This study aims to explore the best implementation of Blended Learning Model to enhance students’ writing quality. This is a Classroom Action Research where Blended Learning Model was applied using two different media. The mean score result show that students’ writing quality improve from 67.83 to 75.74 at the first cycle, where videos was applied in Blended Learning Model. At the second cycle where was video was switched to PowerPoint, the students’ writing quality reach the mean score of 83.10. These findings suggested that the application of PowerPoint in Blended Learning could address the students’ problem in term of word choice, generic structure, and grammar better than videos. Students also showed positive attitude, response, as well as active participation in learning. It shows that the application of PowerPoint in Blended Learning Model could maintain students’ attention that could give better result in learning writing. Therefore, the media selection in Blended Learning environment should consider its ability in maintaining students’ attention.

Tolerance and harmony between religious communities is very important and has been fought for from generation to generation. Indonesia is a pluralistic society Therefore, tolerance and harmony are needed, which are understood, lived, and implemented in living together. Pata Dela in the Reba traditional ceremony is one of the local wisdom of the Ngada community and upholds the values of tolerance and harmony. Pata Dela is the message for the Ngada people from their ancestors to live side by side in peace, see each other as brothers, and be fair in living together. Pata Dela is not just an ancestral message delivered every year in the traditional Reba ceremony but also becomes the cultural identity of the Ngada people, which is heard, contemplated, internalized, and implemented in everyday life. These values of local wisdom need to be raised and disseminated because social media is intensively exposing hate speech and sentiments motivated by Sara, strengthening primordial attitudes, actions, and intolerance. Hopefully, this article can increase the values of tolerance and harmony in society and strengthen the nation's unity and integrity.

The purpose of this research was to investigate students’ listening comprehension problems. The researchers used a mixed-method design. The participants were third-semester students of the English Language Education Program at Universitas Katolik Indonesia Santu Paulus Ruteng. In collecting the data, the researchers used two instruments namely survey questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews. The findings of this study revealed that the third-semester students of the English Language Education Study Program perceived some degree of listening comprehension problems. Parsing problems took 50%, utilization problems took 30%, and perception problems took 20% of listening comprehension problems faced by the third-semester students. In addition, the results of the interview revealed that mostly the students experienced listening comprehension problems due to the fast speech rate of the speakers in the recording. Another cause of their listening comprehension was the lack of vocabulary and unfamiliar topics which made them unable to comprehend the spoken texts. The guided discovery model is effective for improving student learning outcomes on chemical bonding material in Class X TKJ SMK Bina Profesi Pekanbaru. This type of research used pre-experiment with one group pretest and posttest design. Sampling was carried out based on the considerations of 2 class X TKJ obtained class X TKJ 1. The data analysis technique used was paired t-test. Based on the results of the data analysis test, it was obtained that tcount>ttable was 92.85%, meaning that the use of the Guided Discovery strategy could improve student learning outcomes on chemical bonding material in Class X TKJ SMK Bina Profesi Pekanbaru

Critical thinking skills and science process skills are two variables that can be developed in the learning process, especially science learning. These two variables can support each other, especially in science learning but can also develop separately. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between these two variables for high school students in the mathematics and science specialization field in the Manggarai regency. The participants involved consisted of 232 students in grade XI from five high schools. The research instrument was designed in the form of a written test for each variable. The data of both variables were analyzed using Pearson correlation formula. The results showed that the two variables are correlated with one another, where the correlation value is 0.452. This value illustrates that critical thinking and science process skills are correlated at a moderate level. In addition, the two variables show a positive correlation, which means that if the critical thinking skills variable is increased, the science process skills variable will also develop. The results of this study recommend that in the process of learning science, the activities of discovering and developing knowledge can occur by empowering critical thinking skills which are supported by the application of science process skills so that both variables can develop simultaneously

