This study aimed at describing the model and implementation of Arabic language learning at State Islamic Universities (PTKINs) in East Java viewed from a multicultural perspective. This study is essential, considering the diversity of ethnicities and cultures in Indonesia, so unity in learning is needed. This qualitative study described the phenomenon and extracted data obtained from interviews with program managers and lecturers, as well as pre-pandemic observation and documentation of the learning implementation. The results showed that PTKINs in East Java implement an intensive program to equip students to master Arabic with adequate Arabic graduation standards. Its implementation is carried out both in the classroom through learning programs and outside the classroom activities to provide motivation and improve learning outcomes through structured activities.

This library research analyzes the word Nisā` in al-Qur'an, which describes the women’s domestic roles and standards of social piety in Islamic view. It uses the philosophical-hermeneutical approach and social piety theory to analyze the data. This research results in three main findings: First, social piety in Islam manifests responsibility as God's caliphs on earth. Second, one of social piety description in Islam is by the use of word Nisā` repeatedly in different verses and surahs of al-Qur'an. The last, Nisā` diction to describe the social piety concept, according to al-Qur'an, places women in the domestic dimension to show women's participation as God's caliphs on earth in building the ideal social order. This research contributes to the gender studies overlooked by previous researchers, as the concept of Nisā` in al-Qur'an was ignored.

The development of practical Arabic syntax based on mE-Book teaching materials is based on the presence of printed teaching materials that are less effectively applied in online learning. This development aimed to develop practical Arabic syntax teaching materials based on mE-Book for more effective learning without limited space and time. This research used a qualitative and quantitative approach (mixed method). This research was research and development with the ADDIE design model. This research was carried out through 5 stages namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation phase was carried out using a blended learning model. The results of the research were: 1) the resulting teaching material format is HTML (based flash) published using kvisoft flipbook maker pro 4.2.2.0 software. 2) the teaching material component consists of an outer cover, an inside cover, a sample material, a task/question, i'rab, qawaid, a bibliography, and a back cover. 3) the resulting learning video was in the form of a webcam with the help of PowerPoint software and an O-Matic screencast. Assessments from material experts was 82% (eligible), from language expert was 100% (very decent), from media expert was 96% (very decent), from students' interest test was 90% (very feasible), from educator response test 84% (very feasible). The effectiveness test of the large group obtained an average posttest score of 85 pre-test average score of 75. The overall results show that mE-Book practical Arabic syntax is very feasible for use in SMA Surya Buana Malang.

The purpose of this study was to produce readability level of the text in textbook "Silsilah fi Ta'limil Lughah Al-'Arabiyah, Al-Mustawa Ats-Tsaniy, Al Qiraah", knowing the cause of the low level of text readability in terms of word class tendencies and linguistic findings. This study also resulted in the level of reading ability of first-semester Arabic students at universities in Indonesia, as well as the types of texts recommended for use or further development by other researchers. This research was carried out using descriptive qualitative methods, data sourced from the first semester students who took the Qiraah course totalling 83 students, with readability analysis techniques using the Cloze Procedure Test. The research showed that the readability of textbooks was 46% at the frustration level and 29% at the moderate level. The tendency of the word class to make errors generally occur in 1) 27% of perfect verbs (fi’il madhi), 2) 24% of nouns (isim), 3) 16% of imperfect verbs (fiil mudhari). Other factors are 1) Reader Factor, the majority of student inputs to the Arabic Language Education Study Program was 43% from general/vocational high schools; 35% from Islamic high school; and only 22% came from Islamic boarding schools; 2) Reading Factors, the team of writers of textbooks from native Arabic speakers generally relies on their experience, judgment, and culture in presenting the text regardless of the ability of the readers as foreign speakers. The results also showed the low level of readability of textbook due to the scarcity of choice of textbook from Arab countries. 3) Reading Book Factor, this book was minimal in terms of vocabulary and illustrations in the form of pictures so that it was less helpful in independent understanding.

This study aimed to determine the environmental opposites between Arabic and Malay proverbs. It used contrastive descriptive method to analyze similarities and differences in environmental opposites of both proverbs. The data sources used were Arabic and Malay proverbs from various literatures. The results showed that in Malay proverbs, although the stories and events are lost, the words do not deviate far from general proverbs and particularly Arabic proverbs. Arabic and Malay proverbs environments have similar characteristics even though they use quite different word choices.
