24 varieties of potato were received from three scientific –research and breeding institutions in Ukraine. They were tested during 2016-2019. There were separated 4 varieties resistant to all causative agents of wart: Glazurna, Strumok, Solocha and Chortytsa, 14 are resistant to 11 (Mizhgirya) agent of wart;10 – to 13 (Rachiv);8 - to 18 (Yasynia); 11 – to 22 (Bistrets). The following potato varieties have a complex resistance to wart are recommended for the implementation in disease sources. The breeders are proposed to use them as donors for the wart resistance interbreeding and receiving the resistant posterity.

The results of studies of the influence of biologicals on the process of adaptation of microclonal potato plants to in vivo conditions in greenhouse and field conditions are presented. Treatment of plant material with biological products Planriz and PhytoDoctor promotes the adaptation of in vitro potato plants to in vivo conditions, increases the survival rate of up to 97,8% of potato seedlings and increases the yield of mini-tubers.

The activity of chitinases in protein extracts, separated from the male and female leaves of Actinidia arguta L., healthy and infested plants by Trialeurodes vaporariorum, was analyzed. We found that there were no significant differences in chitinase activity in both male and female leaf extracts of healthy plants. But the enzyme activity in female leaves of infested plants was twice as high as in healthy plants. While in the male leaves, less attacked by the respective pests, only a tendency towards the increase of chitinase activity was observed.

Starting from the increasing impact of harmful organisms on the background of climate change, there is an increasing need to strengthen food security and food safety, which is made possible by expanding the range of environmentally friendly means. The application of control methods, including the destruction of harmful organisms, causes various problems, including ethical ones, related to the human right to reduce or control the development of some entities by others. The article contains a systemic approach to the relationships between harmful organisms and biological means of plant protection in the four types of biological control: natural, conservation, augmentation and import, in which ethical concerns have steadily increased. Strengthening plant protection for plant health and the systemic approach creates premises for sustainable development based on organic farming.

Experiments were carried out with Orius laevigatus (Fieber, 1860) from laboratory population. For breeding orius used: reproductive cage; the bowl for the hydroponic garden; the cage for raising the predator; bean plants. Feeding was carried out with pre-frozen eggs of the grain moth. Bean plants with bug eggs remained viable until larvae emerged from them. The largest number of bugs was obtained during the first 14 days.

Toxigenic fungi are part of soil microbiota and natural inhabitants of agrocenosises and crops. Aflatoxins produced by several Aspergillus species are hazardous biological compounds known as potent carcinogens. Using PCR-based assays, a successful identification of toxigenic A. flavus and A. parasiticus strain was performed. Fungal genome sequences associated with aflatoxin production as target sequences were proved to be effective for identification of toxigenic Aspergillus species.

Investigations were conducted under greenhouse conditions to evaluate the effects of potassium bicarbonate (PB) on powdery mildew of cucumber caused by E. cichoracearum. PB of two concentrations was applied as foliar sprays to cucumber and K content of the leaf samples was determined by AAC. In the greenhouse, PB provided significant control of powdery mildew with fungal isolates, reducing disease levels by up to 67 %. Higher disease pressure reduced the efficacy of PB on powdery mildew but did not affect the content of the K in leaves. Application of KHCO3 increased the level of K in the leaves, which was responsible for the suppression of the disease.

On the territory of the Republic of Moldova, in 2019 the intense flight was noticed of the butterflies of the specie Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui L.,1758) from the Nymphalidae family. As a result of the researches on soybean crop, during the development of the first generation, the amount of V. cardui L. eggs ranged from 61 to 2287 eggs per 200 plants per hectare. The average density per plant ranged from 1.0 to 13.0 eggs. Out of the total number of V. cardui eggs (6105) collected in soybean culture, after two launches with Trichogramma evanescens the number of parasitized eggs was 4400-72%. The launch norm of the entomophage pest control was 100.000 eggs/ha in the first release (05.06.20), and 300.000 eggs/ha of individuals (07.06.20) in the second release. In the control the entomophage did not launch.

The results of studies on the effect of Trichodermin, Gaupsin, PhytoDoctor, Planriz on the yield of healthy and phomosis-affected potato tubers are presented. The positive effect of all applied biological products on potato productivity is shown. Pre-planting treatment and two foliar spraying contributed to an increase in yields, both infected (by 2.3-11.7 %) with phomosis, and healthy (by 7.9-16.4 %) potato tubers.

In the paper there are presented results of investigations concerning the susceptibility to blossom blight (Monilinia laxa) of 120 apricot varieties and selections introduced from different ecologo-geografic zones in pedo-climatical conditions of Сentral pomological zone of Republic of Мoldova being compared with local ones. A high manifestation of susceptibility to this pathogen where observed on some genotypes introduced from France, Italy, Canada. Some promising varieties for utilization in the future apricot breeding and genetics programs regarding creation of genotypes resistant to Monilinia laxa have been emphasized.
