The realistic modeling of soft tissue will not only improve current medical simulation systems; it will considerably enlarge the set of applications and the credibility of medical simulations. In order to achieve realistic tissue deformation modeling, considering the nonlinear stress-strain relationship or in a more precise statement the strain-hardening characteristic of different soft tissue types is essential. In this paper, we represent the achieved analytic expression predicting the Young modulus alterations in a soft biological tissue due to applied force in terms of some tissue's specifications and in the case of nonlinear stress-strain relationship. This model is achieved base on analytic solution of 2D elasticity problem for a circular homogeneous inclusion attached to a homogeneous infinite medium in the case of a plane-strain state and under no assumption for soft tissue characteristics.

The mean-shift algorithm has been proved to be efficient for object tracking. Traditional mean-shift algorithm uses global color histogram features, regardless the features belong to the object or to the background, which will cause localization drift. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm which can overcome this disadvantage. Our hypothesis is that the features that best discriminate between object and background are also the best for tracking, and our tracking is based on these discriminative features. Features are chosen by separating the object from the background, using a voting strategy. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm in this paper is more robust than the traditional mean-shift algorithm.

In this paper, the problem of designing a robust L2 - Linfin filter for networked control systems is investigated. A model is considered that take into account the network-induced delay and data dropout. Aim at the systems' uncertainty, the uncertainty correlated with the states of plant is joined. Through the approach of Lyapunov-Krasovskii, the performance of L2 - Linfin is transformed to a set of linear matrix inequalities that will be solved by a series of congruence transform. A numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the method.

Agent methodology represents a new way of analyzing, designing, and implementing complex software applications. Multi-agent systems (MAS) refer to all types of systems composed of multiple (semi-) autonomous components. To retrieval the knowledge in the fields of distributed fault detection or distributed fault tolerance, This paper have compared the characteristic of deliberative agent architectures with reactive agent architectures and hybrid agent architectures of MAS, proposed a hybrid intelligent agent model to solve the problem of fault learning. The MAS program language of Jade and Lygon are applied to accomplish the different kinds of knowledge learning.

By analyzing the characteristic of fast fading channels, a Kalman equalization method of directly estimating channel values in time domain is proposed based on time domain synchronization orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (TDS-OFDM) system models. The proposed algorithm is one-dimensional Kalman method and has low complexity. In addition, for tracking the time-varying channel, a minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) equalizer in time domain and a iterative decision-feedback method are also proposed. For given signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs), the simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better performance than the other algorithms in fast fading channels.

E-R model plays an important role in the field of modeling the spatial database. Improving the quality of the E-R model is a very challenging task. In this paper, we introduce the ontological ideology and methodology into the geographic information area. The characteristics of spatial E-R model and the relationship between geographic ontology and spatial E-R model are analyzed. Furthermore, we propose the idea of designing the spatial E-R model based on the geo-ontology and give an example about irrigation ontology with Web ontology language.

A novel target tracking algorithm for forward-looking infrared image sequences is proposed based on mean shift and particle filter algorithm. The mean shift algorithm is served as an efficient gradient estimation and mode seeking procedure in the particle filter. Particles move toward the modes of the posterior kernel density estimation. The infrared target is represented in the cascade grey space and the state transition model is established as the second-order auto-regressive model. We use the modified particle filter to track the infrared target robustly. Experiment results show that the proposed tracking algorithm is efficient and robust for the infrared targets with severe clutter background and provide better tracking performance than the conventional particle filter.

Frequency assignment problems (FAPs) are among the hardest combinatorial optimization problems of great practical importance in radio communication industries. Metaheuristic algorithms for FAPs have received considerable attention in the literature, but no paper has addressed the question of FAPs with cosite constraints in frequency hopping (FH) networks. In this paper, we consider FAPs occurring in a military cosite FH communication, and the constraints considered include frequency gap constraints, spurious emission and response constraints, inter-modulation interference constraints, full-band constraints and given minimum gap constraints. The whole solution method is proposed and extensive computational experiments are carried out on realistic instances.
