Measurement of train driver's brain activity by functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) 用功能近红外光谱(fNIRS)测量火车驾驶员脑活动

This paper describes the feature of train driver focusing on brain activity measured by using the newly developed train simulator and functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). The developed train simulator can simulate the real train operation with designed task condition for measuring brain function of train driver. Blood flow measurement is carried out manual and automatic train operation. It is pointed out that the difference between manual operation and automatic operation can be seen in the blood flow of frontal lobe.

A beam delivery system involving a flexible hollow optical-fiber is introduced. For uses in medicine, the output end of the fiber is sealed with a silica-glass cap. A result of laser lithotripsy experiment is reported.

Mechanisms of artificial cartilage generation in polyglycolic acid scaffold revealed by multiphoton microscopy 多光子显微镜观察聚乙醇酸支架人工软骨生成机制

Multiphoton microscopy is a nonlinear excitation imaging technique useful in probing structural and dynamic phenomena in biological systems. In this work, the advantages of multiphoton microscopy is explored to follow the physiological changes to tissue engineered cartilage using human mesenchymal bone marrow stem cells cultured in polyglycolic acid (PGA) scaffold. Multiphoton induced intrinsic luminescence signals from these specimens reveal the generation of extracellular matrix distorts the PGA scaffolds and show that multiphoton microscopy can be a useful technique in assessing the physiological states of tissue engineered constructs.

Photosensitizer targeting: mitochondria-targeted photosensitizer enhances photodynamic effect and apoptosis 光敏剂靶向:线粒体靶向光敏剂增强光动力效应和细胞凋亡

Using multiphoton laser scanning imaging microscopy the effects of subcellular localized PDT with the photosensitizer BPD-MA was studied in different cellular compartments including the mitochondria, the cytosol and the nucleus. Specifically, mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (mROS) and mitochondrial free calcium (mCa/sup 2+/) were measured simultaneously during PDT with BPD-MA induced mitochondrial dysfunction. Intriguingly, PDT with BPD-MA-induced mROS formation and mCa/sup 2+/ elevation as well as apoptotic death were found only when the mitochondrial compartment was illuminated. These data suggest that PDT with a mitochondria targeted photosensitizer can extensively enhance the efficacy of PDT via mROS and mCa/sup 2+/-mediated apoptotic mechanisms.

Measurement of water content distribution on skin surface using polarization imaging 利用偏振成像技术测量皮肤表面水分含量分布

A new method for measuring two-dimensional water content distribution on skin surface is presented. Water content of the stratum corneum affects the scattering properties over the skin surface. The difference of the scattering properties are visualized by introducing the polarization imaging technique. Polarization imaging enables us to divide reflected light into polarization maintained light and depolarized light which correspond to superficially reflected light and deeply penetrated light, respectively.
