This paper retrieves the parameters of the refined compact model of planar diode with anode pin in a form of air bridge with whisker. The model gives an opportunity to simulate amplitude, phase, and noise characteristics in SHF, EHF, and THz frequency ranges.

The method of analysis of vehicle characteristics, based on statistical estimates, is considered in the paper. A variety of vehicles are distributed according to classes and categories, so new models with new characteristics and new properties which appear every year, need to be assigned to the corresponding class. Making a decision tree is a convenient mean to make partition of vehicle models on the subsets which are associated with the corresponding classes. But a variety of classification trees can be obtained depending on the order of the selection of attributes which represent characteristics of vehicles. Solution of the problem to obtain a compact tree with the maximal purity of the class is offered. Approach to classify transport on road indicators of vehicles is used which is based on using entropy estimation and Gini index. The analytical platform Deductor was used to implement classification on the basis of described method.

We considered the issues of the synthesis of algorithms for adaptive nonlinear signal processing using the feed-back blocks of nonlinear transformation under the influence of non-Gaussian broadband noise and band-pass noise with unknown density of distribution of instantaneous values or their envelopes. It is shown that probabilistic iterative algorithms and algorithms with measuring the coefficient of noise suppression can be used to plot the adaptive feed-back blocks of nonlinear transformation. Note, that to implement probabilistic iterative algorithms, the ability to differentiate the target function on settings is required. We proposed the algorithm of measuring the actual coefficient of noise suppression using the pilot signal in the blocks of nonlinear transformation with arbitrary amplitude characteristics. The conditions of consistency of the estimator of the mentioned coefficient are defined.

The article presents the research covering the long-term period of scientific and practical search for determining the most optimal confuser design for a wind power plant with a vertical rotation axis operating in the climate zones of small wind pressure. In the course of the work, tower-type installations with free blades in the body of the concentrator, hexagonal conical geometry with internal flow guide planes and a smooth-conical design with spiral chambers having a bounding bottom plane in the form of a spiral tray were presented. Analytical studies of the proposed installations are carried out, the dynamics of improving the system efficiency is estimated. Recommendations are given for the further development of scientific search within the framework of optimizing the initial design and the conditions for its operation. As a result of scientific and practical search, presented by mathematical modeling and laboratory tests, optimal geometries of wind flow concentrators with maximum acceleration coefficients were determined.

An effective technique for the loss probability calculation in queueing systems with heavy tails is developed. The technique is used for analysis of queueing systems with power-law distributions which are widespread as models of network devices operating under fractal traffic. Dependence form of loss probability on a buffer capacity in the systems is analyzed. The effect of the channel number in queuing systems on the dependence is examined. In practice, the developed rapid technique and obtained results of its applying might be used for solving of engineering problems of analysis and design of modern computer networks.

The article studies the impact of reducing the resolution of an analog-to-digital converter of a digital receiver on the phase difference measurement error by the method of statistical modeling. Dependencies of the phase difference measurement error on the ratio of signal-carrier frequency and sampling frequency are shown. Dependencies of frequency-band maximum and frequency-band average phase difference measurement error on signal-to-noise ratio are provided. The results are given on modeling for analog-to-digital converter resolution of 8, 4, 2, 1 bits at the change of signal-carrier frequency within the range of 0.125 to 0.375 of sampling frequency, and the change of signal-to-noise ratio from −5 to 50 dB. The main peculiarities of the phase difference measurement error in case of small resolution of an analog-to-digital converter of a digital receiver are outlined, and recommendations on reducing it are worded.

In our previous paper, we introduced the approach to solve the multi-constrained routing problem in the over-constrained case and proposed the algorithm for the particular case of this problem when all constraints used are concave. This paper is devoted to a software implementation of this approach. We present a system for modeling the optimal network path subject to the specified constraints that reflect quality of service requirements. The system allowed us to experimentally evaluate the complexity of the proposed algorithm. Simulation results and some concluding remarks are provided in the final part of the paper.

Characteristics of magnetic field force effect on increase of resonance frequencies. The characteristics of the effect of the magnetic field strength on the increase in the resonant frequencies. Method of detuning from resonance frequencies by means of active control of the damper support of a magnetoactive elastomer has been developed. We describe a procedure of compact behavioral models design of the communication channel through a borehole pipe for measurement while drilling (MWD) microwave systems based on results of measurements of radio pulse signals during testing of the channel. Characterization of the microwave channel for the decline-directed borehole and a transmitter on the Gunn diode is described as an example of the offered process. The procedure is based on measurement of signal samples of the transmitter with the subsequent accounting of electrodynamical parameters, attenuation in the media, and on the pipe walls.

Anonymous Voice over IP (VoIP) communication is an important tool to provide freedom of speech. For achieving a good trade-off between quality of service (QoS) and anonymity, connecting mixes by padded links is a promising approach. However, constructing suitable overlay topologies for establishing padded links is not easy: existing approaches are either not scalable with regard to the number of mixes because of using full meshes or impractical due to computational complexity of the algorithms used to create optimal reduced topologies. This prevents them from being deployed as volunteer-based networks like Tor. In this paper, we propose and study different heuristic strategies for reduced topology construction and path selection with low computational complexity. We evaluate our approach using latency and bandwidth estimations from the Tor network and demonstrate that we can achieve appropriate performance and anonymity metrics for VoIP. Especially, the achieved properties are similar to those of a recently proposed approach that calculates optimal topologies for small networks.
