In this paper, the parameters of the derivative of blood pressure signals for the waveform classification of the wrist pulse have been analyzed. The method used here shows the relationships between pulse waveforms and the amplitudes of the characteristic points of the first derivative of blood pressure signals. The algorithm considered in the paper can be used for the computerization of pulse diagnostics.

The problem of Roles Mining is to build a role-based security policy for large information systems based on an analysis of the set of allowed user permissions. The article presents an algorithm for analyzing the matrix of authorized user permissions for optimal role formation. A set of permissions for an individual user is treated as a transaction. As a transaction record, used authority to act on the system. After that, the algorithm of searching for associative rules for the set of authorities is applied. Only associative rules are considered, including one power as a prerequisite and one as a consequence. A graph of the relationship of authority in the given system is being constructed. This graph is oriented weighted. The weight of the arc is determined by the support of the corresponding associative rule. For the graph constructed, clustering is performed using the community search algorithm. A hierarchy of communities is being built. Powers unite in roles if they are part of the same community. The hierarchy of communities defines the hierarchy of roles. The proposed algorithm can be used both for building a role-based security policy, and for optimizing an already existing role hierarchy.

The article is aimed at applicability investigation and usage efficiency comparison of the routing protocols that are applied in flying ad hoc networks (FANETs) with a view to construct a network based on a set of multirotor mini-UAVs. The performance of AODV and OLSR routing protocols is evaluated as well. The Gauss-Markov (GM) mobility model describing the movements of UAVs in search and rescue (SAR) operations and a monitoring scenario is considered. The basic tool underlying the research is NS-2 simulator.

Failures of single-phase voltage transformers applied in distribution networks are investigated. The aim of the study is to determine how to comply with the operating conditions the service instruction of the voltage transformers in the cold climate regions, used protection equipment and to generate recommendations for increasing the operational reliability. To achieve the objective, problems of electric strength temperature dependence investigation, transformer oil chromatographic analysis and transformer operation modes computer simulation are solved. As a result, insulation defects of voltage transformers are identified and localized by chromatographic analysis of oil. A neural network is proposed to identify faults by partial discharge parameters. Practical recommendations are founded to increase the reliability of voltage transformer operation.

Two classes of graphs are considered in the article: preferential attachment graphs with linear weight function and hybrid model of Jackson-Rogers graphs. The research is carried out to find such graphs whose vertex degree distributions have power-law asymptotics with an exponent that belongs to the interval from two to three. It is established for the first time that each hybrid graph corresponds to a certain graph with a linear weight function that has exactly the same vertex degree distribution as a hybrid graph. As a result of the investigation, all graphs of the classes under consideration are revealed, which implement the desired power-law asymptotics of the studied distributions. A formula is derived that allows us to determine the value of the weight function parameter from the given value of the power asymptotics exponent. The reliability and practical significance of the obtained theoretical results are confirmed by an example of their application for graph calibration according to data on a simulated network of autonomous Internet systems.

The purpose of this work is to apply the new popularity-gaining optimization method of Cuckoo search for the problem of choosing the optimal location of static thyristor compensators and the volume of reactive power compensation in the radial power system and comparison with the proven method of optimizing the particle swarm. The most widespread among all FACTS-devices received static thyristor compensators (STC). The STC monitors the voltage on the bus to which it is connected by generating or consuming reactive power. The method of cuckoo search distinguishing feature is a small number of initial conditions affecting the operation of the algorithm, which makes it more versatile than many other algorithms. Calculation of the steady-state regime for real power systems is impossible without taking into account a number of regime constraints.Calculations of the operation modes of the electric network after carrying out typical activities and analysis of the obtained data show that often used in the enterprises of the BSC to compensate the reactive power do not always give the expected result. The performed calculations made it possible to obtain an estimate of the voltage levels on the tires of final consumers. The results of such studies can find application in the development of new information and computer systems for controlling the operation modes of an electrical network with actively-adaptive elements.

In this paper we describe the main stages of design and the procedure of calculating the basic parameters for three-dimensional modular microwave beamformers using the example of an amplitude-phase microwave converter. The possibility of using the modern CST Microwave Studio CAD system for calculating the electromagnetic characteristics of a three-dimensional modular amplitude-phase microwave converter is demonstrated. At the end of the article, the electrical and mass-dimensional characteristics of an amplitude-phase microwave converter of a 3D-modular and traditional (planar) designs are compared. The approach used to design the 3D-modular amplitude-phase microwave converter can also be recommended for the development of the other microwave beamformers.

The method of analysis of vehicle characteristics, based on statistical estimates, is considered in the paper. A variety of vehicles are distributed according to classes and categories, so new models with new characteristics and new properties which appear every year, need to be assigned to the corresponding class. Making a decision tree is a convenient mean to make partition of vehicle models on the subsets which are associated with the corresponding classes. But a variety of classification trees can be obtained depending on the order of the selection of attributes which represent characteristics of vehicles. Solution of the problem to obtain a compact tree with the maximal purity of the class is offered. Approach to classify transport on road indicators of vehicles is used which is based on using entropy estimation and Gini index. The analytical platform Deductor was used to implement classification on the basis of described method.

The article studies the impact of reducing the resolution of an analog-to-digital converter of a digital receiver on the phase difference measurement error by the method of statistical modeling. Dependencies of the phase difference measurement error on the ratio of signal-carrier frequency and sampling frequency are shown. Dependencies of frequency-band maximum and frequency-band average phase difference measurement error on signal-to-noise ratio are provided. The results are given on modeling for analog-to-digital converter resolution of 8, 4, 2, 1 bits at the change of signal-carrier frequency within the range of 0.125 to 0.375 of sampling frequency, and the change of signal-to-noise ratio from −5 to 50 dB. The main peculiarities of the phase difference measurement error in case of small resolution of an analog-to-digital converter of a digital receiver are outlined, and recommendations on reducing it are worded.
