We present StreamLiner, originally developed as an interactive `focus+context' tool for visualizing biologists' laboratory notebooks and other time-based activities, both online and off-line. We describe how to adapt StreamLiner as a teaching tool for biology students: Streamliner provides a unified way to visualize any type of stream, including the course calendar (lectures, labs, homework, exams), external events (seminars, meetings, office hours) and work produced by the course participants (student assignments, professors' comments, blogs, wikis and group projects). We used course data from two four-month degree programs that taught biology students about computer programming. Three professors identified how key features of StreamLiner would help both students and professors and suggested additional ideas for improvement. We argue that the StreamLiner approach offers a new way of managing diverse course data and can act as a general-purpose, interactive, course-visualization tool.

Music was an effective approach to awaken the students' happy emotion and was the key to open the students' heart door. It was helpful for the learner to calm down, relieve the worry and enhance the study efficiency. With this, It was widely applied in all kinds of places. The Web-based course had received people's more and more favors because it provided more study opportunities, the richer the learning resources is and the more flexible learning environment. This paper first proposed the hypothesis of introducing music into Web-based course. Then the research about the feasibility of Web-based course was carried out. Finally, the concrete design and implementation of Web-based course in music environment was described in details. As a result, the proposed method could provide a comfortable learning environment for the online learner, and enable the learners to reach the best effect in study.

The application of wireless sensor network (WSN) is always restricted by the energy shortage of sensor nodes. In order to reduce the entire energy consumption of the WSN, a promising approach is to design light clustering algorithms. LEACH is such a well-known clustering algorithm that was designed to distribute the energy consumption to nodes in the WSN evenly. LEACH is characterized by its attractive cluster-based strategy; however, in the algorithm, energy dissipation of entire network is still great during the process that cluster-heads (CH) transmit data to base station (BS). In this paper, based on LEACH, we propose a modified clustering algorithm which is named ESCAL. In ESCAL, CHs won't communicate with BS directly, but transfer aggregated data to the nearest node in term of received signal strength; then this selected nearest node will compress and forward the data to BS. According to this mechanism, the transmitting distance between CHs and the base station is greatly shortened, and therefore the energy dissipation of entire network will be remarkably reduced. Theoretical analysis and experimental simulation demonstrate that the energy dissipation of ESCAL is no more than half of that of LEACH.

Aiming at the special space in the tunnel, this paper assumes the geometric distribution of scatterers which is totally different from on the ground, puts forward a new GBSB model of MIMO channel and deduces the space-time correlation function of the model. The results of theoretical analysis and simulation show that the model can more accurately reflect the factors which impact the channel correlation in the tunnel.

For MEMS sensors with movable planar components, the gas damping structure can be used to reduce the oscillation of sensing structure and tune the quality factor of the dynamic system, furtherly improve the performance of these sensors. This paper deals with the application of two main gas damping structure: parallel plate and perforated plate in MEMS sensors. The dynamic behavior prediction of such two damping structure based on Reynolds' govern equation has been introduced accordingly to control the dynamic performance of sensing system. The parallel damping plates are the basic structures which are able to reduce vibration and increase the quality factors of micro sensors such as accelerometers and gyroscope and so on. The gas damping effects of parallel plate can be predicted by means of conventional Reynolds' equation. The perforated damping plates are another structures which can reduce the squeeze-film effects furtherly. Although perforating holes in microstructures can reduce the damping effects caused by horizontal air flow, the air flow escaping through perforated holes adds new viscous resistance. Therefore, the conventional Reynolds' equation for determining squeeze-film damping effects of non-perforated planar structures is no longer applicable. The modified Reynolds' equation (MRE) can be employed to analyze gas damping effects of perforated plates for small amplitude vibration.

With the constant development of modern library, the function of library has changed gradually. How to improve the utilization rate of library resources, how to serve readers better, and how to play more active roles, all have been becoming the concrete task of library in future. Clustering analysis is the process of grouping a set of physical abstract objects into classes of similar objects, and it has a very good application in library. The clustering analysis of readers' behavior features in library automation system helps library improve services quality greatly, provide effective decision-making support for resource optimization, provide personalized information services for readers, and made library play more active roles in serving readers.

This paper employs a hybrid numerical method combining the differential transformation method and the finite difference method to study the dynamic behavior of a rigid rotor supported by a micro gas journal bearing system. The analytical results reveal a complex dynamic behavior comprising periodic, sub-harmonic, and quasi-periodic responses of the rotor center. Furthermore, the results reveal the changes which take place in the dynamic behavior of the bearing system as the rotor mass is increased. The current analytical results are found to be in good agreement with those of other numerical methods. Therefore, the proposed method provides an effective means of gaining insights into the nonlinear dynamics of micro gas film rotor-bearing systems.

The core of fuzzy logic system is fuzzy inference machine, which realizes the transformation of fuzzy set from universe of discourse U to universe of discourse V. The fuzzy set transformation is membership transformation. However, there is redundancy in the existing algorithms of membership transformation. In order to construct a membership transformation method in which there is not interfering by redundant data, this paper excavates the information of the object classification that hides in index membership to define the divisional right, this data excavation method is based on entropy; Use distinguishable weight as a filter to delete redundant index membership that are useless for classification, and extract effective value in index membership that is useful for classification; Then transform effective value to comparable value and generate comparable sum; At last define object membership by comparable sum. Based on this, a new method to achieve transformation of fuzzy set can be realized without the interference of redundant data, and the following case can illustrate the algorithm application.

The simulation result shows that the DSSS communication system that uses software radio technology do have good anti-interference ability.
