar las correlaciones por universidades, los resultados son diferentes, mediante la aplicación de t de student y ANOVA se observaron diferencias significativas en los diversos grupos, siendo las principales las del engagement según la universidad a la que pertenecen, del burnout según el género y la compañía con las que enfrenta la pandemia (pareja, hijos), de las interacciones negativas trabajo-familia según la edad y de las interacciones positivas trabajo-familia la cantidad de personas con las que se vive. Estos resultados ponen de relieve la importancia de seguir avanzando en temas de equidad de género, vida en comunidad y la gestión que hagan las universidades a través de prác-ticas organizacionales para el bienestar, felicidad y salud de los trabajadores.