There is a special issue faced at SDI Bung, namely there are students who have reading difficulty, writing difficulty, and calculating difficulty even though they are already in the high grade (grades 4, 5 and 6). They are grouped in children with special needs. They could not distinguish letters and interpret them, copy handwriting and put it in sentences, distinguish signs, symbols or numbers. The research aims are to find out the types of learning difficulties of children with special needs at SDI Bung and the efforts of teachers to overcome it. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with interview technique. The results showed that there were three types of learning difficulties for children with special needs at SDI Bung, namely reading difficulties (dyslexia), writing difficulties (dysgraphia), and calculating difficulties (dyscalculia). Toward these three difficulties, the teacher tries to help them by providing instructions according to the level of error such as entering the alphabet, practicing combining letters into words (dyslexia); training students to trace letter shapes and practice copying text (dysgraphia); and make basic practical exercises using visual aids, intensive guidance and provide teaching according to the level of complexity (dyscalculia). Seeing the three types of learning difficulties for children with special needs above, the researchers suggest that teachers at SDI Bung must train students in the three basic skills, namely reading, writing and counting in lower grades until they master them.

This study is intended to investigate how the EFL teachers in Ruteng run their English class within COVID-19 pandemic era. It focuses on the media used in teaching and learning process and their reason/s of choosing and using those media. It is significance to examine as the teaching and learning process within COVID-19 pandemic is different from conventional teaching and learning process. The study is done under qualitative research and has 30 EFL teachers of both junior and senior high schools in Ruteng, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia as the respondents. The data were collected by using a questionnaire and doing an interview in WhatsApp. The result shows that (1) there are six applications used by EFL teachers as their teaching media (WhatsApp, Google Classroom, Zoom, Google meet and Schoology) with the most dominant application used is WhatsApp. (2) Each EFL teacher in Ruteng uses at least two-four applications in running their online class and (3) the purpose of using those applications are to share the material, arrange task or examination, correct and give feedback to students’ work.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dalam wacana ritual adat etnik Atoni Pah Meto di Pulau Timor, Nusa Tenggara Timur, dari perspektif etnolinguistik. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif-kualitatif. Penelitian ini ditempuh dalam tiga tahap, yakni pengumpuan data, analisis data, dan penyajian hasil analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ritual adat “Helas Keta” mengandung beragam nilai kearifan lokal. Nilai-nilai kearifan lokal itu muncul pada satuan lingual melalui bahasa lokal etnik Atoni Pah Meto, yakni Uab Meto, yang digunakan etnik Atoni Pah Meto untuk berkomunikasi. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan dua bentuk kearifan lokal, yaitu kearifan lokal berwujud nyata (tangible), dan kearifan lokal tak berwujud nyata (intangible). Terkait hal tersebut, kurang lebih enam jenis kearifan lokal berwujud nyata yang di dalamnya terkandung nilai-nilai kebijaksanaan di antaranya daun alang-alang, lidi, batu dan air, hewan kurban, tas anyaman dan tempat sirih-pinang, dan tuak. Sedangkan, jenis kearifan lokal tak berwujud, yang di dalamnya terkandung nilai-nilai luhur, di antaranya perumpamaan dan petuah. Sementara itu, nilai-nilai kearifan lokalnya di antaranya pembagian tugas pokok dan fungsi dalam kehidupan sosial kemasyarakatan; adanya pengakuan dan penerimaan dari warga setempat terhadap otoritas yang dimiliki tua adat atau tokoh adat yang memimpin ritual adat; adanya ikhtiar masyarakat untuk bersatu kembali dalam ikatan kekeluargaan dan persaudaraan; adanya kerja sama dan sikap saling menghargai; terbentuknya nilai kebijaksanaan dan keadilan; adanya pengakuan dan pertobatan; adanya nilai rekonsiliasi, pemurnian diri, cinta kasih, dan perdamaian sejati.

Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan dua bentuk kearifan lokal, yaitu kearifan lokal berwujud nyata (tangible), dan kearifan lokal tak berwujud nyata (intangible). Terkait hal tersebut, kurang lebih enam jenis kearifan lokal berwujud nyata yang di dalamnya terkandung nilai-nilai kebijaksanaan di antaranya daun alang-alang, lidi, batu dan air, hewan kurban, tas anyaman dan tempat sirih-pinang, dan tuak. Sedangkan, jenis kearifan lokal tak berwujud, yang di dalamnya terkandung nilai-nilai luhur, di antaranya perumpamaan dan petuah. Artikel ini mengeskplorasi kolaborasi Sekolah Dasar Katolik (SDK) Belang dengan Gereja Stasi Lawi Paroki Santu Amborius di Keuskupan Ruteng dalam pembagunan jemaat setempat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode pengambilan data yang dipakai adalah observasi, studi dokumen dan wawancara. Wawancara dilakukan dengan petugas gereja stasi, kepala sekolah, perwakilan guru dan perwakilan masyarakat. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kolaborasi dalam pengembangan jemaat lokal di wilayah tersebut telah dilaksanakan dalam lima bidang tugas gerejani yakni leiturgia, kerygma, koinonia, diakonia, dan martirya. Bidang leiturgia menjadi bentuk kerja sama yang paling dominan dan disusul kerygma. Sedangkan aspek yang paling minim dibina bersama adalah martirya. Kerja sama juga terjadi dalam bentuk support finansial dan pengembangan aspek budaya lokal. Dasar utama kolaborasi adalah kesamaan panggilan, visi dan misi sebagai Gereja yang dipanggil untuk mewujudkan Kerajaan Allah di tengah masyarakat. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar kerja sama dilakukan lebih professional dan melibatkan mitra eksternal lainnya seperti pemerintah, lembaga adat dan organisasi masyarakat.

Pendidikan integratif yang tidak hanya berorientasi pada upaya mencerdaskan anak bangsa secara intelektual, tetapi juga secara spiritual, sosial-emosional dan kinestetik, harus menjadi perhatian semua stakeholder pendidikan. Hal ini juga menjadi perhatian pemangku kepentingan pendidikan pada sekolah-sekolah Ursulin. Sekolah-sekolah Ursulin memiliki nilai-nilai utama atau core values yaitu Serviam yang artinya “Saya Mengabdi”. Nilai-nilai Serviam meliputi cinta dan belas kasih, integritas, keberanian dan kesungguhan, persatuan, totalitas dan pelayanan. Nilai-nilai ini bersumber pada kitab suci, ajaran Gereja dan spiritualitas Santa Angela. Bagaimana penerapan nilai-nilai Serviam dalam pendidikan ursulin? Sejauh ini, belum ada penelitian tentang hal ini. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengisi kesejangan ini dengan tujuan menggali dan mendeskripsikan model penerapan nilai-nilai Serviam dalam pendidikan pada sekolah – sekolah Ursulin. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Data diperoleh dengan teknik wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Validasi data dilakukan dengan cara triangulasi teknik dan sumber. Selanjutnya data dianalisis dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan nilai-nilai Serviam dilakukan melalui (1) kegiatan pembelajaran dalam semua mata pelajaran baik pada perencanaan (96,3% guru menyusun RPP berkarakter Serviam), pelaksanaan (88,9% guru menerapkan RPP berkarakter Serviam dalam pembelajaran) maupun penilaian (100% guru mengisi jurnal penilaian sikap berisi nilai-nilai karakter Serviam); (2) pengembangan budaya sekolah melalui kegiatan rutin, kegiatan spontan, keteladanan dan pengkondisian; (3) kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dan (4) kegiatan harian di rumah dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini berkontribusi memperkaya literatur tentang pendidikan karakter dan memberikan input penting bagi para pemangku kepentingan tentang pengembangan pendidikan karakter yang bersifat integrative dan sistematis sehingga dapat menjadi bahan masukan dalam melakukan prove and improve konstruksi kurikulum dalam tataran dokumen maupun praktik di lapangan sehingga peserta didik memiliki panggilan hidup dan siap mengabdi dalam kehidupannya.
